It was a pretty long flight and as usual I just wanted to sleep for a really long time after we touched down.
Rome truly is a beautiful place. I saw that when we drove far down into the city headed straight for Damien's resort.
The place was a jaw dropping sight. I expected no less for a man who went all out on everything.
The large expanse of land that had been finely crafted and sculpted to perfection had me wondering how they pulled it off in a space of six months. This should have taken years to set up.
"You like what you see?" He asked, placing his hands on my shoulders as we walked around the place after we were well rested.
"I don't know how to express it in words." I said breathlessly as I looked up at the glittery ceilings.
"It's amazing." I said for lack of a better word to describe it.
"I love the effect it has on you." He smirked. I smiled up at him.
"This project is a huge success. I'm happy for you."
Guests trooped in from all over the place and from our room in the penthouse suite, I saw the huge crowd that waited for us outside, they looked so small from up here. I stared at myself in the mirror. I couldn't believe it was me because I looked so fierce and feisty with the smokey eyeshadow and red lipstick, my cheeks were well highlighted. My sleek ponytail stood tightly behind my head even as my finely laid edges crowned my creamy face. I stared at the form hugging black V-neck sequin dress and rubbed my hands over the material. It shone so brightly in the dark. Damien had it picked out for me because he was going to wear something similar. Speaking of him, he had been away since the fall out that afternoon. The make over team had been doing their magic on me and I did not have time to think about him up until now. I knew after tonight it was going to be a rollercoaster of emotions for all of us. But I didn't want that to bother me. "Don't let anybody see through you." I said
"When are we going back to LA?" I heard her speak to me for the first time that morning.I paused for a second and stared at her. She was seated in a lotus position on the bed. "We'll be leaving tonight." I said. I wanted everything to die down before we went back home. The news of Aleena's pregnancy must have been heard by everyone back home because Aiden was calling to confirm. That woman had some nerve though! She went live on I*******m and announced her pregnancy and when someone asked about the child's father, she casually spewed out that it was me. She had not told me beforehand because she knew I would not let her say anything to anyone if I heard it first so she put me in a tight position. My PR team was working on cleaning up the mess the scandal had made but it was going to be difficult because Aleena was a famous model and she had been linked to me on several occasions so her story was believable. But no matter what, I was going to get the truth out of her. "Okay." She
Our altercation was far from over and we had successfully created a scene that everyone around had gathered to see. "Well, if you weren't depriving him of his marital rights, he wouldn't have come to me." She yelled from the terrace where mom held her to keep her away from me. Lucky for her because she would be crying her eyes out due to pain if she was next to me."My sex life with my husband is none of your business!" I got even more agitated at the thought of what she insinuated. My non-existent sex life with him, that is. I thought."Yeah right. You're unable to satisfy him, your curves are useless!" She spewed."That's it!" I snapped.I forced myself out of Ma Rosa's arms and marched towards the terrace to give the slut a much deserved beating. I was almost there but someone's strong arms pulled me back. I thrashed around, hoping he would let me go but he held on tighter."Damien let me go!" I screamed while my legs were fluttering up in the air."Ariana calm down!" He yelled ba
I marveled at the beautiful house Brianna owned. It was so chic and classy just like her. Her call came in the nick of time. She had just returned from rounding up a shoot in England and reached out when she heard the news. I got emotional and let her know about my new living situation and she sent me her address. And here I was, staring at the drool worthy sight she called home. "Welcome Ariana." She said, majestically strutting down the stairs. My gaze followed her until she stood in front of me and gave me a hug. She ushered me to a seat and had my suitcase taken by one of her helps up to her guestroom. "Thanks for letting me stay here for a while Brianna. This means a lot to me." I said, expressing my gratitude profusely. "Oh it's alright." She said with a dismissive wave. "How are you? Really?" She asked knowingly, holding on to my hand. I let out a shaky breath. "I feel like my whole world is crumbling into pieces and I don't even understand anything going on anymore."
Damien's POV; I downed another glass of whiskey. It burned my throat bringing tears that stung at my eyeballs. I felt miserable, utterly useless, despicable in fact. I had pulled the last straw and Ariana had finally left me. I couldn't count the number of times I thought it was a dream or a prank but each time I looked around my eeriely quiet bedroom, it painfully dawned on me that my wife was gone. As usual, my coping mechanism was to drown myself in work and not think about anything or anyone else. I had called and called and called. She did not pick up. She never did. I threw a fit the day I came home and saw that a lot more of her stuff were missing from the closet we shared and when I asked, I was informed that she had come to take more of her stuff and no one cared to let me know about it. I yelled at my mom who confessed that she was aware of Ariana's visit before hand and had promised to not let me know about it. Everyone in the house bore a brunt of my anger that day.
Ariana's POV; San Diego is a very beautiful place. When I moved into Brianna's beach house, I saw that it was good as new. Scratch that, it's actually a new place. All the furnitures were brand new and covered up to prevent dust. She informed me that she had bought the place so she could come chill for the summer, away from the hustle and bustle of LA life. There were times I would just sit by the beach side all alone because I felt lonely for the few weeks I had been here. I would cry whenever my mind wandered over to my father. I used to scroll over to our chats and read through them, I used to listen to our voice notes and find myself laughing and crying at the same time. I missed all our long calls, our bickerings and never ending arguments over him taking care of his health. A part of me still did not want to believe he was gone. I don't think I'm the only one who feels that way about losing someone, am I? Most of the time when I think about him, it never felt like he had g
Damien's POV; I saw the news and the next thing that crossed my mind was to go straight to San Diego but I was so tied down with work and I couldn't make the trip. A week had gone by so fast and I still hadn't gotten any free time. I had confronted Brianna and even begged her to let me know where Ariana had gone to and she refused to divulge such information claiming she could not betray Ariana's trust as a friend and it was so frustrating that no matter what I offered her, she would not budge. Well now, I didn't need her help anymore. As long as I knew she was in San Diego and she didn't move from there, it was going to be an easy ride from here onwards. I was stuck in my study worrying about what my next move would be when I heard a shrill scream. "Damien!" That was Aleena. I ignored it. I did not have the energy for her attention seeking drama. After a while, I heard my name again. "Damien!" That was my mom. I sat up. "Damien!" That was Amy. I stood up from my seat and briskl
Damien's POV; The hospital room fell quiet when I walked in. I had called Aleena's mother who lived in Palm springs and she arrived in LA the next morning. No one in the house had volunteered to look after Aleena so I just had to bring her mother here. "Hello Damien." I stared at her mother and inwardly cringed at the heavy makeup that covered her face. The extravagant outfit she had on proved how unfit she was for the task but Aleena's her daughter, she has to do the right thing. "Hello Mrs Berkeley." I said courteously. "Just call me Katrina." She said and I nodded. "Aleena. How are you feeling today?" She pursed her lips and sat up to look at me properly. "I'm better but I still feel a little pain here and there." She said. I nodded and dropped the bouquet of flowers Amy got for me to give her. "Thank you." She softly said and I nodded. "It's so sad that you two lost the baby." I heard her mother comment. We both simultaneously turned to her. "But," she continued. "I'm s
