Romeo POV
I was on the verge of doing something terribly wrong, but fortunately, I caught myself in time. However, her stubbornness and boldness only fueled my anger, making me feel an overwhelming urge to harm her. Strangely, she didn't seem afraid of me. It was as if she had encountered someone like me before, someone monstrous. There was a sense of emptiness in her eyes that sent shivers down my spine.
"You're pushing me to do something horrible to you," I muttered, closing the distance between us once again. It was a strange feeling brewing inside me, something new. I wanted to possess her, body and soul.
I hadn't come to this rundown place for the purpose of finding someone to sleep with. No, I was here in search of a traitor who had dared to deceive me. Usually, I would assign my men to deal with such scum, but this time, I wanted to send a clear message within my organization.
I wanted to show everyone what would happen to the rest of the traitors if they ever crossed me. That damn traitor had managed to evade my people for a whole month. But today, Raul informed me that he had been lurking around this place for quite some time.
Without wasting a moment, I arrived here with my men. We spread out across the club, searching for him, but that slippery rat was nowhere to be found. If I say I was angry, it would be an understatement. I was seething with rage, consumed by the burning desire to kill that bastard. Until I had him in my grasp, sleep was out of the question.
Stupid fucker.
My father entrusted me with this position before he passed away, and I swore I wouldn't let any foolish betrayer stab me in the back. However, all my plans and rage were momentarily put on hold when I saw her. It’s not that I haven’t seen a beautiful girl in my life but she had something different in her. Her aura is enough to make me want to grab her in my darkness. The secrets which I’ve been carrying all my life.
Her blue eyes hypnotized me to consume her inside me. But quite bold of her to yell at me and even called me a bouncer. It was the first time someone had shown me such disrespect.
Just as I was caught up in the intense moment with the girl, the door of the room suddenly knocked three times. Irritated, I yelled, already knowing it was Luca.
"What?" I shouted, my frustration evident.
“Boss we found him.” Luca said from the other side of the door.
"Can't we hold off on this for a few minutes? I need to knock some sense into someone's head." I glared at the girl standing before me, her brows furrowing in response. I waited for Luca's reply, but the silence outside the door made me uneasy. Something didn't feel right.
“Now would you take your hands off me.” she yelled, trying to free herself from my grip.
"Shhh..." I hushed her, my focus shifting to the sounds beyond the door. A low groan reached my ears, and I instantly knew what was happening. Without hesitation, I grabbed her hand and pulled her behind me, just as the door swung open, revealing Andrew, the traitor, with a gun pointed at Luca.
"Can't you do a single damn job properly?" I shouted, my anger boiling over. Luca remained silent, his expression unreadable. Andrew wore a sinister smile on his face.
"Good evening, boss," he sneered. "Tell your men to back off, or I'll turn his brains into a bullet-ridden mess."
I gritted my teeth, feeling a hand gripping my shirt tightly, wrinkling the fabric. I had completely forgotten she was there. I positioned myself squarely in front of her, shielding her from harm.
"Andrew, you son of a bitch, do you still think I'll let you walk away?" I growled, my hand discreetly reaching for my holster, only to realize it was empty.
“It’s there, near the couch,” I heard a voice from behind me. I quickly turned and spotted the gun. Damn, I must have dropped it when she pushed me earlier.
"Boss, tell them to back off. I don't want to die now," Andrew pleaded through gritted teeth.
"Fine, Andrew, let him go and leave the place," I reluctantly said. If it weren't for her presence, I would have had this scumbag killed on the spot. But because of her, I couldn't do it. Andrew began to make his way out, thinking he was safe.
Suddenly, Luca delivered a swift kick to Andrew's stomach, causing him to double over in pain, and the gun slipped from his hand. Luca wasted no time and grabbed the weapon, pointing it directly at Andrew.
Fear filled Andrew's widened eyes, providing me with the opportunity to stride over and deliver a powerful kick to his rear. He groaned in agony as I grabbed him by the hair, forcing him to look at me.
