Christina POV

“What the fuck. What the fuck! What the actual fuck!” I keep repeating it like a mantra. I don’t know whether I should be more confused at what I just saw or at the fact that the werewolf who just killed the two men is staring at me and for some reason, I’m not afraid of him hurting me. Hell, I'm more afraid of the fact that he stopped looking at me and started looking behind me.

I felt someone’s breath on my neck and I already knew that I was about to die but just before I started to pray to god and embrace death, a knife flew swiftly past my ear and right into whoever the hell was behind me. I felt a warm liquid drip down my shoulder and I slowly looked back and saw another man in black. His eyeball was struck With the knife and it’s bleeding profusely. The man starts to scream and I immediately look back at the direction that the knife came from.

There’s a lady in black but different from the men and her face is open, unlike the men whose faces were conveyed in masks. She was breathing heavily and started saying something but I couldn't hear her because my mind was in a jumbled mess. She’s sitting by the window, she probably had to climb up a tree or ladder to get there but I have a feeling it’s the former.

I looked back at the werewolf and saw him looking at the lady by the window. His body started cracking again and his hair started to shrink back. I blinked again and my father was staring at me butt naked.

I don’t know whether it’s my dead mother on the floor or my dad's penis dangling in front of me that brought me back to life but it’s enough to make me understand what the lady by the window is saying.

“We have to go now!” She yells before her eyes land on my dad and his dangling penis. He quickly grabs clothes from the closet and puts them on.

“Peter?” The lady by the window says. How does she know my dad? “Melissa?” He asks after putting on his shirt.

I ignore them and whatever they say to each other and run to my dead mother. I didn't even realize that I had been crying this whole time till I placed her limp hands on my cheek.

Dad walks towards me from behind and tries to touch me but I flinch so he sighs.

“I’m so sorry that you had to find out about me like this but we seriously need to go.” He says as calmly as he can but I can still hear how shaky his voice is. He loved his wife as much as I loved her.

“The police are on their way, why should we follow that other woman? If she wants to help she should wait with us.” I say even though I’m grateful that she saved my life.

I start to hear the police sirens and stand.

“The police will ask too many questions... questions we cannot answer. If you're worried about who you can trust then the answer is easy, you can always trust me. You know me.”

“Do I? You just became the same beast from Twilight and I’m supposed to trust you!?” I snort. “You will come with me now Christina or so help me god-” The lady my dad called Melissa says. My dad places a hand up to let her know that it’s enough.

“It’s not safe for us to stay here anymore.. what we’re up against...they're not humans..uh...they’re a lot worse. I can’t protect you if we stay here and anyone else that knows you will be in danger if they find out they are connected to you in some way so it’s better to let her go and leave.” He says.

I sighed and reluctantly stood up and followed them. I don’t understand what the hell is going on but I do know that Whatever the hell is going on is more than a robbery or an assassination because who the hell does such a thing in broad daylight? On the morning of a school day.

We ran as fast as we could downstairs till we made it outside.

“The car is at the back of the house.” She says and leads the way.

I have so much on my mind that when we reach the car I don’t even look at it enough to know what type of car it is. I just get in and wonder how confused Elsa will be when she doesn’t find me there. I look up and see another lady in the driver's seat.

“Took you long enough.” She says to Melissa.

“Oh please,” Melissa responds.

“Dad.. we’re going to come back right?” I ask sheepishly. “No, my love. We’re never coming back.” He sighs.

“Long time no see Peter. Or should I say beta, Peter?” The lady in the driver's seat says and smirks.

“I’m rogue now, please don’t,” Dad says and looks behind us as if he’s expecting someone to be following us.

I looked at the lady again and we took off. She notices me staring through the rearview mirror and winks at me like something’s funny. What the hell is a beta and what does he mean by he's a rogue now?

“My mother is dead,” I say to let her know that there’s nothing to joke about.

“Don’t worry she’s not your real mother.” The lady says.

“Becca!” Dad yells and Melissa laughs.

I decided to ignore her statement. My brain is presently overloaded with too many questions. “And who are you two?” I ask, raising a brow.

“We’re your sisters,” Melissa says while staring at the side mirror.

“Well.. half-sisters,” Becca says and winks at me again.

She’s annoying but what she says has my eyes widening. I’m an only child... there’s just no way that’s possible. I’m about to say something but I don’t get the chance to because our car gets hit from behind. I turned around and saw a bunch of cars following us.

“Well, shit,” Melissa says.

“It’s going to be fine Christina,” Dad says and holds my hand.

“Who are those people and why do they want to kill you? And why’d they kill Mom!” I yell while Becca increases the speed of the car.

“You got it all wrong Christina,” Becca says.

“They're trying to kill you. Not peter.”

