Fiona’s POV
The next few days I spent trying to adjust to my new surroundings but it was proving to be a lot more tasking than I'd expected. No one seemed to be interested in talking to me or relating with me. Whenever I passed, I'd see them whispering about me. I spent most of my time picking up books from the library to read Lena hadn't done anything yet but it already felt like I was in hell. Once I'd recovered completely I started to take walks around the estate and explore the mansion on my own since Lena had refused to show me around like Marcellus had asked. On one such day when I was walking around, I got lost and ended up in a wing of the mansion I hadn't been to before. I was trying to find my way back when I heard music coming from one of the rooms. I knocked on the door hoping whoever was inside would be able to give me directions back to my room but I didn't get a response. I twisted the door handle and the door opened revealing a room with similar details as mine except it was much bigger and looked more grand. There was no one in the room but the radio was turned on and music was playing on one of the channels. I let curiosity get the better of me as I walked around the room admiring it. The sound of the bathroom door opening startled me and I tried to run and hide but it was too late as Marcellus walked out with nothing but a towel tied on his waist. His eyes instantly locked on me. “What are you doing here?” I struggled to form a coherent sentence while still keeping my gaze away from his bare chest and how water dripped down from his wet hair. I thought he looked hot before but he was Greek god level hot now. “I-I was walking around and I got lost. I'm sorry for coming into your room” He started slowly pacing towards me and I moved back on instinct till my back hit the wall. I realized I was trapped. “I thought I told Lena to help you out” I didn't say anything to that because I didn't want to get her in trouble and give her more reason to hate me but fate seemed to be against me as the door to Marcellus's room opened and Lena walked in with a smile on her face. The smile dropped as soon as she saw me and Marcellus in that position. I cleared my throat and Marcellus backed away from me, turning his attention to Lena. “Did you do what I asked?” “Yes” “Then why did she get lost and end up in my room?” Lena gave me death glares before responding. “She was sick. I'll show her around now” I didn't want to be alone with her so I spoke up quickly. “Oh, it's fine… I, umm, I'm feeling a bit weak now so I need to go rest” “Lena, take her,” he said simply before turning to his wardrobe and I quickly excused myself. Lena escorted me back to my room and she didn't say a word to me till we reached there. “You'd better stay the hell away from Marcellus, or else” Her words hung in the air as a warning and a threat. I didn't want to find out what she would do. Later that day, I was called for dinner so I changed my clothes and went downstairs. There was a big dining hall where the important members of the court and the pack had dinner together. I was invited to eat there too since I was still new. When I got there, I noticed all eyes on me. I was used to people staring, but it felt different from the stares I normally got. When I reached the table where the other mistresses were seated, I saw Lena stand up “There she is. You little thief” I was taken aback by her words. I hadn't stolen anything so what was she saying? “I'm not a thief,” I said simply. “But you are. You went into the Alpha’s room today and pretended to be lost just so you could try to seduce him and when that didn't work you stole from him. How pitiful is that” “I'm telling you I didn't steal anything… what are you talking about?” Marcellus came into the hall at that moment his face was stern as always. “Lena, what is the meaning of this?” “Oh, it's a good thing you're here now. I was just about to expose your little thief” “I didn't steal anything, I swear” I turned to Marcellus hoping he'd believe me. “Do you have any evidence to prove your claims?” I felt my heart break. Of course, he wouldn't believe me. He had no reason to trust a girl he'd only known for a few days. It felt like history repeating itself, I would get falsely accused and then be punished for it without anyone ever listening to what I had to say. “Yes. When she came into your room earlier today she stole a necklace from you. I'm pretty sure it's the one that belonged to your mother” “And how do you know this?” Marcellus sounded like he was getting impatient. “When I took her back to her room, I noticed she had something she seemed to be holding very tightly in her hand and she seemed like she was in a hurry to leave. I only just realized that she must have gone to your room to steal. Maybe she even had plans of running away before anyone would figure out her nefarious plans” “That's a lie! You're lying!” I shouted “Shut up! You lying whore. Tell him the truth” “That's enough” Marcellus commanded in a firm audible voice, making the