"You won't escape my wrath, you piece of shit. Pray that your death will be swift and merciful," I snarled, my anger seething. Without hesitation, I unleashed a punch to his face, causing him to lose consciousness.
I let his limp body fall to the floor, then turned my attention to the girl who stood there, trembling with fear. It was ironic how she was now scared of me, witnessing the violence I unleashed upon someone else.
"Go. Get out," I commanded, my voice firm. I promised myself that I would find her once I was done dealing with this bastard. Tears filled her eyes as she hurriedly made her way to the door.
I turned away, swiftly retrieving a handkerchief to wipe my hands. "Call them and take him to the warehouse. I'll deal with this bastard in the most brutal way..." I began to speak, but my words were cut short by a shrill scream. I turned my head, only to find Andrew holding a knife to her throat.
"I don't want to die, boss. I know I've wronged you, but I have a family. I have a child. Let me go, you piece of shit!" he shouted, trembling uncontrollably. Despite his pleas, I couldn't focus on his trembling figure. My attention was fixated on the knife pressing against her delicate skin. I looked into her teary eyes.
"Don't you dare do anything to her, you fucker, or I'll kill you!" I roared, my anger consuming me. Luca aimed the gun, but I quickly held his arm, shaking my head, signaling him not to shoot.
“I don't care. Just let me leave!" Andrew shouted, desperation evident in his voice. I nodded in response.
"Look at me," I said, and she opened her eyes. "I won't let anything happen to you, okay?" It was the first time in my life that I had spoken those words to someone I had just met. She nodded, though tears continued to stream down her face. I noticed a small gash on her neck.
"Alright, let her go. You can run from here, Andrew. But make sure I never find you. That'll be your last breath," I warned him, a sense of grim determination in my voice. He smirked, then callously threw her aside. I immediately rushed to her, pulling her into a protective embrace, witnessing her struggle to breathe.
"Chase after that bastard, Luca. I want him caught tonight. Go," I commanded, my voice filled with urgency. Luca nodded and swiftly dashed off in pursuit.
I looked down at her as she clung to me, sobbing uncontrollably. Gently, I lifted her face to inspect the wound, relief flooding over me when I saw it was only a shallow cut. "It's okay. No one is going to hurt you. I won't let them hurt you," I reassured her, my words filled with sincerity.
Her eyes met mine and I felt something irresistible towards her. My eyes roam subtly on her face from her eyes to lips. I dipped down ready to taste those amusing lips of hers. She pushed me hard.
“You really are a sick bastard.” she said and walked out of the room. I stood there glaring at the door. Soaring that I would meet her again and not going to leave her then. And that time she would be in mercy of me.
I went out aiming to follow her when I met Luca, “Caught him, others are taking him to the warehouse.” he said. But I kept looking behind him in the direction that the girl ran.
“Did something happen?” Luca asked.
“No. Let's go.” I said walking to the car parked outside the club.
I tried as hard as I could to get the thought of her out of my head but nothing worked as her image kept popping up again in my head.
-------------
A nightmare is how I usually wake up, but today, for the first time, it was not the usual nightmare; it was a dream, a beautiful dream. I had a dream where I was happy. I was in a big room. It was so bright that I felt like it was blinding my eyes. The sun's rays are falling from the ceiling to the floor window. A beautiful girl was dancing. She was swaying her body with soft music playing in the background.
I walked towards her as I held her waist; she laughed, those beautiful deep blue eyes crescent when she laughed. Her melodious laugh is so contagious that I didn’t know that I was laughing too. I really don’t want to wake up from this dream. But God really doesn't want to see me happy. All the windows in the room shatter on their own, the glass piece falling on us as it pierced our skin. Blood started to ooze out as I held her in my embrace, trying to save her.
