Enzo leaned against the balcony railing, the cool night breeze whispering through his dark hair. The city below him was still, unaware of the storm brewing within its king. He felt out of place, like a stranger in his own world.

Marco approached quietly, breaking Enzo’s silence. “What’s bothering you?”

Enzo didn’t turn. “You wouldn’t understand.”

“Try me,” Marco replied, crossing his arms. “I’ve known you long enough to know when something’s eating at you.”

Enzo’s jaw clenched. “It’s nothing.”

“Nothing?” Marco’s eyebrows shot up. “This isn’t about business. It’s about her, isn’t it?”

Enzo’s fingers tightened on the railing, his knuckles turning white. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Marco snorted. “Right. And I’m the Pope.”

“Drop it, Marco.”

“You can order me around in a meeting, but out here?” Marco leaned closer. “You’re my friend, Enzo. And friends don’t let friends spiral in silence.”

Enzo finally turned, his eyes flashing. “Spiral? I’m not spiraling.”

“Really?” Marco ra

Enzo strode down the hallway with Sienna at his side, his mind already calculating the next move. Marco’s news had sent a shockwave through him—Mateo’s men were never on the move without a purpose. He glanced sideways at Sienna, who kept pace with him, a determined look on her face despite the clear apprehension in her eyes.“Where are we going?” Sienna finally asked, her voice tense.“To the safe room,” Enzo replied, not breaking his stride. “It’s secure, and you’ll be protected there.”“And you?” she countered, her voice firm. “Where are you going?”“To handle things,” he said, the edge in his voice unmistakable.Sienna stopped in her tracks, forcing him to do the same. “No,” she said, shaking her head. “I’m not going to just sit and wait like some prisoner.”Enzo turned to face her, his jaw tightening. “This isn’t up for discussion, Sienna.”“It is if it involves me,” she argued, crossing her arms. “You said you wanted to protect me, but I’m not some fragile doll you can lock away.

The clinking of glasses and hushed murmurs reverberated through the dimly lit dining room as Enzo entered. The dinner table was set, but the atmosphere felt thick with something far heavier than the scent of roasted lamb and red wine.Marco stood near the window, scanning the grounds. He turned as Enzo approached. “Word’s out,” Marco muttered, not bothering with small talk. “The Torres Clan has been making inquiries.”Enzo’s eyes narrowed. “Inquiries?”Marco crossed his arms, his expression grim. “They’re not being subtle about it, either. They want to know why the great Enzo Falcone has taken a stray under his wing.”Enzo’s jaw tightened. “And what have you heard?”“Word is, they think you’ve gone soft,” Marco said, his tone laced with bitter amusement. “That maybe this girl—Sienna—is your Achilles’ heel.”Enzo didn’t respond immediately. He walked over to the table, picking up a glass of wine and swirling it absentmindedly. “The Torres Clan always did like to gamble,” he said finall

Sienna barely had time to process the tension in the camp as Enzo ordered Marco to step up security. It was strange to suddenly be so central to his plans; even stranger to see the way the men around him started looking at her—some with wariness, others with suspicion.“Sienna,” Enzo’s voice broke into her thoughts. “You can’t wander around unprotected. From now on, you stay with me.”She narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms. “Am I a prisoner now?”“No,” he replied, not missing a beat. “But we’re not playing a game, either. Diego’s men have been circling, and if he knows what you know—”“Then I’m a liability,” she interrupted, her voice flat.Enzo tilted his head, meeting her gaze. “I’d call you a risk. But you could also be a weapon, in the right hands.”“Yours, you mean?”He didn’t answer, just gave her a look that held all the unspoken rules she was beginning to recognize. “You want to be a part of this, don’t you?”She met his eyes with a bold stare. “I just don’t want to be the p

Sienna kept her eyes on the man in front of her, forcing herself to remain calm as he stepped closer, his leering smile giving her a sick feeling. She knew Enzo and his men were nearby, but she was on her own until they made their move. Her heart raced, but she squared her shoulders, letting her intelligence and instinct guide her.“You don’t look scared.” The man’s grin twisted. “Most people wouldn’t wander out here alone.”“Maybe I’m not most people.” She replied, managing a smirk.“Oh, Diego’s gonna like you.” His voice was thick with amusement, but his eyes remained calculating.“And here I thought I was here for a quiet walk,” she replied, deflecting with a steady gaze. She knew if she didn’t play this just right, he’d sense the setup. He let out a short, dark laugh. “You’re a lot smarter than you look, aren’t you?”She took a half-step back, giving a perfect impression of a girl who knew she was in over her head but was too proud to run. “And you’re a lot dumber than you look i

The gunshot rang out, shattering the night. Sienna’s breath caught as she instinctively threw herself sideways, feeling a flash of heat as the bullet grazed her arm.“Sienna!” Enzo’s voice was a sharp command, and before she could even regain her balance, he was at her side, his arm wrapping around her shoulders, pulling her behind him.Marco was faster, though. Before the gunman could fire again, Marco lunged forward, his own gun raised. “Wrong move, friend,” he snarled, squeezing the trigger without hesitation. The gunman crumpled to the ground, a surprised expression frozen on his face.Enzo’s eyes blazed as he scanned the docks for any sign of more intruders. “That was too close,” he muttered, his grip still firm on Sienna’s arm.Sienna winced, glancing down at the thin line of blood trickling down her sleeve. “I’m fine,” she said, though her voice was shaking.Enzo’s gaze hardened as he looked at her arm. “That was reckless.”“I—” She swallowed, trying to steady her voice. “He ca

