Chapter 67

Julian's POV

"Well... you have no choice but to do what I say," I said, my voice steady despite the tension crackling in the room.

"And why would I do what you say?" Alex barked back, defiance lighting up his features.

It had been three days since Alex was pulled from the inferno that nearly claimed his life, and today was the first time I faced him. Marcus had moved him into my house just yesterday after his discharge from the hospital. The sight of him tied to the edge of the bed was both satisfying and unsettling; he looked vulnerable, yet the fire in his eyes remained.

"It's your choice, actually," I shot back, leaning closer. "Do what I say, or I’ll hand you over to the police." My tone left no room for argument, a finality hanging in the air like a thick fog.

"You’re not even telling me what you want me to do," he spat, anger boiling over. "And even if you did, I wouldn’t work with you. You snatched the girl I love from me."

Chapter 68 Julian's POV A WEEK LATER I stepped out of my office, This past week has been damn crazy! It had been nothing short of chaotic. Alex still hadn’t agreed to work with me, and I hadn’t been able to see Sophie since my last visit. The longing to be with her gnawed at me; I missed her more than I could express. Isabella had been a lifeline, sending me pictures and videos of Sophie, and each one reminded me of the warmth of her smile and the way her laughter lit up a room. I cherished those glimpses, but they only deepened my ache to be with her in person. I miss her reactions whenever I touch her. Heck! I miss everything about her! As I navigated through the bustling office, I tried to shake off the anxiety that had settled within me. A swarm of reporters descended on me immediately i got out of the building like bees drawn to sugar. It had been a while since I’d faced this kind of media frenzy, and the sudden attention sent a wave of feelings I can't describe over me

Chapter 69 Sophie’s POV Fuck! I just finished eating in less than two hours, and I am hungry again. Is this how I would continue eating every hour? I went into the kitchen and dished the remaining spaghetti in the pot. I doubted the food would be enough. I put my plate on the table and picked up my phone. I was so bored as hell! I scrolled through my apps, but there was nothing to do. Nothing! I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. As I was about to change the channel, my heart raced at the sight of Julian. He was surrounded by reporters, and I felt a familiar ache in my chest. I increased the volume, and what I heard next made me stop mid-bite. Julian is getting married? To Victoria? I didn’t even notice when the remote slipped from my hand. The reporters bombarded him with questions, but he remained silent. Was it just a lie? Was it Victoria's handiwork? Did she plan this all along? Yes. She definitely planned it. I answered myself. There’s no way Julian would do this to m

Isabella and Mom have been here to keep me company, providing the support I desperately need. My mom is going to be discharged tomorrow, and finally, I can be with her again, even though she doesn’t know I’m pregnant.I sighed as I stepped out of the shower, steam enveloping me like a comforting blanket. I rummaged through my clothes, after wearing a bra and a pant. Finally i decided on wearing a blue gown. This particular gown was Julian's choice from our last date, and the memory of it made my heart ache. No, I shouldn’t wear it. It would remind me too much of him. But, wait... it’s not like I won’t see him at the wedding. I’m going to his wedding! I will definitely see him.I sank onto the bed, my body hitting the soft mattress with a thud. She leaned in closer, her expression serious. "We’re in this together. You can't let her get to you. Remember, she thrives on fear and manipulation." I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing heart. "You’re right. I can't let her win. Not now, not ever." Just then, the commotion in the room grew louder as guests began taking their seats, the atmosphere shifting from tension to celebration. I looked around, searching for Julian, but he wasn't here yet. "I should go help with the preparation," Isabella said, rising from her seat. I nodded. Chapter 73 Victoria's POV "Alex?" I muttered, disbelief washing over me. "What is he doing here?" "You know him?" Julian asked, his brow furrowed. I cursed under my breath. In my panic, I had forgotten I was standing right in front of him. Heck. What am I going to say now? "Yes... I mean no." What was I even saying? My mind raced as I tried to formulate a believable explanation. "Then how did you know his name?" Julian pressed, his gaze piercing through me. "Sophie cheated on you, so I found out who she cheated with—it's her ex-boyfriend." My heart raced as I hoped my lie would be convincing enough. Julian nodded, seemingly satisfied. By this time, Alex had made his way past Sophie’s table and was heading directly towards me. Panic surged as I searched for Jaxon, but he was nowhere to be found. Had Jaxon saved Alex after all? Was there something I didn’t know? As Alex got closer, I sensed danger. His eyes bore into mine, and I felt like a deer caught in headlights. What if he

Chapter 74 Sophie’s POV My ass hit the chair as I struggled to steady myself, gripping the edge with trembling hands. Victoria truly was a devil. How could someone be so heartless? I touched my stomach, feeling a wave of panic wash over me. She would have killed my baby—my innocent baby. Tears streamed down my face as I felt the weight of my grief. Suddenly, a hand wiped my tears, and I looked up to see Julian. I yanked his hand away. “Don’t touch me!” I screamed, my voice laced with betrayal. “So you know everything, and you kept making me suffer? You stayed away from me when you knew I couldn’t live without you.” “I am so sorry, Sophie. I had to. For you, for us,” he said, his face etched with guilt. “No, Julian,” I shook my head violently. “You should have explained everything to me when you knew.” “No, Soph.” Isabella’s voice pierced the heaviness of the moment as she approached us. “He couldn’t. Your life and your baby’s were in danger.” “You knew?” I asked, my voice barely