entire room go quiet. “Where is the necklace now?” “I'm sure you'll find it if you search in her room. She must have hidden it somewhere” “Okay then. Lead the way” I stared horrified as some guards were called and we all had to go to my room. I was innocent, I knew that much but Lena's confidence put me in an unease. I couldn't even protest. I had to stand there and watch as they searched my room. The blood drained from my face when one of the guards held something up from one of my closets. “Is this it?” Lena smiled in triumph, “See, I told you she was lying all along. She's a thief and a liar. I stood there in shock, unable to say anything in my defense. Marcellus didn't say anything. He remained quiet as he took the piece of jewelry from the guard. He glanced at Lena very briefly before fixing his gaze on me. I looked him back in the eyes, silently begging him to believe that I was innocent. Finally, he spoke. “If this is what you think you saw Lena, then you're wrong” Lena's wicked smile dropped as she stared at Marcellus confused. “What do you mean? She clearly stole that” “No. I gave it to her” I was also taken aback. That wasn't true either but why was he lying to defend me? “That's impossible… Why would you do that? I know for a fact you didn't give that to her” Marcellus's eyes narrowed as he stared at Lena “And why would you know that?” She seemed to realize she'd almost given herself away and she composed herself “It's your mother's… you wouldn't just give it away to some random human nobody” “Well, I did Lena. You can leave” Lena was clearly embarrassed and she stormed out of the room, the guards flowing close behind her. Then it was just me and Marcellus, alone. “Why did you do that?” “I know Lena. And I know you had no time to find this or even steal it because you wouldn't have known where to begin looking for it. But Lena would” I stared at him with a profound sense of gratitude and admiration. “Thank you. No one has ever stood up for me like that before” “How do you plan on thanking me?” He stalked towards me slowly like a predator moving in on its prey. I began to feel hot and I was all too aware of how close we'd gotten. “I… I” I couldn't form words that made sense “You what?” He leaned towards me, his lips brushing my neck as he spoke. “I know you brought me here to be your mistress… but I–” He pulled away from me abruptly. “Relax, little one. I'm not going to touch you. Not unless you want me to”MARCELLUS’ POV.I could see her cheeks flush red; she bit subconsciously against her lower lip, averting her gaze from mine. I loved how innocent yet stubborn she was.“Come closer,” I ordered her, not for once taking my eyes off her. She swallowed a visible lump in her throat, taking slow steps towards me.“Closer.” I asserted, she took slow steps yet again; I was running low on my patience, and I yanked her by the arm, causing her to lurch forward, stumbling against my chest.“I'm so sorry, your highness… I didn't see… I didn't mean to” She apologized, her lips quivering from fear. An amused smile settled on my lips as I trailed my fingers along her cheeks and then her lips; slowly they moved towards her chin, raising her eyes to meet with mine.“Marcellus, call me Marcellus when it’s just us… And don't shy away from me; you have beautiful eyes, Fiona." She blushed even harder hearing my words; I was fighting the urge I had in me not to sink down my teeth into her skin and claim he
FIONA'S POV.A cold chill ran down my spine hearing those words; I couldn't go back home. I wouldn't, even if I had to go lower than being a sex slave. Of course, I didn't want to, that's not exactly what I want. But I’d take anything here than having to go back home. However, he already had lots of mistresses before me; what could I possibly have to offer? What could I do?I pulled it above my head, and then I did the same with my shorts, his eyes glued to my body, and yet in some way, I didn't feel irritated or offended. As a matter of fact, I wasn't repulsed by his kiss, and even now, seeing his handsome face gaze through my skin made me excited; I intended to revel in the pleasure it beckoned to me.“Go on now; we really don't have all day.” He spoke in a tone of urgency. I nodded, letting off at the hook of my bra, and I watched his gaze darken at the sight of my breasts. And I had done the same with my panties, revealing the brown, lush little strands of hair on my cunt.He ran
MARCELLUS’ POVI was saved by the mindlink,Trevor had mind-linked, asking me to meet him in his study. This had been the only reason why I didn't take her right there and then. Usually, I could have ignored Trevor and lusted after her, but for some reason, I couldn't bring myself to hurt the frail gentle lady who had magically captured my attention.Seeing her hips buck around my waist, hearing her moan, begging for more and slurring out my name, had caused me to let loose my sanity and self-control; the final straw was seeing her squirt, her wet juices spilling onto my fingers and down to my shirt, her face had flushed red as she took in heavy breaths while she tried to regain herself. It drove me nuts, and even when I had promised not to force her, not when she wasn't ready, but at the minute I did intend to let go of any promise I made to myself and her, I would have fucked her, senselessly and relentlessly. If Trevor had not mind-linked me.She would hate me. If I had foreseen
