From the look on his face, Cade looked unhappy. He glanced at Fay who had finished with her work.

“How did you know I was at the apartment?”

“I stopped by the company and Langdon said you were home for lunch.”

There was an annoyed sigh from Cade. Just now Fay had interrupted his meal. Now his sister had suddenly shown up at his apartment. Why wasn’t anyone letting him calm down?

“Wait a minute!” Cade switched off the line and looked at Fay who was also unintentionally turning to him.

“What’s wrong? You look like an idiot,” Fay scolded, trying to shake off her momentary fascination. She had thought that Cade was very handsome when he received the call.

Cade ignored Fay’s words trying to provoke a scene with him.

“My sister is at the door. I want you to stay in your room until he gets home. I don’t want her to see me with you.”

“Who wants to be with you? But I’m very hungry right now. I have to cook something.” Fay glanced at the table. Cade seemed to have ordered many types of food.

Cade looked lazy as he controlled the lever and brought the pincer to a chocolate doll.Stamp! Missed? Damn it!The doll was only pinched in the ear and slipped out before reaching the exit hole. Cade turned to Fay who was giggling next to him. Who else was she laughing at if not him.The man gritted his teeth and put the coin back in. Cade behind the wheel smiled contentedly on the way home. Behind him, in the passenger seat, three people with sullen faces sat crammed together. The three of them sat with hundreds of dolls of various types and colors. They even filled the front passenger seat and the floor of the car.Fay threw a doll at Cade. “Not creative at all!”“Hey, you’re interrupting my concentration!” Cade protested as he felt a soft object hit the back of his head.“Mommy, daddy is driving.” Mike reminded. They could get into trouble if Mommy kept distracting Daddy. This time Fay threw another doll at the boy. “It’s because of you, Mike.”“Why me?” Mike protested. He didn’t know why he was being blamed.“Because you brought your father into the game. Look at the result, we’re filled with these stupid dolls!”Mike just grimaced at Fay’s words. Fay waved her hands in the air. “It’s not me,” she said frantically.Callie laughed. “Why worry like that? No one told me this was you. I just saw this jacket exactly like the one you’re wearing. But I don’t think Cade Goldwin’s girlfriend would wear a cheap jacket like yours. It’s probably from one of the famous brands.”Callie could guess that the woman was Mike and Mika’s ‘mommy’ even though they had never met in person. Even so, there was no way her brother would take on a slovenly nanny like Fay.In front of Callie, Fay curled her lips. Feeling offended by Caliie’s remark about her cheap jacket. But what could she say? She did get this jacket from a cheap deal at a clothing store.“No offense.” Callie patted the shoulder of Fay whose face looked sour. “In the future, I promise to buy you a good jacket.”“No need. I can buy it myself.” Fay went to class first. She ignored Callie’s calls for her to wait.During the lesson, Fay’s mind was filled with gossip about Cade. About how Cad

Cade heard the door to his room being knocked. He was still going through a few more documents before going to bed. Without lifting his face from the sheets in his hands, he said to the knocker, “Come in!”It was too late to realize he had made a mistake once he saw who was coming.Fay appeared to be wearing the oversized T-shirt she had worn two days ago. Three days ago. As far as Cade could remember, the girl had never worn anything else. Did she have a dozen of the same shirt? Or did she just keep wearing them over and over again without washing them? If the latter was true, how disgusting! And what was in that girl’s hand? A drinking cup? Did Fay make something for her?“What’s the need?” Cade didn’t want to linger looking at the girl. He looked back down at the document in his hand.Fay placed her coffee on Cade’s desk. “From the kids,” she said simply. The idea of taking the kids’ names came to mind. Cade would have a big head if he knew Fay made it.Cade didn’t even glance at

Was there a nanny? Oh, Pricilla was getting very curious. And angry. She couldn’t possibly direct that anger at Cade. It was useless. She would only burn herself. It was the nanny who would be the target of her anger. There had to be something here, Pricilla was sure. It wasn’t what Langdon had said at his press conference. She was sure no one would believe that nonsense about the nanny. She had to meet the girl in person and determine for herself whether she was worthy of being Pricilla’s opponent or just a stupid, lowly girl. Pricilla had to find a way to get up to Cade’s apartment. While in Flyod apartment.“Don’t you have your room? Why do you have to sleep in Miss Willmer’s room?” Cade sat the little girl on his lap.“I want to sleep in mommy’s room?” whined Mika. Cade di

