Chapter 75

Seth’s POV

“Rest,” I said to Camilla, gently pushing her back onto the bed. She groaned.

“I’ve been resting for the past three days, Seth. I’m fine,” she grumbled, but I wasn’t convinced.

“You hit your head pretty bad, sweetheart. Just stay in bed for today,” I replied, pulling back to slip a shirt over my head.

She nodded, and I watched as she bit her lower lip. Clearly, there was something on her mind that she was holding back.

“I— Do you have to go?” she asked. I paused, halfway through threading my belt through the loops of my jeans.

I clenched my jaw, thinking of Lucius. It had been three days since that bastard was locked up, along with a few men we suspected were working with him—thanks to the guard I knocked out who pointed them out.

“Yes,” I whispered. “I have to do this.” I leaned in toward her. With one hand resting by her head, I cupped her cheek with the other and kissed her slowly, sweetly.

“Be careful,” Camilla said, placing her hand over mine.

“Always.”