"Boss, Boss, are you alright? It’s just a nightmare, Romeo." A voice called me, pulling me out of my nightmare. I sat up on the bed, hyperventilating. I looked around only to find myself in my hotel room. I looked up at Luca, who was standing near my bed, worriedly staring at me. It took a while for me to calm down. I looked beside me only to find it empty.
"I had sent Natalie home last night as per your order." I nodded my head at this. "There is headache medicine on the bedside table. You should go and take a bath. I ordered breakfast here." I removed the duvet; I was completely naked going inside the bathroom, wanting a hot shower to wake me up. My muscles were sore. I needed more rest, but I couldn't get it. It's just that I can’t sleep at night. I always have that fucking nightmare, but this time I saw my swan, and we were happy, laughing, and so much in love. At this, my eyes opened abruptly, as I shivered at that thought. I immediately left the shower cabin and puked all my dinner from the previous night out in the commode. I felt my stomach churn at the thought.
"Romeo, we have to hurry. Breakfast is already here." Luca's voice outside from the bathroom door pulled me back from my thoughts. I wiped my face and walked out of the bathroom after taking another clean shower.
"What happened? Why are you looking so scared?" I asked when I saw Luca talking to someone on the phone.
"Romeo, we have to go. Dress up quickly." He gave me my suit as I started to wear my shirt, still not knowing what was really happening with him. It’s the first time I saw him looking so helpless.
"First and foremost, tell me what the problem is. whose call was it?” I shouted this time.
"G… Godmother had an accident." That was enough for me to feel the terror in my bones. No, not her! I felt something shattered in me. She is the only person I have in my life who anchors me. I can't lose her. We immediately left the hotel, speeding the car towards the hospital.
Romeo POV We reached the hospital, storming out of the car without caring a bit about the reporter who was standing in front of the hospital gate eager to publish the spicy news about Valentino's family. I shove them aside while trying to walk inside, and some of the reporters fell back because of my pushing them away. I didn’t look back to see if Luca was following me or not. I have only one thing on my mind, and that is whether she is really okay or not. On the way here, I was on the edge of losing my sanity. If Luca was not there, it would be over for me. I saw the main bodyguard of my grandmother standing in front of the room, which I assume she must be in. As soon as he saw me, he looked scared, and he knew that he would be in big trouble if he didn’t give me appropriate answers to my question, and that is how the hell this happened. I grabbed his collar, pushing him to the nearest white wall of the hospital. There was no one in the lobby except the men who served me and me. “
Julia POV After my show, I sat near the bar counter, rubbing my sore muscles, losing a knot that had formed from dancing for so long. Taking a short break, which I begged Raul to give me or else I would die on the stage, he allowed it, but it was only for fifteen minutes. It’s been a week where I haven’t seen that man and a week that Raul didn’t fire me and make me work overtime. I couldn’t blame him; if I had been in his shoes, I would have done far worse than him. I just curse my life for all of my misfortunes. If I didn't need money, I wouldn’t be working here, and moreover, I wouldn't have met that man, who only reminds me of my dark past, which I was running from all this time. But on the plus side, not seeing that man's face is quite good for me. The way our first meeting was, I don't want to see him again. My body still remembers his touches. Those burning desires, which I felt for the first time and wanted to feel more of it. Those lucid hands imprinted themselves on my body
Julia POV As soon as our lips touched, I felt a tingling in my belly. His large hand rested on my hip, drawing me towards him, which I eagerly followed. If I were in my rightful mind, I wouldn’t be doing this, but this searing feeling is forcing me to do it. My body is reacting to its own demand. This time, I blame that pervert bastard who gave me that drug. His hand moved from my hips to my nape, pressing my soft body to his hard one as he devoured me. My moans were swallowed by him, without breaking the kiss, he pushed me against the wall, caging me in his hold. I was sheltered in his dark shadow. “Look at how obedient you're right now when you need me… Where did that little tigress go?” He mocked me, biting my ears. I closed my eyes, letting him do it. First of all, I don’t have the strength to stop him. Secondly, I seriously need him, yes I need him to get rid of this burning feeling in me. A whine left my lips as he separated us, which I don’t want. I grabbed him by his Armani
