I left my office and then rushed over towards the hallway. Raven's scent was everywhere in the house. It was strong and addictive just like the nectar of a flower. I ran swiftly like a warrior in battle but froze when her intoxicating scent arrested my lungs, unexpectedly.

"Zander!" she croaked. Her voice was enough for me to gather all the strength needed to reach her. I rushed to her side and gently pulled her out of Emily's arms. My hand burned when I touched her bare skin. Her body was overheating and I needed to act fast.

"Is everything alright little wolf? How do you feel?" I asked with a straining in my voice.

"No, I'm not fine. I feel really hot and irritated."

Then another scent hit me and I felt like I had been struck by lightning. My mind was in a haze and my wolf was bouncing in excitement at the back of my mind.