FIONA'S POVHe asked me to stay away; he warned me. He was curt in his words, but I couldn't. I tossed in bed for the umpteenth time tonight before standing on my feet. Staying curious wouldn't get me anywhere, uncertain if he would lash out at me or appreciate my bravery. I slid into my flip-flops, tightening the robe around my body.Hastily I bolted out the door, heading for what I remembered to be his room. He wouldn't appreciate it if he found me roaming around the halls like I had done that night, but I needed to know: Would I be returned to my parents? My cheeks flushed from embarrassment as I recalled how he had claimed I was not good enough, what was he expecting from a virgin? Perhaps if he decided to forgive me, I could do better. I'll plead with him to give me another chance. Finally, I got to his door, my heart wouldn't stop racing now. I could hear how fast it was beating through my eardrum. I rested my arm against the knob on the door, pushing it open slowly, biting ag
FIONA'S POV.“Is this even a good idea?” I asked, shivering, fear engulfed me as I watched him stare directly at me, his black shiny fur complimenting his huge body, those brown eyes of his still looking the same as it had done.“Raphael?” I asked again, my words slurred, and he nudged my body, acting like he understood my question.“This looks dangerous” I complained, he nudged me even harder, jerking his head onto my lap. He had excused himself barely a few moments ago after walking down the stairs with me claiming he had a surprise only for him to return as a wolf .“I'm not brave enough, I don't think I can do this.” I stammered, but he nudged me again, acting all fussy like a little kid throwing a tantrum. Seeing my hesitation, he shoved me , causing me to fall flat against his back. Without sparing a minute, he dashed into the woods.“Wait! Hold on! Let! Me. . . Down!” I screamed, balancing myself against his back, holding tightly around his fur, worried I'll be hit in the fac
MARCELLUS POV.“Leave, now! I wish to be alone.” I ordered Trisha and Rosa, both exchanged curious looks but knew better than to say a word. I groaned from displeasure watching them leave while burying the edge of the cigarette into the ashtray, slowly reaching for the wine glass. I could feel an uneasiness within me.They were my mistresses too, tonight was scheduled for us to have sex, it was an outing that I put up with not thinking much about it, mostly because I was alpha. And it was my duty to bear an heir, just as it was my duty to retain them in bed and have sex,Partially I only kept up with it because it was my only means of blowing off my steam, I tend to work a lot and my mind needed to be cleared of certain things, gulping the wind glass I steered uncomfortably in bed, I haven't been able to get an erection tonight, no matter what they did, I couldn't, it was strange. And it irritated me the more I saw them try all sorts of things to no avail.I couldn't keep up with the
FIONA'S POV“We should go back now; I think we've had enough fun.“ I said, thugging at arms, he had a smile on his lips.“Are you certain? We have more than enough time.” He responded with a question, I shook my head, nodding positively; it had something to do with his confession. I had said nothing when he made those utterances, and stared down at the city, watching the busy night and sparkling lights.Yet my heart had trailed off to the words he spoke; he was indeed a cousin to Marcellus, which meant he probably knew who I was, and if he didn't, it changed nothing; I had seen the sincerity in him and He had a look in his eyes when he confessed, hinting that it wasn't a joke, and I couldn't probe further.“Fine. MARCELLUS’ POV.The world around me was chaotic. I held Fiona in my arms, her body limp and lifeless. Blood soaked my hands, her shirt, and the floor. My mind screamed at me to do something, to fix this, but for the first time in my life, I felt utterly powerless. “Get the car ready!” I barked at the couple, my voice trembling with urgency. The woman, pale and shaking, nodded and ran outside while her husband brought towels. “Press this against the wound!” he shouted, handing me a bundle of fabric. I did as he said, applying pressure to her side. Fiona’s blood seeped through the towel almost instantly. My chest tightened as I looked at her face. She was so pale, her breathing shallow. “Stay with me,” I whispered, my voice breaking. “Don’t you dare leave me, Fiona. Don’t you dare.” The minutes felt like hours, but finally, the car screeched to a stop outside the house. I carried her out, cradling her as if she might shatter, and laid her gently in the back seat. “Drive!”
