Oscar who heard Shopia Barney’s words, his face changed slightly. He looked uneasy in his seat. Feeling that someone was watching, Oscar tried to look and found Mika’s suspicious gaze.

Hey, what are you looking at?!

Sighing inwardly, Oscar looked away from the kid. His heart grew faint.

“Mr. Finch, you look pale. Are you sick?” reprimanded Mika sounding concerned. But the corners of the little girl's lips were slightly raised. It looked full of mockery.

“What? Uh, I’m fine. Just didn’t sleep well last night.” Oscar replied while trying to smile naturally.

There was an ‘oh’ from the little mouth.

Oscar cursed inwardly. Exactly who were these kids? Fay Willmer only said that they were her friend’s children. But why are they still in this place and sticking like glue to that girl? And why didn’t the person who investigated Fay Willmer say anything about them?

The first time Oscar saw them, he ignored them and didn’t attach any importance to their existence. Today, he felt he had to fin

Oscar Finch arrived almost an hour later. All those waiting had frowning faces. Oscar who saw that didn’t understand where he went wrong. Didn’t he say he would pick them up after lunch? The children and Fay sat in the back seat. Meanwhile, Oscar who drove the car himself today seemed to be sitting behind the wheel with an unhappy face.Do you consider me a personal driver? But not wanting to get into trouble with the weird ‘kids’ behind him, Oscar kept his mouth shut and drove the car slowly towards the hospital. So annoying actually! He was forced to go through this charade for the sake of his family and company. After only a few minutes of driving, Fay suddenly exclaimed. “Mr. Finch, we’re starving. Can’t we stop at a restaurant first? I think I’ll pass out when I get to the hospital if I have an empty stomach.”Oscar frowned. “I thought you had eaten at home?”“There’s nothing at home to eat. You know, I’m very poor. And these two kids keep eating away at my finances. I thought

“Alice, I know you are my Alice.” Mrs. Barney roared between happiness and sadness over their long loss. She hugged Fay tightly as if she was afraid she would slip away again.Fay felt her breath catch. She looked up at Mr. Barney who stood behind his wife, asking for an explanation even though there was no need for one at the moment. Shopia’s hugs and tears had already provided more answers than anything else.Eaton Barney nodded in agreement.“Congratulations Mommy, you’ve found your real mom and dad.” Mike couldn’t help but say something. His congratulations were more of a sarcasm than an expression of happiness. The show in front of him irritated the boy.Over there, Oscar Finch tried to keep a straight face. He had enough experience not to show his emotions if he didn’t want to be the target of the sharp tongues of Fay Willmer’s two twins or what everyone would now call Alice Barney. After Shopia’s crying subsided, Fay slowly tried to extricate herself from the woman’s embrace. Handy Finch was handsome with brown hair and a seemingly irreverent gaze. As they were introduced, the man’s eyes roamed over Fay from head to toe. His lascivious smile made Fay want to punch Handy in the head. Maybe something broken in there could be connected with a few swats. It turned out that their guests tonight were Oscar Finch’s family. Mrs. Oscar Finch was a gentlewoman. Her voice was so quiet when she spoke that Fay had to be extra focused on the movement of her lips if she didn’t want to misunderstand what she was saying.Handy’s sister, on the other hand, was a young girl with eyes that looked like her mother. She was two years younger than Fay. Her name is Kelsey Finch. She looks attached to her mother, Virginia Finch. Like her mother, she doesn’t talk much and only occasionally uses her voice. The star of the evening was Fay. And for some reason, the girl felt like Handy was thrust upon her and forced to get close to her.Mike and Mika had put on a bad face the first ti

This time it was Oscar who coughed as soon as he heard Fay’s words. In his opinion, this girl really can’t judge herself. Who is Cade Goldwin that she can marry so easily? All of Axton’s women dream of him. And Fay whined about wanting the number one man like she was demanding her favorite candy.Meanwhile, Mike and Mika can only sneer at that.If only what you said was true, Mommy! Some time passed without anyone responding.Fay looked around with a confused expression. “Daddy, can’t I marry Cade Goldwin?” She threw the question now to Mr. Barney. The man cleared his throat briefly before answering. “Not that you can’t. But don’t you have to meet him first and see if Mr. Goldwin likes you or not? We can’t just ask him to marry you, can we?”Mr. Barney wanted to say that Cade Goldwin was an impossibility. He was reluctant to tell Fay that the Goldwins couldn’t compare to Barney’s family. The Goldwins were at the top of the pyramid and Barney was at the bottom.Fay’s smile grew. “I’ve

Two young men not far apart in age sat across the table from each other in a café not far from Fay’s college. Kevin Blair looked calm. He had recognized Handy Finch and had an unfavorable impression of him. “Are you his girlfriend?” Handy Finch was unhappy with his question. Kevin Blair’s status could not be underestimated and it made him feel threatened. “I wanted to say that. Unfortunately, we’re just friends.” Kevin said honestly. Handy’s smile immediately broke out. He was now relieved. “That’s good. Otherwise, you’d be disappointed. Fay is my fiancée. We will get married soon.” Fay couldn’t refuse anyway. They were going to get married anyway in the end. There was nothing wrong with getting rid of obstacles early. Kevin’s brow furrowed as soon as he heard Handy’s confession. This man was a notorious playboy who had made many victims. Suddenly getting married? Kevin couldn’t believe it. Where would Fay know a man like that? “Then why did Fay ask me to pick her up earlier?