Julia POV I stared at him as he undressed in front of me. I am not sure if it is the effect of drugs or his physique that is luring me. But I never took my gaze away from him. His well-built muscles flexed, when he pulled off his shirt, and tossed it somewhere in the room. My gaze moved down, past his shoulder blades, to his pants. I felt my breath caught in my throat at the sight of his erection straining against the cloth. The feeling returned, tempting me to curl up again, but the strong arms of his grasped my hands, trapping them above my head. He dipped down and kissed my lips. I wanted to pull him towards me but when I couldn’t budge my hand I looked up and saw them tied on the bed post. I wanted to complain about it when he smashed his lips onto mine again, throwing my whining out of the window. "Relax," he soothes, sliding his hand on my body. His slender fingers slide from my neck to my breast. That’s when the realization hit me, I was still wearing my dancing outfit, a tw
Julia POV I slowly open my eyes, blinking a few times, in an attempt to take in the glowing brightness. I glanced around only to notice that I was not in my room; it was too spacious for me. Where am I? The wall of the room is painted gray with a white ceiling, which is, in my opinion, very dull. The furniture was all black, from the door to the huge cupboard affixed to the wall. Closing my eyes again, I tried to recall the last night, and that's when the realization hit me like a bucket of cold water. I was drugged last night, and I had sex with a man I barely know. Fuck, you’re so stupid Julia. When are you going to stop putting yourself in trouble? I was so busy blaming myself that I failed to notice a muscled, veiny arm snaking around my waist. I suddenly bumped into a firm, naked chest, and again that sandalwood scent hit me with so much force that it blurred my sanity. I immediately closed my eyes, pretending to be still sleeping. But when I didn’t hear any movement, I peered
Romeo POV After not sleeping for like a week, my body finally came to rest as soon as I held her. Our bare bodies snuggled against each other; her warm pool of skin covered my cold and frigid one. What to ask more? The perfect silence aided my peace. No wonder I feel at ease. This girl holds so much power over me that I couldn't put my finger upon it. It feels like God is finally giving me something to hold on to, but why now when I’m already at the edge? When I already have a shield around me, why is he helping me now? Why not when I’m in desperate need of it? All these past days, I forced my body to rest. The sleeping pill that Dr. Agantino prescribed only made my body numb for a few hours, but it was only for a few hours. This time I didn’t need those sleeping pills; All I needed was her in my arms, and that was enough for me to sleep peacefully. Is this what real addiction feels like? In all my twenty-eight years of life, I had done tons of addiction from alcohol to cocaine. Na
Julia POV Rubbing my wet hair I walked to the living room only to find Enzo sitting on the couch as if he owned this apartment, one leg on the table and the other dangling on the floor. In his hand was a plate, and his eyes focused on the television. I clicked my tongue on the corner of my mouth, tossing my towel on the chair. I went towards him, pushing his leg off the table. He looked up at me, grinning like an idiot. "Oh, you came back. We thought you had been kidnapped by someone, and I have to take care of Aunty, though I’ll never complain about that if I'm going to have delicious food here." He said, sliding to the corner of the sofa, making room for me to sit. "Hah! In your dreams, Enzo... What are you doing here? Didn’t you say that you were going back to the academy?" I asked, as Mama came from the kitchen, offering me a plate, with freshly baked bacon and eggs. Only by smelling it did my mouth water. I’m hungry. I haven't eaten anything since last night. "Nah! My supervis
Romeo Pov“.....I truly appreciate all of you for your concern and kind support till now that you all have given to me and waited patiently for me to recover.” Her strong Italian accent sounded firm and strong. Her silver hair, once black and bright, cascaded down her back in gentle waves, a witness to the passing of times, her face etched with lines and wrinkles, though that wasn't able to shake this strong woman personality.I stood beside her, listening to her as she lied to the reporters about how she was careless and fell down the stairs, hurting herself. I understand why she is lying; she doesn’t want to ruin Valentino's status. It’s one of the rules of Valentino’s family. If something happened within the four walls, it would be buried within the four walls. A title that has chained my hands, which I can’t take off.Rusella Valentino is a strong, confident woman. After the death of my grandfather, she took up the responsibilities for both public and underground matters. That time
