Chapter 33

Camilla’s POV

“Seth?” I whispered, staring at the man through the brown curtains of my hair, standing on the other side of the metal bars, as if he were a ghost.

He fumbled with the keys until he found the right one, unlocking the door. Seth rushed to my side, knelt down, and cupped my cheeks.

“Camilla,” he breathed my name, while I shook my head, still trying to make sense of what was happening.

“How—how did you find me?” I asked as he stood and examined the chains holding my hands.

“Shit, Camilla. I’d love to explain, but there’s no time.” He hissed as his fingers brushed against the chains.

“They’re made of silver,” I rasped, wincing. Seth stepped back and drew a gun from his hip.

“Seth, wh—” My words were cut off by the deafening sound of a gunshot. The chains clattered to the ground, severed in the middle, freeing me, though the broken links still hung from my wrists.