FIONA'S POV.The sun poured through the window, bathing the room in golden light. I stretched my arms above my head and smiled to myself. The past few days had been peaceful, almost like a dream. The couple who had taken me in were kind, their warm smiles and gentle voices making me feel safe. For the first time in a long while, I felt free. I busied myself organizing the small space they’d given me. The bed was neatly made, and my clothes were folded into the old wooden dresser by the corner. I glanced around the room, feeling a sense of accomplishment. Everything looked perfect. On the bedside table, a vase held a single sunflower. I had picked it from the garden that morning, and its bright yellow petals seemed to brighten the entire room. I hummed a tune as I moved about, wiping down surfaces and arranging the few belongings I had. My heart felt light, and I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt so content. As I placed a book on the small shelf by the window, a sudden n
MARCELLUS’ POV.The early morning sun barely lit up the study when I slammed the report onto my desk. My head was pounding, my patience stretched thin. Days of searching and still no sign of Fiona. It was unacceptable. Made me feel more miserable.I barely slept a wink, it had begun taking its toll on me, I felt miserable, I was the alpha and yet I couldn't even find my mate, just one thing that finally belonged to me, one person with whom I shared my soul with was never to be foundMy incompetence mocked me, Raphael had searched around the mountains, and the woods, and extended his armies yet nothing had been found, and now it was draining me,I rubbed my temples, trying to make sense of the scattered leads my men had brought in. Each report felt like a dead end, a cruel reminder that she was slipping further out of my grasp. The thought of her out there alone, unprotected, drove me mad. A knock on the door broke my thoughts. “Enter,” I barked, my tone harsher than I intended. T
MARCELLUS POV. The warm sunlight brushed against my face, nudging me awake. My eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, I felt disoriented. The soft, unfamiliar bed beneath me, the faint smell of lavender in the air—it was nothing like the cold, suffocating walls of the pack house I had known. Slowly, the events of the past day pieced themselves together in my mind. I had run away. I had been found. I sat up, the cozy quilt slipping off my shoulders. The room around me was simple but inviting, with wooden furniture and a vase of fresh flowers by the window. It felt strange to wake up in a place that didn’t carry the weight of judgment or whispers behind closed doors. A part of me wanted to sink back into the bed and never leave. Voices from downstairs caught my attention, and I climbed out of bed, stretching my stiff limbs. My borrowed dress hung neatly over the chair, a soft blue fabric that smelled like detergent and warmth. As I slipped it on, I couldn’t help but feel a flicker
MARCELLUS’ POV The search continued, not seeming to end soon. Every passing hour without a single lead on Fiona's whereabouts chipped away at my mental stability. Reports came in regularly—territories checked, patrols doubled—but they all said the same thing: no trace of her. My frustration was increasing, not at the effort of my men, but at myself. I had failed her. Sitting in my study, the air felt heavy with the weight of my decisions. I stared at the phone in my hand, my thumb hovering over Raphael’s contact. I had already called him earlier, several times, but there had been no answer. I couldn’t wait any longer. Swallowing my pride, I dialed his number again, pacing the length of the room as it rang. One ring. Two. Five. Still nothing. My hand clenched around the phone, and I nearly hurled it across the room. But then I stopped myself, letting out a frustrated sigh. I couldn’t afford to lose control now. Not when Fiona was still out there, alone and possibly in danger.