Romeo POV "You don't know how scared I was. I thought that I had lost you, man. Romeo, promise me you won't put yourself in danger again. You are important here, not me. I should be the one saving you, not the other way around. But I was always too late whenever you got hurt." Luca's voice trembled as he spoke. This is the second time I've seen him looking this broken, and it's also because of me. "Luca, you're everything to me. Don't say that. Without you, I wouldn't have come this far. You're not just my right hand but also my best friend. I can't bear to let anything happen to you," I replied earnestly. It had been two days since I woke up, and their joy at my recovery was palpable. My grandmother rushed to hug me as soon as she saw me, and it really felt good to be back. Yet I couldn't help but notice Julia standing by the door, almost trying to be invisible, but her presence was undeniable. Even in my unconscious state, I felt her touch, and surprisingly, it didn't repulse me.
Julia POV I wiped Romeo's body gently with a damp cloth. Now I’m really behaving like a nurse for him. However, seeing him in so much pain broke my heart. It had been five days, and he still hadn't opened his eyes. He slept deeply as if he hadn't slept in a week. I was about to discuss terminating the contract with them. But when I noticed that all of them were already on the edge, emotionally drained because of this incident. It weighed heavily on my heart, and I couldn't bring myself to go through with it. I reminded myself that staying here a little longer wouldn't cause me much harm. With tenderness, I wiped his shoulder blades down to his arm, where the needle connected to the IV. Since that night, Lorenzo had done everything he could to keep Romeo alive. But due to so much loss of the blood his mind had gone in a state of shock."Julia, you should come and eat something. You haven't had anything today," Luca's gentle voice broke the silence of the room. He approached me carryi
Julia POV I caught sight of his silhouette, sitting on the edge of the bed. His head threw back as his weight was supported by his hands resting on the bed. His upper body was bare, while he sported a pair of boxers. A sigh of relief escaped my lips, realizing that he hadn't completely lost his sanity. This situation reminds me of that night when I first encountered him but at that time some people were at least there but today I was alone facing him. And that scared me. Alone with him is not good, not after what happened last night. "What did I tell you, old man? I won't get treated until..." he began, his expression bored, but as soon as his eyes landed on me, a smile spread across his face. "Oh, I wasn't expecting this… Who are you?" he asked, and that deep voice sent shivers down my spine. I felt a shudder ripple through me. “What are you doing here?” he asked again, tilting his head, observing me, and it felt as if I were offering myself as prey to a lion ready to pounce. "
Julia POVWhen I woke up in the morning, there was an absence of familiar faces, replaced by new ones who now inhabited the mansion. Although their presence brought some life to the surroundings, it still felt like I was trapped in a dark room. They merely greeted me and went about their assigned tasks."Where is Rusella?" I asked Marco, who had brought the tray of lunch as I had requested to eat in my room. What’s the point of eating on the big table?"She had some work, so she went to the city. She said she'll be back by dinner time," Marco replied, placing the tray in front of me. I sighed and began to eat my food. Everyone seemed to have something to occupy themselves with, leaving me alone. Now, I had a genuine reason to distance myself from them. But what hurt me the most was that she had lied to me. Luca knew about my father. I had to escape from this place as quickly as possible. I can’t risk my life.Even if it meant leaving the country, I was determined not to be trapped he
