Talking with Fiona

Sheila's POV

Few hours earlier….

"Wait outside for me, I won't take long," I instructed Chris, the bodyguard Anna had assigned to me.

When I arrived at my father's house, I knocked on the front door. To my surprise, Fiona opened the door herself instead of one of the maids.

“Sheila, I'm glad you made it. Come in,” she said with a smile, stepping aside to let me in. She glanced outside, and her warm welcome quickly turned into a scowl.

“I thought I told you not to bring any bodyguards; your father isn't comfortable around them,” she complained.

“He’ll wait outside; Father doesn't need to see him,” I reassured Fiona, who still looked a bit doubtful.

I walked in and asked, “Where is Father? Is he in his study?”

“Your father isn’t back from the office yet; he’s running a bit late today,” Fiona explained. “Since you’re here, let me get you a drink.”

“Oh, you don’t have to; I’m fine.”

“Nonsense! I’ll get you one right away,” Fiona insisted, and she went off to get it.
