Author's POV

Aidan rushed to grab Fiona before she could hit the ground but he was a trifle late. Fiona had landed on the ground with a loud thump.

He gathered her into his arms, uncaring of the chaos and noise in the background. Nothing was important anymore.

"Fiona please, look at me." He nuzzled her cheek and whispered into her ear fiercely.

He got no response. Fiona laid there, her body slack and unmoving. His heart thumped violently inside his chest, and a moisture trickled down his face.

Whether sweat or tears, he couldn't tell. But his eyes stung hotly.

"Fiona! Fiona! Listen to me you can't do this to me! You can't leave me!" He screamed, shaking her.

No! No! She couldn't leave him.

"Please." He pleased, heaving into her hair.

"Please don't leave me!" He cried out.

If she was going to die, there was no need for him to live too.

Without her life was completely meaningless.

Her baby...their baby. The thought sent him into a howling frenzy and sorrow clouded his gaze.
