Chapter 62

Camilla’s POV

When we returned to the clearing, the crowd had thinned, though more than half still remained.

I stood barefoot, dressed only in a white bralette and underwear, my toes sinking into the cool, damp soil. Tilting my face toward the full moon, I inhaled the crisp night air.

Arms wrapped around my waist, and I jolted, eyes snapping open. Seth pressed his head against my shoulder, swaying us gently back and forth.

“This will be our first run together,” he murmured. I sifted through memories and realized he was right. Even when he saved me from being turned into a drug, we hadn’t run together—Seth carried me for two days straight.

“I guess it is,” I whispered. He moved to face me, cracking his neck from side to side, one hand resting on his hip.

Like everyone else, he wore only a black brief.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, standing on my toes. “I wish I had your mark, Seth. Then we could feel each other’s wolves.” My voice dropped to a whisper, and I felt him tense.