The next day, Fay went with a driver to her college. Despite her adamant refusal, the loving Mrs. Barney gently insisted until Fay could only accept being driven in the luxurious vehicle. She was disgusted by the thought of the many eyes that would look at her suspiciously. Fay who usually took the bus, today came in a luxury vehicle like a young lady of a rich family. It's just that Fay didn't think that the first stare like that would come from Callie who happened to be entering the gate. The girl's delicate eyebrows furrowed at the sight."Don't overdo it!" said Fay as she tapped her best friend on the shoulder and walked ahead."Who is he?" Callie followed with a question."What?" Fay pretended not to understand. She walked on humming merrily. A discordant and indistinct song flowed from her lips.Callie felt her ears bothered by the singing. "The one who dropped you off earlier. Don't tell me it was Kevin.""It wasn't. He's my driver." Fay replied indifferently. Then she continu

“Fay, what’s wrong?” Mrs. Barney asked worriedly when she saw Fay’s confused expression.“I—I have to go. Something happened to Mika.” Fay stammered to herself under the woman’s curious gaze.Mrs. Barney did not know about the twins’ relationship with the Goldwin family. Fay had no intention of telling her. When Mike and Mika returned, she had only said that they were staying at their father’s place. But Mrs. Barney had a worse suspicion. She thought Mika had had an accident or something and her face became worried.“Let me accompany you. I want to see her too.” Fay moved her hands in the air and soon realized that the woman had thought too far.“Mom, this isn’t an emergency. Mika just has a fever. But they say she keeps looking for me. I’ll see her for a while. You don’t have to worry.” Fay explained with a smile, trying to dispel any bad thoughts in Shopia Barney’s head. And before the woman could say anything more tr

The fifth day of the honeymoon. The sun had begun to rise by a quarter. Inside the spacious and luxurious bedroom, it was quiet. The sound of the hanging ornaments on the balcony blowing in the wind, tinkling faintly, was the only thing heard. On the floor of the room, men's and women's clothes were scattered. The scene was a little chaotic and ambiguous. Meanwhile, the bed was even messier. It was as if a storm had come into this room last night and then left after it was satisfied with destroying everything. Fay's eyelids twitched before opening. The first sight she saw was the exposed muscles of her chest. And the scent of last night's intimacy immediately entered her sense of smell. She became dazed for a moment. Every time she woke up for several mornings, she still felt unfamiliar with this scene. The man holding her, the smell of his body, the whole room, all new and unfamiliar. Fay wanted to refuse to believe that this was real, but she was helpless. She had become the prop

Cade Goldwin and Fay Willmer's wedding was closed to the public. It was held on a private island with no more than a hundred guests. They would only run a story on the Goldwin Group's official web page. The person who was most relieved about it was Fay Willmer. She didn't care about her status and what people thought of her. But the Goldwin name was too heavy to carry. She felt it would be troublesome if she had to go everywhere with that special identity. With a closed marriage like this, her identity was only known to a handful of people.Besides a few relatives and close friends, there were also government officials and business associates as well as a few high-class families. Callie rolled her eyeballs. "Idiot. Do I look like a bride-to-be?"Mrs. Goldwin's brow furrowed. Had Fay forgotten that she was the one getting married? Last night Cade had informed her that Fay had agreed to marry him. So, he told the Goldwin family to come for the wedding formalities. The celebration itself would be arranged later. Cade is worried that she might change her mind. So he planned to get the marriage book first.Fay scratched her head with a puzzled expression. "I think you do look like a bride-""Talking nonsense again? Aren't you guys getting married today? Don't say that you don't remember." Callie was a little annoyed by Fay's inaction in using her brain."Huh? I-I-" Fay looked at the children for someone to explain."Mommy, Daddy is done getting ready. If the results are bad, I want you to promise me to take care of the kids. I might die. Who knows?""Don't talk nonsense!" Fay suddenly felt her throat tighten. It reminded her of Audrey before her death. "You're not going to die.""Everyone dies." Cade reminded."At least you won't die that quickly." Fay felt her tears about to fall. "Let's get up!""Promise me first-""Promise what?" Fay's voice almost broke. "You won't die. So I don't have to look after those two annoying kids."Cade silently glanced at the eyes that were starting to fog up. God, this was a bit much. He was quite aware that Fay would probably go berserk if she found out she had been played. He took Fay's trembling hand. Fay didn't want to see Cade, but the children whined and kept insisting. She couldn't stand hearing the whining of a child. Reluctantly she went too to the man's room with two pairs of tiny hands dragging her along."I hope you guys aren't tricking me," Fay warned.Arriving at the room that Fay was familiar with having been trapped in all night, she saw Cade lying pale under the covers. His eyes were tightly closed. "Daddy's body is hot. Looks like a fever. Mommy check it." Mika knew that Fay suspected they had lied.Last night Mika and Mike slept in his father's room. In the morning Mike woke up to the feeling of his father's burning skin. When Mike tried to wake him up and ask how he was, all he got in response was a sigh. His father's eyes had opened a little, but then closed again and did not open again.Fay reluctantly touched the man's forehead. Just for a moment, she pulled her hand away again. It was really hot. Not a trick. But how is this? Was it because of the rain at Trix

"I'm not curious. I can confirm that Daddy will talk about their wedding plans.""But I am curious. I wonder if Mommy will blush when she says she agrees to marry Daddy." Mika giggled softly at the thought. That sounded interesting. Mike couldn't resist the temptation to take a peek."All right, let's go." Mike finally agreed.Mika gave a thumbs up, praising his brother's decision. The two walked hand in hand, sneaking along in the direction the two adults had gone. The door to the balcony was open, signaling that someone was out there.
