Chapter 2

‘Ash,’ I whispered in my mind as soon as I saw him walking not far from where I am standing.

I then immediately turned around and hid my face as the scene from my dreams flashed in my mind.

Ahhh! I am too embarrassed to face him.

But hey what are you doing? That man does not even know that you exist, tsk tsk tsk.

Even though we have been classmates since elementary and would always meet on the way to school as his house is just ahead of ours he still does not notice me.

But where are you even coming from Myrtle? You are a half-ling and he is a royal, there is no way that he will give a d*mn about your existence.

After turning around again I was surprised after I saw him up close. He was just in front of me which let me look at how handsome he is.

Waaah, he really is very handsome especially with his serious face. Well, he never smiled once in the first place.

And even though I was only looking on his side view I almost screamed, what is more when I saw his whole face?

Ack! What are you thinking Myrtle? You are so embarrassing!

W-wait, b-but why is he...

D-did he just tilted his head to look at me?

Oh sh*t did he just smiled at me?!

Ahhh! He is walking towards me, what am I going to do?

I abruptly took a step backwards in surprise but he continued to walk closer to me.

“Daphne,” he called which instantly froze my whole body.

It was just the same tone as to how he called me in my dreams!

Wait, is this a dream too?

“Daphne,” Ash called me again!

“Daphne!”

“H-huh?” I confusedly asked after a loud and irritated yell suddenly snapped me back to reality.

I looked at the man in front of me and he was obviously annoyed.

He then raised his hand and pointed at the bus not far from where we are.

“The bus driver has been honking the whole time. Are you deaf?!” His voice was very loud which instantly stunned me.

H-he was so different with the man in my dreams. He looked very angry as he turned around to walk towards the bus.

I stared as his back as he stopped from walking but did not bother turning around to face me again.

“Just tell us if you want to walk or not. Do not make us wait for you,” he seriously said before proceeding to the front seat.

I then immediately gathered my courage and run to the bus. If I walk to school I will not make it to the first subject.

But why do I suddenly feel so heavy inside? Is it because I expected too much of myself because of those dreams?

Tsh, you really are a loser Myrtle.

After climbing up the bus I immediately sensed the disgusted look of my classmates whom I knew that they still think I should not be in the same bus with them.

Ack, I almost forgot about this bus who always picked us early in the morning. No one is exempted even the queen’s son who always sat in the front seat.

“Oh my G, my morning is already ruined because of someone.”

“You are right girl. If only we can speak to the principal about this.”

I heard some girls talking behind but all I could do was bow my head down. They are right in the first place, I also feel that I do not belong here.

Huh? Who is texting me? It could not be my parents since they only call whenever they had something to urgently say.

I slowly opened my phone’s screen and was surprised to see a new number in my inbox.

09079629*** : Myrtle, I have been mastering my courage and finally I am ready. Can you meet me at the old gym before class? I wanted to tell you something very important. Ash <3

I immediately looked in front where he was sitting and saw him busily looking at his phone.

Does this mean he really sent the message to me? But why did he call me Myrtle?

Hey, why are you asking that? It does not mean that because you dreamed of him calling you Daphne only, he would be calling you that in real life. Stop hallucinating!

But why do I suddenly feel impatient of the time? Does this mean I am expecting that this message is real?

I looked at the rear view mirror in front and caught Ash gazing at me before abruptly looking the other way.

Sh*t my heart skipped a beat!

After a while, my long wait is over. The bus driver parked the bus on the parking lot and since I was the person in front I got the chance to hurriedly run towards the old gym without being noticed.

There is still 20 minutes free time before we start the classes and so I do not worry of coming in late.

The old gym is 5 minutes away from the parking lot so I really had to run.

Which is more safe since it was already surrounded by long grasses as no one wanted to enter anymore after it got abandoned.

I slowly pushed the door in and opened it to let myself inside.

As expected, I did not see anyone since I knew I was the first one to arrive because I run.

5 minutes before the class starts and Ash was still not here. I looked at my phone and there was no text message from him.

“where is he?” I whispered as I looked behind me.

I just hope that nothing bad happened to him.

Ahhh, I will just ask him later. But for now I really have to run or I will be late for my class. Especially that our first period teacher is very strict with the time.

I can not afford getting demerits from her or I will not make it to my graduation! This is the only way I knew I can get out of this hell place.