The fifth day of the honeymoon. The sun had begun to rise by a quarter. Inside the spacious and luxurious bedroom, it was quiet. The sound of the hanging ornaments on the balcony blowing in the wind, tinkling faintly, was the only thing heard. On the floor of the room, men's and women's clothes were scattered. The scene was a little chaotic and ambiguous. Meanwhile, the bed was even messier. It was as if a storm had come into this room last night and then left after it was satisfied with destroying everything. Fay's eyelids twitched before opening. The first sight she saw was the exposed muscles of her chest. And the scent of last night's intimacy immediately entered her sense of smell. She became dazed for a moment. Every time she woke up for several mornings, she still felt unfamiliar with this scene. The man holding her, the smell of his body, the whole room, all new and unfamiliar. Fay wanted to refuse to believe that this was real, but she was helpless. She had become the prop

Callie rolled her eyeballs. "Idiot. Do I look like a bride-to-be?"Mrs. Goldwin's brow furrowed. Had Fay forgotten that she was the one getting married? Last night Cade had informed her that Fay had agreed to marry him. So, he told the Goldwin family to come for the wedding formalities. The celebration itself would be arranged later. Cade is worried that she might change her mind. So he planned to get the marriage book first.Fay scratched her head with a puzzled expression. "I think you do look like a bride-""Talking nonsense again? Aren't you guys getting married today? Don't say that you don't remember." Callie was a little annoyed by Fay's inaction in using her brain."Huh? I-I-" Fay looked at the children for someone to explain."Mommy, Daddy is done getting ready. But you haven't even taken a shower yet. Hurry up." Mika also looked impatient.Fay instantly panicked. "Who said I'm getting married? Fay's brow furrowed. "Talk about it later. Come on, get up. I'll help." Cade held Fay's hand, he held it tightly. "Listen first. If the results are bad, I want you to promise me to take care of the kids. I might die. Who knows?""Don't talk nonsense!" Fay suddenly felt her throat tighten. It reminded her of Audrey before her death. "You're not going to die.""Everyone dies." Cade reminded."At least you won't die that quickly." Fay felt her tears about to fall. "Let's get up!""Promise me first-""Promise what?" Fay's voice almost broke. "You won't die. So I don't have to look after those two annoying kids."Cade silently glanced at the eyes that were starting to fog up. God, this was a bit much. He was quite aware that Fay would probably go berserk if she found out she had been played. He took Fay's trembling hand. "Promise to marry me if it's all right," Cade spoke the words carefully word by word, as if afraid she wouldn't hear him.The two kids in the back snickered silently. Da

Fay didn't want to see Cade, but the children whined and kept insisting. She couldn't stand hearing the whining of a child. Reluctantly she went too to the man's room with two pairs of tiny hands dragging her along."I hope you guys aren't tricking me," Fay warned.Arriving at the room that Fay was familiar with having been trapped in all night, she saw Cade lying pale under the covers. His eyes were tightly closed. "Daddy's body is hot. Looks like a fever. Mommy check it." Mika knew that Fay suspected they had lied.Last night Mika and Mike slept in his father's room. In the morning Mike woke up to the feeling of his father's burning skin. When Mike tried to wake him up and ask how he was, all he got in response was a sigh. His father's eyes had opened a little, but then closed again and did not open again.Fay reluctantly touched the man's forehead. Just for a moment, she pulled her hand away again. It was really hot. Not a trick. But how is this? Was it because of the rain at Trix

"I'm not curious. I can confirm that Daddy will talk about their wedding plans.""But I am curious. I wonder if Mommy will blush when she says she agrees to marry Daddy." Mika giggled softly at the thought. That sounded interesting. Mike couldn't resist the temptation to take a peek."All right, let's go." Mike finally agreed.Mika gave a thumbs up, praising his brother's decision. The two walked hand in hand, sneaking along in the direction the two adults had gone. The door to the balcony was open, signaling that someone was out there. A cold breeze blew in, sweeping away the two small faces poking out silently from behind the shutters. There was only a long chair outside. There was no shadow of anyone. Both children were astonished. "Where are th

When Fay opened her eyes, a charming face was very close to her.Fay pushed. With just one hand. While her other hand, which turned out to be wearing an IV needle, was held by Cade."What are you doing?" Fay stammered.Cade's breath hit her face, making Fay dare not breathe air. She remembered this scent once upon a time."What do you think?" Cade smiled seductively.Fay was confused. "Stay away from me. You can't be impudent!" She then remembered her confession in front of Audrey's grave.
