Chapter 3: Meeting the Others

Lora

I was in a carriage riding with my father for two days to the Fae Kingdom, he wanted an alliance that our Alpha had set up to be signed. I was learning what it was like to be a Beta female although my brother would take over eventually, honestly, I was secretly searching for my mate. I believe in true mates although it was rare, my dad was going to marry me off, and I could sense it if I didn't find my mate. The war lost a lot of men and she-wolves were taking every opportunity to be mated, whether with a wolf or other species. I watched the beautiful trees and flowers as we headed to the palace, it was so magical with all the different colors, fairies looked at us as we passed until we were by the front entrance. King Lucian came out to greet us and we were escorted to the main hall, I got this scent that made my wolf Joi perk up, it was minty with a touch of lime and musk, it was masculine and I wondered if my mate was here. I was worried about being mated to a different species because there didn't seem to be wolves here, I was shown to a guest area and we were told to be down later for dinner and I just took a well-needed nap.

Later that afternoon a little servant girl around sixteen years was helping me get ready for dinner, Joi said, "What if our mate is Fae?" I smiled saying, "Does it matter? The Fae Kingdom looks nice, we would fit in," she replied, "What if he doesn't want us because we are wolves?" I frowned and never really thought about it but I told her to think positively before heading down to the dining hall. I could hear the chatter among the people in the hall but then the scent of hopefully my mate was strong in there, I prepared myself hoping he wouldn't reject me because I am a different species. I entered the room looking for my father when the scent hit me full force, I looked around and saw the most handsome wolf, he was a wolf and my heart rate picked up, he stared at me surprised before smiling, both of us saying, "Mate." He walked over to me saying, "Mine," pulling me to his chest and smelling my neck and the tingles, it felt amazing, I had found my mate, and then we heard the clapping and congratulations. I ended up sitting next to him for the remainder of dinner, we had a grand old time and we went for a walk to the beautiful garden where he kissed me for the first time.

It's been weeks since I met my mate and we were getting to know each other, my father has requested to stay longer for my sake so he can get to know his future son-in-law. I woke up happy and wanting to go to the Drax but because I am a Beta's daughter, I couldn't sleep in the same room until we were mated. My wolf wanted to see our mate again so I got up, took a bath, and headed out to meet him, he was training with my father and everyone watched in awe at how quick he was. I couldn't believe he was the Royal Gamma, we were going to be Royalty in Aidan's court and that alone made me nervous. Lady Kaitlyn sat next to me, rumor has it, she was Michael's mate although not confirmed by anyone, they haven't marked each other because she claims she is not ready or they don't want anyone to know but they are not fooling anyone, they sneak off together sometimes and she has very lovely love bites on her shoulder and neck. I asked her how she could stay away from Michael, and she looked shocked that I would ask that and smiled, "We don't, Fae do things differently, we stay together, and we can have sex without marking each other. Plus it was our secret for now, I will just wait until he is coronated so it is a special occasion," and I understood.

Drax

I sensed my mate was watching me spar with her father, he was a well-trained warrior and he seemed to be a very kind wolf. He has issues with getting alliances as his Alpha has a very small pack and other packs want to take over, I assured him that as Royal Gamma, King Aidan wouldn't let it happen and he was pleased to send word to his Alpha. I saw Michael walk out with Lady Kaitlyn and I just smiled, she was his mate, and he met her just after the war when she turned eighteen, however, they haven't made their relationship public because she claims she is not ready for the spotlight but I don't know if I trust that explanation. Michael is my best friend and I always had a crush on him, I will protect him with my life, especially after the way he didn't judge me and still keeps my secret. I will be leaving here in two days to go back to the kingdom, it's about time I face my past and introduce my future, my blood brothers will be happy for me. I looked at Lora knowing that this time I would be happily mated without judgment, however, should I tell her about Ryker? Should I tell her about my past hurt or move on closing that chapter of my life?

I am currently sitting by the waterfall with Lora after our romantic dinner, she was so beautiful and kind, she cares about my feelings and was so interested in my life, and my work, she even wants to meet my friends, whom I talk about so dearly. I have met her wolf Joi and she has met Klaus, I had brought her out here to profess my love and proposed to her, she was so happy as she cried when I asked. We started to kiss as both of our bodies heated up and she smiled, she was shy and I said, "Don't worry, we will be married soon," she looked at me with so much love but she pulled back and said, "It's not that," and I looked at her confused and she said, "I have never had sex before," and it shocked me but then she was a bit shelter which was good in my book. I kissed her and said, "I can wait until our wedding night, you deserve to be worshiped," and we lay on the blanket watching the stars together. I was battling what to tell her about my past but being with her here happy looking at the stars, I never mentioned that she was my second chance mate, as the first mating was a mistake, now the moon goddess had gotten it right, so my wolf and I had decided to bury what we had with Ryker forever and move on with Lora, our one true love.

Two Days Later

We were entering my pack land when I heard howls coming from Ty and a few warriors in the area. Ty and the warriors escorted us back to the palace where we were greeted by Roman and Amon who welcomed the new Gamma Female. I held her hand as she was nervous, everyone bowed as we walked down the hall to meet Aidan. He was talking to his mistress Addy before she kissed him and left the room. Ty looked uneasy when Addy passed but he broke the ice and went over to greet Lora, Aidan smiled and hugged me saying, "We missed you, and you need to tell us what happened," before he looked at Lora. He welcomed her to the pack and signed off on our wedding to be held at month's end. He wanted us back on pack lands to be there for his birthday ball where he intended to find a mate. I was glad he was about to choose a mate or find his fated mate, I kissed Lora as an omega escorted her to her room and I sat down and explained why I was in the Fae Kingdom for almost a month. The boys seemed furious at what had happened between me and Ryker but they were happy I found a second chance mate. Roman looked at me and smiled like he had heard some good news, the only problem was, was it because I was rejected or because I found a new mate?