Romeo POV I rubbed my face wearily as I listened to the ruckus outside my room. Frustration and regret swirled within me. It wasn't that she had disrespected me or anything like that. It was the image of her kissing another guy that played on repeat in my mind like a broken record.I stood there until I heard Luca going out of her room and closing it. I sighed going back to my bed and slumped myself.Lost in jealousy, I acted without thinking, impulsively kissing her. Her lips felt soft against mine, and for a fleeting moment, I wanted to savor it. But I knew it was wrong. Before I could dwell on it further, her touch on my back brought me back to reality, sending a jolt of pain through me.Yes, I was jealous—jealous of the way he had kissed her right in front of me. I wanted nothing more than to unleash my anger upon him, to break every bone in his body. And when I found myself holding her tightly, her hesitant response only fueled my desire for more than just a kiss. I yearned to t
Julia POVI stood rooted in place, completely deaf ear to his question, as my attention was captivated by his striking body. Despite the danger he emits, there is an undeniable attraction toward him that stirs something within me. Yes, I must admit, I felt a twinge of attraction. As he began to approach me, I instinctively took a step back, only to collide with the door."I’m sorry, I mistakenly entered the wrong room. Please don't worry; I'll leave immediately," I blurted out hastily, attempting to regain my composure. I reached for the doorknob, but to my surprise, he swiftly closed the door, trapping me inside."You know, Julia, you’re quite an interesting person. You wandered into my room even after I had just threatened you a moment ago. I don’t know what I should call you." he said. Did he think I entered his room on purpose? I rolled my eyes.A little courage welled up within me, making me meet his gaze. "You won't harm me," I asserted. He raised an eyebrow, visibly taken aback
Julia POV The car turned onto a narrow road, surrounded by towering trees. We followed the lane until the car came to a stop in front of a massive gate, its wrought iron adorned with intricate designs. A man opened the gate to let us in, and I couldn't help but stare in awe. It wasn't just a house; it was a mansion, far larger than any place I had ever lived before. The warm terracotta hues of the building and the exquisite stonework gave it a majestic appearance. Classic arched windows and balconies with ornate railings added to their beauty. It’s dangerously beautiful. It looked like something out of a horror movie. Throughout the ride, Romeo didn't utter a word to me, leaving me preoccupied with the unsettling things Enzo had said earlier. I couldn't understand what made this man so dangerous other than his well-known anger issues and strong sense of pride. From what I had observed, there was nothing that could make him truly menacing or justify the things doctors said about his
Julia POVThe car ride to his new house was marked by a tense silence. As we approached the city's outskirts, I noticed him veering off course onto a familiar street I knew all too well."Why are we going this way?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me."You should visit Mrs. Camellia before we leave the city. We don't know when you'll have another opportunity," Romeo replied, his tone devoid of any intention to engage in conversation. I felt a pang of gratitude mixed with longing. Being separated from mama had left a void in my heart, and I longed to hear her comforting voice. "Thank you," I said, my words sincere and heartfelt. Staying away from her had been unbearable, and I wanted to ensure she was doing well. I had considered calling her, but facing her in person seemed like a daunting task.As we turned into the familiar street, the Mercedes came to a halt in front of my building. The driver opened the door for me, and Romeo's voice echoed in my ears. "I'll be waiti
Julia POV Stepping down the stairs, I walked in the direction of the kitchen. Following my usual routine, which I've been doing since I moved in here, waking up, eating, sleeping, reading, and repeating. Yesterday, Romeo told me that we would be leaving this morning. I had no desire to stay in an isolated place with him, but unfortunately, I had no say in the matter. As I entered the kitchen, hoping to find Luca, I was met by Romeo. He stood behind the counter, dressed in a pristine white T-shirt and gray joggers, busily stirring something in a stewpot. The enticing aroma of delicious breakfast engulfed me, triggering an intense growl from my hungry stomach. It was the first time I had encountered him in the morning; he usually left before I woke up. Typically, I would have breakfast with Luca or one of his men assigned to look after me. "Good morning," he greeted me with a stoic expression, his focus returning to his culinary work. Strangely, he seemed so domestic at this moment.
