Camilla’s POV

“This is so wrong,” Ava whisper-yelled beside me, her eyes darting around the hall. “Even if we want to break in, we don’t have his key or—”

The door creaked as I pushed it open, and Ava froze mid-sentence. “It’s open,” I said, my voice low, and she sucked in a breath.

“How?” she asked, wide-eyed.

I thought of the last time I had coke to Lucius demanding answer and Seth had come to find me He’d literally kicked the door in during one of his rages and it seemed Lucius never bothered to fix it.

“Seth,” I murmured, and Ava blinked at me, confusion flitting across her face. She didn’t ask more.

The hallway behind us was empty. Still, I hesitated before closing the door, the soft click echoing louder than I wanted and it made me wince.

“So… what exactly are we looking for?” Ava asked, her voice now quieter, as if the shadows might overhear.
