He froze.
He knew what she had found, but he didn’t want to accept it. Tami wasn’t supposed to see that. At least not yet.
Slowly, he tilted his head in her direction, seeing her holding up a bottle of the pills he hadn’t touched in days, between her slim fingers. He gulped, spinning fully to face her and her questioning eyes.
"They're uh-" He didn’t know how to put it.
Tami saw his reluctance, or uncertainty rather, and took the job of reading them herself.
'Ambilify', it read, and she knew too well from studies what they were. She grabbed another bottle, knowing that it was probably wrong to be snooping
TAMI SIGHED in delight as she recorded her new daily log. For the first time since she started, this one had a positive assonance to it. She stretched her stiff muscles as she let her eyes adjust to the light of the new morning. Hunger called her name, but her heart called for something else. She starched her legs over the bed, immediately sinking them in the fluffy softness of her huge carpet. Since she and Raphael are somewhat on the right track, she decided not to wait until he came to her room today. Instead, she’d go and see him. It was barely seven in the morning, and he usually visits her at eight with breakfast. But Tami couldn’t stay in her slumber any longer as she had always. Every second of the night she'd dream of the almost fairytale-lik
TAMI SEEMED nervous as they both descended the grand stairs that led to the huge living room she recognized from the day they left for Puerto Rico. She hadn’t been around the house since her arrival, so this was both odd and exciting for her. Tami also appreciated how the floors sparkled and shone to the point where she could see herself in it, and the grand chandelier hung marvelously from the very high ceiling.Even though this was the second time seeing the magnificent living room, she was still stuck in awe. She suddenly got excited to get a full tour of the house. It was huge, but that oddly made her want to do it even more."Did you design this yourself?" Tami asked as Raphael slowly led her towards the kitchen area.
"Hello?""M-m-mom?" The single word came out in so many syllables, as the familiar voice filled Tami's ears. A sob almost broke from her lips when her mother gasped."It can't be," she mumbled, sounding stunned. "My baby girl. Tami is that really you?"The tears she had tried to contain came rushing down when her mother called her name. The relief in her voice was enough to set Tami's heart at peace forever."Yes mama. It's me." Tami threw a hand over her mouth to muffle her sobs, remembering that she needed to convince her mother that she was okay, and that they don’t need to worry anymore. But crying like this would give the wrong idea.Tami could hear her mother calling for her sister in pure joy, telling her that Ta
Day 21 I can't believe it has really been twenty-one days. It feels like it has been a whole century since I've been here with Raphael. I know my daily logs are unnecessary at this point, as I no longer intend to use them against my dear love. Yes, I love him. I love him with all my heart and I don’t think I could ever love someone like I love Raphael. He grants me happiness daily, as you could see by reading my daily logs, and even though sometimes he becomes detached, withdrawn and he would randomly believe that I would up and leave him someday, I could never. I knew it was the BPD doing its best to him, and I kept encouraging him to book a therapy session once a week, just so he co

"Checkmate." Tami beamed proudly as she stopped the timer, indicating that she had won yet another battle of chess.Raphael squinted his eyes, as he playfully glared at her. It was quite obvious that Tami had a competitive spirit, but it was far more than he anticipated."You cheated," he accused, inching closer to her.She giggled. "I didn’t.""You did. What's your secret? Why do you keep winning?""Because I'm good." She shrugged, reigning innocence. "It's not my fault you suck."Raphael growled playfully before launching at her. She squirmed and tried to
THE WARM rays of the sun beamed down on Tami's face as she sat on the cool balcony attached to her room. She watched the waters beneath her roll in with all its crystal-like beauty as it crashed against the coastal rocks. It seemed like a perfect day to have breakfast on the balcony. She had realized how much she loved being on the balconies, whether it was hers of Raphael’s. So, when the sea's winds knocked against her windows and woke her up this morning, she knew she simply had to eat there.Mrs. Garcia had prepared her favorite meal, since Raphael wasn’t home and she was feeling sad. Mrs. Garcia is such a sweet woman, and despite the questions about Tami, she always treated her like a daughter. They appreciated each other in an odd way. Even though they don't talk much, their relationship was never straine
Five Years Later“Love always finds a way. Years may pass, people may change but love always remains the same. As for these two, they knew their journey had only just begun, yet they couldn’t wait to see where this road called life would take them. The end.”Tami beamed brightly at her husband as she read the finishing line of her book. It had been quite a hassle getting it there, but she was proud that she did it.Raphael returned her smile wholeheartedly as he gently caressed her shoulder, but the glint in his eyes told Tami that he was about to make a joke about something—something that she is not likely to like.&
