Chapter 21. Shattered life.

Matthew Anderson.

The minute Stephanie threw the photographs in my face, I knew I had destroyed our entire life.

I look closely at the images and my brain desperately wants to answer what I’m seeing: who is she? Where was this? Why don’t I remember?

It took me a minute to realize my terrible mistake. Guilt and remorse wash over me. I came here to clarify the content of the photos that arrived at my house, where she appeared to be hugged by a guy, but I never believed that I would become the cause of our breakup.

I see everything like in slow motion. She confronts me and since I can’t defend myself; she slaps me and walks away.

My soul desperately wants to ask for her forgiveness, but my feet refuse to walk after her, as if my body knows the terrible mistake I have made.

I stood at that door for a few minutes until the wedding planner came to pick her up. She remains pale looking at the empty room; the photos scattered everywhere and me looking at nothing.

I see her leaving the room
