Amos’ POV “How many people have you killed?” She asked, looked very nervous, I knew the kind of questions she was going to ask me, and I didn't expect anything less. “Let me think,” I said pretending to consider it, truthfully I wasn't counting but I knew it was a good number. She was so pure and innocent, even saying five people would sound so big to her and for a moment I considered lying to her. “Don't lie to me!” She seemed sitting up on the chair, giving me the pleasure of a good view of her full luscious breasts. “Okay… okay I won't lie,” I chuckled, I almost forgot she was able to hear my thoughts. “I wasn't counting but it's a very good number,” I said honestly, I observed her reaction to my words, I didn't want to scare her but I didn't want to keep any more secrets. Maya had warned me about this before, she asked me to make her mine and tell her the truth but I didn't listen and it almost cost me my little angel. My avoidance was interpreted as lies and betrayal. I g
Amos’ POV “You seem to love this a lot more than I expected,” I whispered in Avery's ear as I washed her back. She was so relaxed and happy, I loved that. “Who doesn't like to be pampered, you are going to be doing this a lot more in the future,” she giggled, her reply made me the happiest man on the planet, hearing her talk about our future made me as excited as a teenage boy. “Whatever my queen wants,” I replied, planting a kiss on her neck. Everything seemed to be going really well but I had a bad feeling, my gut told me something was wrong, something was going to happen soon, something dangerous, I could also feel Jack's presence around, he was the only person who knew this place and he must have rallied a few men and come to attack me. “What's wrong? You look lost in thought,” Avery said, snapping me back to reality. “It's nothing serious, come get dressed,” I said, wearing her one of my T-shirts. It was a good thing I stored enough food for at least three years in this roo
Amos’ POV“It is you,” I whispered, too shocked to say anything else. I remember how he saved my life when I was too injured to fight during the war.I had just been given the Alpha’s staff and ran away from the battlefield after losing everyone that mattered to me. I was heartbroken and injured, trying to get to the pack before I was discovered by our enemies, I tried to fight but was outnumbered, to the point where they would have killed me, just then a human came and fought them off, after his Victory I asked for his name but he only showed me a wolf tattoo on his back telling me he would be the one to find me.“We meet again,” he said with a smirk, he really did come to find me, he had been with me all along and I didn't know.“What's going on here?” Maya asked looking more confused than before, this was going to be a long story to tell, we didn't have the time but now I knew what to do.“Victor saved my life during the war,” I said quickly and turned towards the room. Maya was sh
Avery's POV “Are we really just going to sit here and do nothing?” I asked Maya after a few minutes, our men had left us here and gone to face what may be their deaths. “We need to be safe,” Maya replied, she sounded so distant and cold. “Maya,” I whispered, touching her hand as if to bring her back to reality. “Yes darling,” she responded, startled at my touch, something was definitely wrong. “I'm here, sorry, what did you say?” She asked, turning her attention to me fully. “What's wrong?” I asked her, changing the topic, I needed to find out what was going on with her. “Nothing, it's just that I don't have a very good feeling about this,” she said, I could tell she was speaking the truth. “I feel the same way, and that is why I was asking you if we are just going to sit here and let them go to their death?” I asked, I was grateful she thought the same thing I did, it would have been so difficult to first try to convince her to be on board with my plan. “But as much as I wa
Avery's POV“No!!” I screamed as my eyes popped open, I looked around me, it was very dark, I hurried to touch my side, both sides actually and I became confused, I was sure I had been stabbed."Where is this?” I asked myself, the more I looked around, the more I could not understand what was going on.“Finally awake,” I heard Maya remark as she entered the room with a candle.I quickly got off the bed and tried to look for a way to stop her from getting to me, even if I couldn't feel the pain or see the stab wound, I was sure she had stabbed me or was it a dream?“Stay away from me!” I screamed picking a knife by the side of the bed, Maya just smiled, did she predict this reaction?“Now drop that weapon or you won't like the consequences,” she warned as she began to approach me regardless of my threat.“You really think I won't stab you?” I asked her, I was confused but I was not going to stand there and let her do whatever she wanted.“I know you will,” she said with a smile as she
Avery's POV “She is waking up, go now, let me handle this,” Maya pretended to whisper, trying to cover up for me. “Why should I hide? She is outnumbered, let her wake up and face me,” he said adamantly, this is going to be more difficult than I imagined. “Davis just listen to me first and let me handle this,” Maya insisted, this was not going so well and I was really scared for Maya's safety, to me she was in more danger than I was. “It's Alpha Davis to you,” He roared, he seemed to have come closer than before. I couldn't open my eyes but curiosity was killing me. “You are not my Alpha,” Maya said defiantly with a strained voice, standing her ground, she seemed to have understood what I had said earlier, we needed to fight him off and not pretend to work with him. It was safer to face him head on, no matter the costs, the more we pretended to work with him the more empowered he would be. “We made a deal, you work with me and I let you leave here with your head on your neck but
Avery's POV “What if he finds us?” Maya asked, her voice beginning to weaken again, she needed to be treated quickly and I did not know what to do. “Let's pray he doesn't,” I responded as we entered into the basement and locked ourselves in, this was our only hope for survival. We had barely settled in when we started hearing sounds from outside the door, he had quickly found us and now he was trying to tear down the door. “When I get you two, I promise you a very painful death,” Alpha Davis screamed as he tried to break down the garage door. I was so confused, Maya had passed out and the door had begun to give way, if some kind of miracle had not happened we both wouldn't live for the next ten minutes. “Come out now that you can,” Aloha Davis warned, why was he so hell-bent on killing me? I did nothing wrong to him, I didn't even know him much or interact with him at all while I sought refuge in his pack. What could bring this type of animosity? “Can you at least tell me why y
Avery's POV “Avery!” I heard a voice call from afar. I had begun to lose a lot of blood and I could hardly speak. “Maya!” Another voice called, it sounded like Victor and I was trying to respond but Alpha Davis glared at me, warning me not to speak for any reason, if I wanted to survive. What was the use anyway, I was already dying so it did not matter. I tried to shout but as I opened my eyes no sound came out. “Maya!” Victor screamed again, he was getting closer and with the much Alpha Davis had done, he was sure we would die, and truly if we had no help would die in a matter of seconds. Alpha Davis’ basic focus was trying to find a way out but the hideout was on lockdown down and there was no way to escape. When he understood that there was no way he waited patiently for them knowing they would eventually sniff us out. “Please come quickly, we are in the basement,” I said hoping Alpha Amos would hear my thoughts, he was my mate after all. “Stop,” Amos whispered as they neare