Melissa says before bringing out a gun and rolling down her window. She leans her head out of the window and starts to shoot. I was terrified by the sound of the gun but acted like this wasn’t the first time I'd seen a gun.

“Why the hell would they want to kill me? I’m just a high school student!”

“It’s kinda a long story,” Becca says.

“A story for another day!” Dad yells just as another car hits us from the back again.

Melissa shoots the car's tires and they slow down behind us. The cars behind us are now down to four, wonderful.

We enter the main road and Becca increases the speed of the car. The cars behind us seemed to be getting closer and I held my breath till another car hit us.

“We’re going to die!” I cried, squeezing my eyes shut.

“Just hold on!” Becca shouts.

I open my eyes and catch a glimpse of her making a sharp turn but my soul is about to leave my body because there’s a truck right in front of us. It starts to blow its horn when it notices we’re entering its lane to make the turn, instead of waiting for it to pass first. I don’t know how but we managed to make the turn before the truck crashed into us unfortunately the four other cars connected with the truck but a few of them managed to escape the crash since the truck is very long it restricts the other cars movements meaning they can no longer see us.

“We did it!” Melissa yells and claps. “Where the hell are we going?” I ask. “You’ll see,” Becca says.

Christina POVAfter a few moments of silence, we arrived at a small house in the middle of a forest. Once Becca parked, I left the car and stared at the house but that’s the least of my worries.I look behind me and see Becca and Melissa talking so I walk up to Dad who's looking at the house inquisitively.“Are you sure we can trust those two...” I look at them smiling at each other before I turn back to my dad and continue whispering.“They are a bit weird,” I said. “They’re your sisters' love,” Dad says. He places his hand on his brown hair and scratches it. He’s taller than me so I don’t get to see the exact spot he’s scratching. Or maybe I’m the short one that makes him look tall. He’s about 5 '11 whilst I’m 5' 6 so I won’t call myself short but I’m not tall either.Coincidentally my so-called sisters look to be about the same height as me but Becca looks a few inches taller...perhaps 5 '7. They both have brown hair and brown eyes just like me but I have white strands on mine. I

I need to at least understand why my mother was killed before I die. Hell—I want to avenge her.Becca looks back and sees that I’m slower than all of them. All my cries fall on deaf ears, as it becomes obvious that I'm not leaving this man's room until he is ready to let me go.I look around me, getting more and more scared as I realize that his room is so large that I feel immensely tiny inside of it. Sunlight is gradually waning, which means that soon, night will fall on us, potentially keeping us here longer.I rub my hands together in a pleading gesture. “Please, please please, I don't know anything at all,” I beg, dragging myself across the carpet-covered floor away from this man before me with a sinister look in his eyes. “Please.” My elbows start to hurt, but I push past the pain and keep moving—until a solid wall presses into my back. His eyes roam my body in a way that hints at nothing good. Something is coming, and although I don't know what it is, I can tell that it's nothing good at all.My mother rushes into my room, floral dress brushing her ankles as she moves frantically, interrupting my painting session. “Marcel,” she says, pausing at my doorway with her chest heaving. Even the look in her eyes is enough to get me distracted.“What is it, mother?” I try to add more touches to my painting, but now that I've been interrupted, my full focus has been torn apart, and I can't figure out where to place my brush. Marcel's POThe silence inside the car was suffocating. My fingers tapped against my thigh as I stared out the window, my mind racing. Christina was gone, taken right under my nose. I felt so insulted like I was suddenly incapable of protecting her.Even worse, I had no idea who had led that attack. Whoever they were, they had better get themselves ready for my revenge, which would be slow and brutal.Mirabel sat across from me, her face calm, but I could see the tension in her posture. She was waiting for me to speak, to decide what needed to be done."You're too quiet," she finally said, her voice careful. “What's on your mind, Alpha?"I clenched my jaw. "I'm trying to figure out the best course of action. Going to the Silver Moon Pack without her wasn't the plan."Mirabel exhaled slowly, folding her hands in her lap. "We can't afford to let this diplomatic mission fail. The Silver Moon Pack is outside your direct authority; this alliance is needed. If we delay or cancel the meetin

Author's POVThe morning air was crisp as Christina stepped out of the pack house. This was her first time coming out since she got here, but she didn't have the energy to even admire her surroundings. All she could note was that the sun felt good on her skin. Her nerves were already stretched thin. The maids had spent the entire night packing and fussing over her, and she hadn't gotten much sleep. As she made her way to the sleek black car waiting for her and Marcel, she noticed a movement in an alcove at the side of the house. It looked like someone was beckoning her forward.Just as she reached the car door, her heart leaped as she realized who it was. Melissa was standing in the shadows, half-hidden by the morning light. She hadn't seen her stepsisters in days and was starting to worry about them. Of course, she could not miss this opportunity to speak to them."I... I need to use the restroom quickly," Christina blurted, glancing at Marcel, who was already seated in the car.He r