Julian, my love, had been busy planting kisses all over my body during the drive, showering me with affection that made even the driver chuckle at our antics. At one point, Julian had playfully barked at him to mind his business, which only made us laugh harder. Evelyn just said she wouldn't be coming in with us."I want to give the new couples some happy moments together," Evelyn explained, her cute eyes sparkling."No, Evy! I want us to catch up," I pouted, crossing my arms in a mock display of annoyance."I'll still be around for two to three days, and I promise to visit each day," she reassured me. "But for now, I promised Grandpa I would spend a few days with him. You can also visit us; I'm sure Grandpa would be eager and happy to see you.""That's a promise, oo," I said, a smile breaking through my pout. Evelyn nodde

I heard the door creaking and quickly closed my eyes. “Any improvement, doctor?” a familiar voice asked. “No, as you can see. I doubt she would survive it; the accident was a tragic one,” the voice that seemed to be the doctor said. Accident? Tragic? What accident? “Doctor, please do anything possible to save her,” the familiar voice trembled. I felt a tingling sensation in my heart. Who owns that voice? Why can’t I remember anything? Chapter 94 Julian's POV "Do you recognise me?" I asked Isaac. He looked at me keenly as if trying to recollect and then shook his head. "Well...you'll recognise me soon." I said, gestured to Marcus, who dropped his luggage into the car, and we drove home. Marcus brought out the envelope containing the pictures and handed it to me while I handed it to Isaac. Isaac collected them and kept looking at it. "This is me." he raised up his head to look at me as he pointed at the picture he was in with Sophie. "Yeah, that's you." I said, and he turned back to the pictures. He continued looking at the pictures, but he didn't seem to remember anything. "Let's just go to your house. If you see your families, it might help you regain your memory." I gestured as Marcus led the way outside. The drive to Sophie’s house was steeped in silence, each of us buried in our thoughts. She doesn't want to listen to anything I fucking say. And I can't fucking go to her place right now, because firstly, she would have told her mom, secondly, I'm sure they won't even want to listen to me. Chapter 92 Julian's POV TWO YEARS AGO "Here, the new target." Xavier, the leader of this damn organization, passed a file across the table with an air of casual indifference. I dropped the half-empty glass of whiskey I had been nursing, the ice clinking against the glass as I picked up the file. My eyes fell on the photo of a man, clearly in his fifties, with graying hair and a weary expression that suggested he had seen too much of life’s darker side. "What is his offence?" I asked. I dropped the file back onto the table, feeling the whiskey burn its way down my throat as I took a deep gulp. "You really should quit asking about people's offenses before they get killed," Xavier snapped, irritation flashing in his eyes. "It's okay if you're not telling me, then," I replied, standing up to leave. "Okay, okay. Sit down and hear me out," he said, and i glared at him and then sat. Xavier was always worried that if he did a job of eliminating people without my knowledge,

Chapter 91 Sophie’s POV "You really need to stop crying, Sophie, and explain what happened. You are getting us worried." Isabella said, her voice filled with concern. It had been an hour since we got home, yet I couldn’t bring myself to tell them the truth—that the man I loved, the man I was supposed to get married to, had killed my own father. My heart ached, and the weight of the revelation felt unbearable. "Yeah, Bella is right. You should tell us what's wrong. Today was supposed to be your bachelorette night, and your wedding is next, but everything is canceled now," my mom added. "Exactly. Julian just came outside and didn't say anything, and now you are not talking either. Do you see him in a compromising position with another woman? Or what exactly could be the matter that has you crying for an hour now? You really need to tell us so we can know what to do," Isabella pressed "Julian..." I stammered, my voice trembling. 'He was the one that killed your father' The words echoed in my mind as I grasped the iron railing of the staircase for support, my knuckles white. "Soph, are you okay?" The voice pulled me from my haze, reverberating as if from a distance. Suddenly, I felt a hand shook me gently. "Are you okay, Sophie." I looked down to see Evelyn, Isabella, and my mom’s worried gaze staring up at me. Isabella held my phone, which had fallen down. Then i saw him-Julian walking toward us. He killed my father! Julian killed my father! I yanked my phone away from Isabella and race upstairs to the room I shared with Julian. My babies were still sleeping peacefully, and I quickly locked the door behind me, leaving me trapped inside. I sanked my butt into the bed as I looked at my phone, and the message was still glaring at me. It can't be true, can it? Julian would never do such

Tonight is my bachelorette party, and the preparation is in full swing, with excitement buzzing all around. I never imagined I could feel this happy; it all seems like a beautiful dream, one I hope never to wake from. As I glance over at my little ones, peacefully sleeping in their cribs, my heart swells with love. I lean down to plant gentle kisses on each of their cheeks before heading downstairs to join the festivities. “Bride-to-be!” Isabella teases as I enter the living room, making me chuckle. “Where are my babies?” “They’re sleeping upstairs,” I reply, and she nods knowingly. “Have you tried on your outfit for tonight and tomorrow?” Isabella asks. “No, not yet,” I admit, and she gave me a mock scolding look. “Go try it on now!” she insists. “We need you ready for the party!”