Part threeConfusion, guilt, disbelief and fear. That was all that was going around the room as the lawyer presented Tami’s logs on the screen.Raphael looked over his shoulder in pure innocence as he silently asked Tami what those were. When the police came to him and told him that they had a warrant to search his house on the island a few days ago, he didn’t resist, seeing that they already made it public that they were staying there. He didn’t e
Part Two***The low buzz of chatter went around the room as Tami stepped inside. Her eyes immediately landed on her family a few seats down. Her heart warmed at the sight. After everything that has happened, plus what just happened outside with Malik, their support meant the world to her. Especially Amy. She has been warming up to Tami again ever since Raphael’s arrest. Slowly, she learnt and understood why Tami stayed and considered her feelings. Tami acknowledged that she hurt them greatly, and she will forever live with it, especially not being there when their dad died. But they were on the road to recovery. All the Knowles women, together. And to make it better, last night they all had dinner with Raphael for the first time. They simply forgot about what would happen the next day, and acted as if they were simply a family meeting Tami’s love interest for the first tim
Note: This scene is broken into three parts. I hope you read all three parts. It's super important!Happy reading! ***Part oneTHE DRESS felt rather roomy on Tami as she gave herself one last glance in the car window that played as a substitute mirror. The view of the courthouse behind her sent shivers down her spine, but yet again she was reminded that she needed to be strong for this. Raphael’s preliminary hearing was really hard for her. The extra space in the dress proved just how stressful this past week had been. Not to mention the fact that she hasn’t seen him much either. He was either too busy with his lawyer, or too busy trying to keep a reign on the rumours going around, that could potentially damper his image. However, despite all the stress they both have been going through, this hearing brought them together more
IT HAD been hours since Tami heard the news, and it all still seemed surreal.Raphael had been the sole reason why she had even been holding up, and now he's gone too?It couldn’t be true. So, Tami didn’t believe it.Fifty-two times. It had been fifty-two times that she had called him, and even when the call went to voicemail every time, Tami was convinced that he was still out and free.Yet despite all that, she still couldn’t help the nudge in her mind— the only voice that was making sense, because it was telling her the truth. The truth that she had been in denial about for the past five hours, but knew she would have to escape from eventually.
“Please Tami? Today?” Malik had been trying for the past ten minutes to convince Tami to have lunch with him, but to no avail.Even after Tami saw him yesterday and felt pumped about the idea, things have changed since then.Within 24 hours, two different cops visited her house, apparently the case about her alleged kidnapping had been reopened. Heavens knows why, but Tami had a feeling that a certain brown eyed man had something to do with it.After seeing how he left yesterday, the way he eyed Raphael, Tami knew that Malik was the one who did it.Also, Raphael stopped by about an hour ago, talking about the very thing. Cops had been to his hotel room, asking about his relation to Tami
THE RAIN was a light patter against the umbrella, but it was the only sound Tami heard. She never heard the sound of what the priest had been saying in the sermon, nor all the nice words that supporters shared. It was all drowned in the sound of the rain and her own sniffles.Raphael held her close to his side with his arm around her waist.Even though he didn’t know Mr. Knowles, the kind words of friends and well wishers gave him just enough information that he needed to know about this wonderful man.Not to mention that since the two whole days that Tami had been home, she had barely said a word to him.Things were just about the same on that part. Her sister was still pissed at her, and her mother had been busy with family, friends and the media, talking about her husband and her returnee daughter. He had tried to be there for her the best he cou
IT WAS almost four p.m. when Raphael's driver, Nick, pulled up to Tami's house.Nick had been rather quiet all the way here. The last time he saw his boss and Tami was the night Raphael left for the airport, then Nick heard all over the news that the woman was 'missing'. Poor Nick didn’t know what to do or how to approach the situation, but he surely minded his own business.Nobody spoke all the way here. Not Raphael, not Nick and obviously not Tami. They sat outside the familiar house for over ten minutes, simply because Tami wouldn't let go of Raphael. She knew she was home, but she refused to open her eyes and face reality. The minute she steps through that door, she knew it would al
THE SILENCE was deafening, but no one dared breaking it.There was nothing to say, and Raphael didn’t know how to approach her either. What started out as a normal, happy morning, turned into a hectic day of packing and arranging flights. She sat at the window alone, staring out the window as the plane lifted from the ground. She hadn’t said anything for the past four hours except 'yes or no', and it was quite worrying. After seeing that post on her sister’s Story, Tami had gone into what seemed like a state of shock. Her eyes weren’t focused and her breathing had never leveled since this morning. It didn’t even seem like she was aware that they were on their way to another country. All she did was stare.Sighing, Raphael pushed a duffle bag under the chair when the plane had leveled in the air. He had to make a lo
