Mason paced around the cluttered space that was Nigel's living room. The old man had just finished telling them all about the prophecy and since Mason was unable to keep himself calm.
Danica on the other hand was feeling a little too calm. Maybe it was because it seemed surreal to her, after all it had only been a little less than a month that she had come to be part of this world and now suddenly there was a war coming.
If that was the case then what did that mean about them? What would they be able to do?
As it was Danica was unable to change and would be absolutely no help in the long run, that alone made her feel some type of way.
"Can you stop." Nigel suddenly snapped drawing everyone's attention to him. "You're driving me mad with that wild pacing."
Flinching Mason flushed slightly, "Sorry, I just can't sit idly."
"But what good will all that pacing do you?" Nigel asked sagely.
Huffing Mason plopped down
It was mid afternoon by the time Danica found herself breaking from all her swirling thoughts. It was the day of the full moon and she was well aware of what was to come later. As so much had gone on recently she had no time to truly consider the pain that she was going to have to go through once again. Now that the time was here it was all she could think of. Top that with a possible war breaking out, all the rogue attacks, the outbreak, and she had a mess inside her head. They had still not fully determined what Mason's infected pack members were carrying, but instead of getting better they all seemed to be worsening. On top of that even more pack members had begun to show signs of having the illness as well. Where originally the abandoned building had only held about ten deranged wolves, it now housed up to thirty.Mason had spent most of the morning making phone calls and doing paperwork, allowing Danica to be to herself.
No... This is wrong....Danica could barely think as Mason's hands had begun to work towards lifting her shirt off of her.Need... To stop.... This....The shirt had managed to slip up over her head and she was left laying on Mason's bed in nothing but her bra and pants. Above her Mason had sat up long enough to rip his shirt off.Gotta....Stop....Each thought was fleeting as pleasure pulsed through Danica sending her into an endless cycle of trying to claw her way to sane and then right back into unable to process anything."Mason..." She tried pulling her mouth away from his. "We...."She was unable to finish her sentence as Mason's mouth found hers hungrily."Mmmmmm." Mason murmured. "Don't fight it...."Don't fight it? Maybe he was right, why would she want to fight something this sweet and amazing? Every inch he kissed and touched thrummed and left her wanting more."No...." The
The moon rose, just as Danica had expected it to and with it came her body's need to change into its wolf state. The process had already begun and Danica was doing her best to try to remain strong.Beside her Mason watched in horror knowing that there was nothing he could do to help her through this except just be there as support."Can you knock me out." Danica panted as a new wave of pain surged through her. "Please.""I'm sorry." Mason said shaking his head. "I don't know if that is a good idea."Danica bit back a scream as her bones snapped and twisted only to not reshape and instead to continue doing it again and again.Sweat had begun to break out on her skin as she used her hands to claw the mattress below her trying desperately to cling to something."It hurts." Danica cried out as another wave of agony overtook her. "Mason, it hurts."Tears had begun to spring up in her eyes and fall down her cheeks.
Danica could hear the sound of blood rushing around in her ears as the word attack kept bouncing around inside her head. Where had been attacked? Was it their pack grounds, or was it somewhere else?"Danica what are you doing?" Mason asked rushing over to her. "You should still be laying down after what you just went through."Danica shook Mason off, "What is going on?"Chris who hadn't expected Danica to overhear had begun to turn pale."Chris." Danica asked fixing her gaze on her trainer. "What happened?"Chris looked hesitantly to Mason who seemed to be angry. "There was another surprise attack." He said deciding that he didn't want to leave Danica in the dark."Where did it happen?" Danica demanded moving forward."Pack grounds." Chris responded. "It happened near where all the infected were being held.""What do you mean where the infected were?" Danica asked eye widening. "A
Danica had just enough time to put her arms up to protect herself before the rogue was pinning her to the ground. Beside her Mason was already grabbing at the rogue's neck and attempting to snap it as Danica warded off the wolf from biting at her throat. Saliva was dripping onto her mask making it difficult to see, if Mason didn't get the wolf off her soon she was going to be in a serious situation.Chris was preoccupied with another rogue and unable to help."Get off." Mason growled wrapping an arm around the silver wolf's throat and giving a tug.Coughing Danica rolled from underneath the large wolf as Mason gave her room to move. Snarling the wolf turned its killing intent on Mason who was doing his best to hold it at bay.A snarl sounded behind them as three more rogue's made an appearance, it seemed they were surrounded."We've got trouble." Danica called from her spot on the ground looking from one rogue to the other.
"What should we do?" Danica asked looking to Mason who was having trouble controlling his temper. "We have to help her." "Let me think for a minute." Mason said keeping his eyes fixed on the wolves in front of them. "Alpha better hurry up they're starting to move in." Chris warned. "There isn't any time!" Danica snarled beginning to move forward. She didn't bother looking to see if Mason and Chris were following as she barrelled forward drawing the deranged wolves attention to her. She didn't have a plan in place with what she was doing, but she would just figure it out as she went. "HEY!" She called drawing the ones that hadn't turned towards her and were surrounding the woman. "DANICA!" Mason roared making his way towards her. Danica had been so concerned with saving the woman she hadn't considered exactly what danger she had just put herself into, not to mention not stopping to wonder why exactly a woman would be standing in the middle of a field in the middle of night righ
"Mason I can walk!" Danica insisted as they arrived at the training grounds where a few warriors were still roaming about. "Put me down!""No, you're hurt." Mason said."It is fine." Danica insisted even though a pang of pain shot through her trying to make her out to be a liar."Just give up." Mason said heading towards the infirmary.Once inside Mason sat Danica down on a sick bed and disappeared to go find the healer leaving Danica alone. Looking around she couldn't help but let out a shiver. Although she had been trying to act tough around Mason she was exhausted, she was hurting, and she was severely freaked out from what the dark being within her had done.As she thought about the killings the dark being had committed Danica could feel bile rising up in her throat. Leaning over she heaved allowing all the blood that had managed to get into her system to come spewing out on the white tiled floor below her. Coughin
When Danica woke she found herself lying face to face with Mason. His eyes were shut and his breath was coming steadily, it seemed that he was still deeply asleep.Examining him up close as he slept she couldn't help but find herself appreciating just how good he truly did look. Even with five o'clock shadow he still looked handsome."Done staring." Mason murmured catching Danica off guard."You were awake?" Danica demanded slapping his shoulder. "Why didn't you say something?""Then I wouldn't have caught you checking me out." Mason chuckled opening his eyes. "Did you sleep well?""Well enough." Danica responded beginning to stretch her sore muscles. She couldn't stop the wince that came when she lifted the shoulder that the female rogue had bitten."Careful." Mason said quickly sitting up. "You don't want to reopen the wound.""I won't." Danica insisted. She didn't know how to r