I thought I’d proven myself by now.”“It’s not that simple.” His voice was calm, almost maddeningly so. “I trust you, but I also know people can wear masks, even if they don’t mean to.”“Is that what you think I’m doing? Wearing a mask?” Her voice was low, almost challenging.Enzo shrugged. “You come from a world of lies and manipulation. Your father, your stepmother… it’s the air you’ve breathed since birth. It’d be hard for anyone to leave that behind entirely.”Sienna’s jaw clenched. “I never chose that world, Enzo. I’ve spent my entire life tryin

The night was dark and silent, broken only by the hum of the car’s engine as Enzo and Sienna drove back from the docks. Sienna sat quietly beside him, her face turned toward the window, though she could feel the weight of his gaze on her now and then. Finally, she couldn’t take the silence anymore. “You’ve been quiet.” Enzo’s hands tightened on the wheel. “Not much to say.” She raised an eyebrow, giving him a sidelong glance. “I don’t believe that for a second.” He looked over at her, his eyes flashing in the dim light. “You’re more perceptive than you should be.” “And you’re better at hiding things than most people,” she shot back. “What are you holding back?” He didn’t answer immediately, his gaze flicking back to the road. “Some things are better left unsaid, Sienna.” Sienna let out a frustrated sigh. “You know, if you’d just let me in, you wouldn’t have to keep all these walls up.” He smirked, though his expression was tinged with something softer, something almost

Their faces were hard, their fingers resting lightly on their triggers.Across from them, Diego Torres emerged from the shadows, his army of killers fanning out behind him.The two men locked eyes, years of rivalry boiling down to this moment.“So this is how it ends, Falcone? In the dirt, where you belong?”Diego said mockingly.“No, Torres. It ends with you bleeding out at my feet.” Enzo responded, calm and deadly. Diego grinned, but there was a flicker of unease in his eyes.“Big words. But I don’t see Marco here to back you up anymore.” Diego scoffed. They burned everything to the ground. We’ve got injured men, and worse—he’s not stopping there.” Federico reeled out.Enzo cursed under his breath. “He’s coming for blood.”Sienna appeared in the doorway, already dressed, her face a mix of determination and worry.“What’s going on?” Sienna queried.Enzo briefly met her gaze. “Diego’s targeting everything we’ve built. This isn’t just a power play—he’s coming for all of us.”Sienna stepped into the room. “Then we fight back.”Federico looked between them. “He’s already ahead of us. The factory floor was littered with bodies, but amidst the wreckage, a lone figure emerged, bloodied but alive.“Enzo… it’s Diego. He made it out.” Sienna whispered.Enzo’s jaw tightened as he grabbed the binoculars from her, focusing on Diego. His rival was limping toward a waiting car, clutching his side.“Damn it. Mateo’s down, but Diego… he’s not done yet.” Enzo muttered. Luca gritted his teeth. “We should’ve taken the shot when we had the chance.”“Mateo’s confirmed dead.” Federico's voice came over the radio. “I’m moving my team back to regroup. Orders?”Enzo pressed the radio to his mouth, his voice cold and commanding. “Let Diego go for now. We’ve done enough damage here. Enzo leaned back in his chair, his hands steepled under his chin as Sienna stood at the head of the table, flanked by Luca, Nico, and Federico. The tension in the room was palpable as they awaited her explanation. A map of the city was spread across the table, dotted with red and blue markers representing Mateo’s and Diego’s territories.Sienna pointed to the map. “This is where we take control. Mateo and Diego have been circling each other for weeks, trying to gain the upper hand. We can use their egos against them and force a confrontation.”Luca raised an eyebrow. “Force a confrontation? These two don’t need much encouragement to kill each other. What’s your plan, exactly?”“We leak false information to both sides. Mateo thinks Diego is planning an ambush on his safehouse here—” (she taps a red marker) “—and Diego thinks Mateo is targeting one of his key supply routes here.” (She moves to a blue marker.) “We bait them into striking simultaneously, and when they meet in the crossfir

Enzo stood at the head of the long table, his men seated around him. Luca, Nico, Federico, and Sienna all looked up as Mario, one of Enzo’s messengers, entered the room with a letter in hand. Mario's face was tight with tension as he handed it to Enzo. “It’s from Diego Torres. A courier delivered it this morning.”Enzo unfolded the letter, his dark eyes scanning the elegant script. His jaw clenched as he read, and he tossed it onto the table for the others to see.“Diego’s proposing a truce.” Enzo scoffed. “A truce?” Nico snorted. “After everything he’s done? He must think we’re fools.”“Or desperate.” Luca said grimly. “He knows we’ve been taking losses. He wants us to bite.”Sienna picked up the letter, reading it carefully. “It’s... polished.” She said thoughtfully. “Too polished. Diego’s not the type to extend an olive branch unless there’s a dagger hidden behind it.”“So what’s the angle?” Federico asked. “If it’s a trap, why even bother with the formalities?”Enzo leaned forwar

The room was dimly lit, with a single lamp casting flickering shadows over the scattered documents on the table. Sienna leaned over a dossier, her brow furrowed. Across from her, Luca sat with his arms crossed, his usual skepticism replaced by quiet focus.“Look at this.” Sienna pointed at a document. “Transfers, encrypted communications, all routed through dummy accounts tied to Diego’s shell companies. There’s no way this isn’t coordinated.”Luca leaned forward. “So you’re saying we have spies in the organization feeding intel directly to Torres?”Sienna nodded. “Not just spies. A network. This didn’t start overnight. Whoever’s running this has been building it for years.”Luca exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. “Damn it. Enzo needs to know.”“Not yet.” Sienna countered firmly. “If we alert him now, we risk tipping off the network. We need to dismantle it quietly, piece by piece.”Luca narrowed his eyes. “You’re asking me to keep this from him? That’s a dangerous game