Marcel's POVI frowned and skimmed through the reports that had come in yesterday evening. Being an alpha didn't come with a vacation; every day, something new popped up that needed my attention.Something like the Silvermoon pack in this case.My pen ran over my journal as I documented my plan of action. The Silvermoon pack was known for its isolation. It was fiercely independent and detached from the hierarchy of the werewolf realm. It operated on its government and was out of my authority. However, I was about to venture out of my bounds to visit them. But rumors of unrest had started filtering through, and the last thing I needed was for them to threaten the delicate balance I maintained in the packs under my rule.If Silvermoon descended into chaos, the ripple effects would undoubtedly disrupt my reign. Diplomacy wasn't my strongest suit, but this visit was necessary. It was a chance to ensure peace—or at least plant the seeds of it.I shut the book and picked up the letter I wou

Christina's POVKeeping my eyes on Rowan was not helping me think. He looked like he had already resigned himself to the worst possible punishment, and I knew that Marcel wanted me to pick the worst punishment. If I sentenced Rowan to death, would he kill him, or would he say it was too harsh?"Okay, how about a suspension?" I asked, hoping that this would count. "Maybe a one-month suspension before he's allowed to resume duties."I thought That was a good idea, a bit proud of myself. At least then, he would have the time to care for his mate.Marcel chuckled darkly, shaking his head. "You're too soft."I clenched my fists. "Then what do you suggest?"Marcel smirked, his eyes glinting with something dangerous. “Rowan will be stripped of his position as a patrol member. From now on, he will serve as a training dummy for our recruits."I stared at him, horrified. Even Rowan had a stricken expression on his face as he looked up. “You can't be serious!"A training dummy sounded like a p

Christina's POV"Your back is too stiff," Luna Sandra said sharply, circling me. "A Luna must exude confidence, not rigidity. If you stand like that in front of a pack meeting, they'll think you're a servant, not a leader."I tried to relax my shoulders, but it wasn't easy under her scrutinizing gaze. Ever since my little stunt, I had been more scared of her presence. I remembered the way she had stepped forward as though she was ready to kill me in that instant, and now I was here in a room with her just two days later. I couldn't be blamed for being nervous. She, on the other hand, was harder on me now. It was like she was trying to prove a point to me, even though I had no idea what it was. Or perhaps she just hated me a bit more."You need to keep your chin up. That's the third time I've had to tell you," she added, her tone laced with irritation. "How do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you look ready to bolt at the first sign of conflict?"I clenched my fists at my s

She felt small and comfortable, parting her soft lips slightly as I deepened the kiss.A surprising warmth coursed through me, stirring my wolf and something else within me—something I hadn't felt in a long while. As her hands moved over my chest, I felt their tremor, bringing me back to reality. I paused, catching myself."Christina," I said, my voice coming out in a low whisper. I took hold of her wrist, stopping her hands from moving any further, and held back slightly. Her eyes were shut, lips slightly swollen and still parted.I groaned, resisting the urge to kiss her again. She was shaking badly."What are you doing?" I asked, brows furrowing. Her eyes were shiny with unshed tears as she opened them, blinking slowly at me. "Isn't this what you wanted? Christina's povAs I stirred awake, the first thing I felt was an ache in my limbs, a dull reminder of my failed escape. Memories came back in flashes: running through the woods in another form and seeing the world through different eyes, meeting my father, and taking notes from him. From there, everything went down in a spiral. Marcel's guards had gathered me, and just as I turned to speak to them, the cold iron of a dart pierced my side, a numbing sensation spreading through my veins. Now I am back. I blinked, staring at the scene and trying to remember exactly where I was. When I finally overcame the vertigo, I shifted my gaze from the familiar walls of my room in Marcel's estate, and that was when I saw him.Marcel was standing at the foot of my bed, his arms crossed over his broad chest, watching me with a conflicted expression. For a moment, I thought he was about to announce my punishment for what I did—and that would not be pleasant."Get up," he said in a low voice. This was

Author's povMarcel sat at the table, reviewing drafts for the public verdict. He had to get up very early to do this and ensure everything was "top-notch" before it was sent out at midday. It was barely dawn, and the cool morning breeze from the window was pleasant. He stared at the heading placeholder "Luna" and shook his head. At least, this was a temporary arrangement. A knock broke his focus."Come in," he said tersely without looking up.The door opened, and Arun stepped in, holding a small, worn notebook. His expression was serious as he approached Marcel."Something was discovered near the site where Christina was found," he began, placing the book on the desk. It was found under a boulder."Marcel's eyes flicked to the item. It looked old and unremarkable, certainly not something that would draw his attention if it weren't brought to him."If I recall, it was that area where those men were sent out to get Christina back, so why is this just getting to me?" he asked."I asked