MARCELLUS’ POV The study was dim, lit only by the soft, flickering glow of the fire. Shadows danced on the walls as I stared at the mountain of paperwork in front of me. Documents about rogue sightings, territorial disputes, and pack finances lay scattered across the desk. They demanded my attention, yet my mind refused to focus. I leaned back in my chair, pinching the bridge of my nose. The weight of my responsibilities pressed down on me like an iron chain. Every decision felt heavier these days, and no matter how hard I worked, the burdens only seemed to grow. And then there was Fiona. Her face, her voice, her very existence haunted me. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her. But I had no right to think of her, no right to care—not after what I’d done to her. The sharp rap of knuckles against the door startled me from my thoughts. I frowned, irritation rising. “Who is it?” I barked. Before I could receive an answer, the door burst open, and Darla stormed in. Her urgency wa
DARLA’S POV. The journey back to the pack house was filled with mixed emotions. Leaving my parents behind was never easy, especially when my mother was still recovering. But I’d done everything I could for her, ensuring she had the medicine and care she needed before I left. As I approached the pack grounds, the familiar sights and sounds of home greeted me. The towering trees, the scattered houses, the faint rustle of the wind—it was all comforting yet tinged with a sense of unease. Something felt off, though I couldn’t quite place what. After handing my bags to a nearby omega to take to my quarters, I made my way inside the pack house. The grand halls were quiet, the air thick with tension. It wasn’t unusual, given the recent events—the Luna ceremony, Raphael’s departure, and the ever-present whispers of unrest. I headed straight for my room, hoping to freshen up and settle in before checking on Fiona. The thought of her brought a small smile to my face. Fiona had always been
FIONA'S POV.The city lights blurred in the distance as I trudged down the road, my legs feeling like they would give out any moment. The cold bit at my skin through my thin sweater, and my stomach growled angrily, reminding me that I hadn’t eaten since the night before. I kept moving, though every step felt heavier than the last. The sound of passing cars in the distance grew faint as I stumbled further into what seemed like a quiet neighborhood. The towering buildings gave way to smaller homes, their windows glowing warmly against the night. But I didn’t belong here. I didn’t belong anywhere. A sharp pain shot through my foot, and I winced, realizing I’d stepped on a jagged rock. I leaned against a nearby tree, my vision blurring as exhaustion finally caught up to me. The last thing I remembered was the world tilting and the ground rushing up to meet me. --- When I opened my eyes, I was no longer outside. Instead, I found myself in a small, cozy room. The walls were pain
FIONA’S POV I woke up to the sound of Maya’s hesitant knock on my door. My body felt heavy, as if I’d been carrying a weight too big for me to bear. The moment I opened my eyes, the room felt colder and emptier. Something was wrong, but I didn’t know what.“Come in,” I croaked, my voice hoarse from last night’s tears.Maya stepped in, her eyes darting nervously. She was wringing her hands, and the look on her face sent a chill down my spine.“Miss Fiona,” she started, her voice trembling, “I… I thought you should know. Raphael… he’s gone. He left early this morning. I overheard the guards talking. He’s not coming back to the pack.”Her words hit me like a punch to the stomach. My heart sank, and my vision blurred with tears I hadn’t realized were forming. “He’s gone?” I whispered, my voice shaking.Maya nodded, her expression full of pity. “Yes, miss. He left for his own pack. He didn’t tell anyone goodbye.”I sat there, frozen, as the reality of her words sank in. Raphael had left w
