CHAPTER 113

FRED'S POV

Hours later, I was still watching the television when I suddenly felt someone sit beside me.

"Valerie," I realized. "Do you remember anything now?" I slowly asked and she laid her head on my shoulder.

"Does it really matter? We can always make new memories since I don't remember anything," she muttered and I smiled then raised her head to kiss her which she accepted.

I had always wanted to taste those lips. As we kissed, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. I was lying to her, manipulating her, and it didn't feel right. But I couldn't back out now, not when I had come this far.

Valerie pulled away from the kiss and looked at me with a smile.

"I'm glad I have you, Fred," she said, snuggling closer to me.

"Even if I don't remember how we met or fell in love, I know that I love you." she whispered.

I felt a pang of guilt again but pushed it away, reminding myself that this was for the greater good.

"I love you too, Valerie," I replied, holding her close.
