I was fast asleep late into the night when I heard the door come open. Instinctively I opened my eyes, sat up on the bed and put on the lamp beside me. With the room dimly illuminated now, I looked up at the figure standing in the middle of the room, staring straight at me. "Why are you here?" He questioned gazing at me with an unreadable glint in his eye. He tilted his head while waiting for me to speak. I was hesitant to speak at first knowing how he was but then I garnered courage and eventually spoke up. "I don't want to sleep in the same room as you anymore." I stated, avoiding his piercing gaze as I did. "My decision is final and there's nothing you would do to change it." I uttered firmly. I stared up at him after a few moments of silence. He was not saying anything and it somehow worried me. "Fine, have it your way." He said as he shoved his right hand into his pant pocket. I was shell shocked that he agreed just like that, I so wanted to blurt my thoughts out but I thoug
I was up as early as five in the morning and by six thirty, I was seated in the car and on my way for the interview. Considering that we left quite early, there was hardly any traffic and we got to Avilla Corp about thirty minutes later. I was an hour early and I had no idea what I would be doing in there so I decided to stay back in the vehicle reading through some stuff on my phone. Miguel and I conversed for a while and before I knew it, it was nearly 8am. I exhaled, feeling my nerves getting to me. I was not sure what to expect, I lowkey feared that what happened with my first interview would repeat itself and I did not want it. "Wish me luck." I said to Miguel before stepping out of the vehicle. I walked through the tinted glass doors and found myself in the exquisite building with a clean wide lobby. It was a skyscraper, just like Damien's and looked just as big and sophisticated. I walked up to the reception to ask for directions to the exact place for the interview.
Damien's POV; I reached for my phone and checked the caller ID for who had been buzzing my phone non stop. I slid the green button and dropped it since it was connected to my airpods m "Miguel." I said into the phone, still focused on my computer screen as I read through some mails. "Good day sir, she's done with her interview." He informed. I hummed. "Anything else I should know?" I probed. "She had a confrontation with some girl who claimed to being your ex while at Starbucks." He sounded really amused and that intrigued me, I wanted to get the full details. "Go on." I said. Miguel went on to narrate what had happened and I chuckled. I never thought Ariana had it in her, she was always so sweet and quiet. I secretly wished I had seen her in action but I was putting her at arm's length now. The call ended and I got back to work. I had lots of meetings to attend, lots of documents to read through, the thousands of staff I had did not reduce my stress at all, it only heigh
Ariana's POV; I reached for my potato chips as I flipped over to the next page of the book I was reading. It was a captivating autobiography of a celebrated author I had been following for years and it had me really hooked. A knock came through my door and I yelled for the person on the other side to come in. It was one of the maids who had come in with a shopping bag, I furrowed my brows in confusion. "What's this?" I asked as she handed it over to me. "Sir's personal assistant said to give this to you, he says there's a note in it that would tell you all you need to know." She said and I nodded. She curtsied before exiting the room. Curiosity got the better part of me and I opened the bag. I pulled out the content which turned out to be an ankle length straight black silk dress which had a drape that trailed down my left shoulder with a long sleeve on the right. It was a straight dress and was not all too dramatic but for the drape it had. I picked up the blue sheet of paper I
I cried a lot, though in silence. I truly hoped that the driver had not noticed or recognized who I was. The ride lasted longer than I had expected and my overthinking mind had worried about being lost. If that happened though, I truly wished I never got to be found, especially by Damien. I breathed in and out after my crying session, watching as we sped into the moonless dark night. The Uber stopped me at the gate of the villa, I got out and walked towards the guards who had perplexed looks on their faces when they saw me. I knew my appearance must have said a lot, my make up had been smeared by tears, my outfit somewhat rumpled, my hair fell back from the up do Fiona had made, I did not know how and when that happened and then I had my shoes in hand too. There was a lot going on with me at that point and I could not care less what was going through their minds. "Mrs Kingston." They acknowledged me with nods as one of them pulled the gate open. I walked the distance to the house
Third person POV; Tracy grinned widely as she strutted farther away from the gym. It was only by chance that she had caught her older brother at the gym revealing the truth behind his very sudden marriage which had left her suspicious for quite a while. This was perfect. So it was all an act? She could not wait to announce this to everyone. It was going to be epic! She got into her room and sat cross legged on her queen sized bed while she thought about the best way to unveil their secret. Tracy picked up her phone and rang the one person who could share her excitement over this matter. "Hey Aleena." She said into the phone with a wide grin. "Hey Tracy what's up?" Aleena responded casually. "I'm good, so I'll just get to the reason why I called." Tracy went on. "What happened?" Aleena went on knowingly. Tracy had apparently been keeping Aleena up to date on everything that concerned Damien as far as she knew. "This one is huge. Brace yourself." Tracy said, piquing Aleena
Ariana's POV; I reached for my pink strawberry flavored lip gloss and rolled it all over my puckered lips as I patted my lips together making sure that it was evened out. I had little to no makeup on as I prepared for the day ahead of me. Just yesterday I had received an email along with a call to congratulate me on getting the job at Aiden's company, Avilla Corp. Words cannot describe how elated I was because I finally got a reason to leave this prison like house everyday. I opted for starting up immediately for this same reason. I reached for my bag after making sure my outfit-which comprised of a black and white long sleeved, below knee length, with a bow stylishly placed on the left side of my waist corporate dress and stilettoes with twisted straps-was in check. With all said and done, I touched up my hair one more time before picking up my matching white Louis Vuitton handbag as I strutted out of the room. I still had some time to get something light for breakfast so I hea
Third Person POV; Tracy marched up into her bedroom, slamming the door behind her. She grunted loudly as she stomped around the room, throwing a fit for absolutely no reason. She had tried working with Aiden some time back but no one had let her. For reasons she could never understand, Damien did not agree to it. In her fit of rage, she decided to not head to her office like she had planned. No one would question her anyway since she was the boss. Tracy owned a fleet of clothing stores, set up and funded by Damien as always. She decided it was best she met up with Aleena so she picked up her handbag and soon sashayed out of the room. She was well on her way out of the house when she stopped at the base of the stairs leading to up to Damien's room. She looked around, making sure that no guard was around to spot her going up there in Damien's absence. She snuck up the stairs and stopped at Damien's door, twisted the knob and pushed it open. She slid in quietly and shut the doo
