As she wiped her hands, her eyes remained on the ringing phone. She had just stepped out of the shower when it began to ring.
After thoroughly drying her hand, she tapped on the green button and placed it on a loudspeaker.
"Karen?" Dennis's voice croaked through the phone's speakers.
"Yes, Dennis. Is everything alright?"
" Yes. I just called to ask if you would like to join us for dinner at the Abbey's tonight."
"How's Destiny?" She first asks, wondering why he'd think of dining when his granddaughter is still fighting to live.
"She was discharged yesterday so it means she's getting well isn't it?"
"Yes. I'm glad to hear." She responded in a melanch
