Outside the black snow had finished falling and the whole area beyond her tent looked to be covered in ash rather than snow. Curiousity getting the better of her Danica quietly exited the tent so she could get a better look at it. She had woke up much earlier than everyone else so she had a little time to kill before it was time to go about waking Mason.
Stepping out into the snow she found that it felt just like normal snow would underneath her feet, granted she didn't know what she had expected, but it was just too weird to not expect something different.
"Not a good idea to venture too far alone." Turning Danica found herself facing the warrior that was called Vincent.
He was watching her with a curious expression on his face as if he couldn't quite figure her out.
"I didn't think anyone was awake." Danica said as her cheeks flushed.
"I was second on watch." Vincent explained smiling. "We couldn't possibly lea
"Oh yes... Mason.... Mason." Danica panted as Mason moved quicker within her. They hadn't even been in their room for five minutes before Mason began his onslaught. With the way he was acting you would think that they hadn't done anything in weeks rather than just a few hours."Scream my name baby." Mason groaned kissing the side of Danica's neck. "I love that the most.""MASON... OH GOD....MASON!" Danica screamed as she began to convulse around Mason causing him to jerk and let out a low growl.Panting Danica allowed herself to get lost in pleasure as the convulsions continued to consume her. Finished with his work Mason rolled over collapsing on the bed beside Danica."What was that for?" Danica asked rolling over so she could look at him. "You acted like a possessed man.""That jealousy of yours just drove me wild." Mason smirked lifting a hand to push a stray strand of hair behind Danica's ear. "I coul
Arlo didn't bother looking up as Danica and Mason closed the distance between the office door and his desk. He was busy scribbling something on a piece of parchment in front of him with a frown deeply etched on his face. Clearing his throat Mason tried to get Arlo's attention as Danica remained silent. As if remembering they were there Arlo looked up placing his pen on the desk beside him. He continued to frown as he met Mason's eyes."Something wrong?" Mason asked curiously."Nothing for you to concern yourself with Alpha Mason." Arlo said, "Have a seat please."Motioning to the two chairs in front of his desk he waited as Danica and Mason took their seats."Thank you." Danica said politely keeping her gaze firmly locked on Arlo. She couldn't deny the fact the elf had a domineering presence and ever since their last encounter she couldn't seem to calm down when she was around him. Why they even had to humor and deal
A light knocking at the door woke Danica from her slumber. Groaning she rolled over and pushed Mason's shoulder as another round of knocking sounded."What?" Mason asked groggily."Door." Danica grumbled. "Can you check it?"Yawning Mason got up out of the bed and looked for his pants. Slipping them on he went to see who was rude enough to wake them before their alarms went off.Still exhausted from being kept up for most of the night, Danica rolled over and tried to fall back to sleep as the soft murmuring of voices rocked her like a lullaby, at least until they began to increase in volume and urgency.Curiousity waking her Danica sat up and looked towards Mason's back. Even though she wanted to get up and go see what was being said, she was unable to do so since her clothes were scattered about the floor and she didn't know who was outside of the door. Containing her slowly building anxiety she waited until, finally,
Letting out a curse Mason moved forward leaving Danica behind as he and his pack mates engaged with the group of abaasy that had begun to attack. Not wanting to stand around and not help Danica ran towards the closest abaasy she could find as she felt the dark being beginning to stir within her.'Wanna help?' She asked it as she felt the normal tug of the being taking over.'Gladly.' The being chuckled yanking hard and pushing Danica to the side.Fully in control the being grabbed an abaasy that was jumping towards it and heaved throwing it through the air before another abaasy jumped on its back. Snarling the being yanked the abaasy and dug its teeth into the creatures shoulder. Yanking it ripped the skin of the abaasy clean off before tackling it to the ground.Shrieking and slashing its claws the abaasy tore at Danica's chest trying to get the being off of it. Oblivious to the pain entirely the being bit the creatures thro
Danica desperately tried to open her eyes so that she could fix her gaze on her adoptive mother. It had been over a month since she last saw Martha and the sudden longing she felt at just hearing her voice left her in a state of struggle."Who are you?" Nigel asked. "Why are you here?""I can help." Martha said once more with a long sigh."Help us?" Mason asked sounding unsure."May I come in first?" Martha asked.Danica could hear the sound of feet shuffling before Martha's high heeled steps made their way across the floor and to her side. She could feel the sensation of her cheek being touched as Martha took in a shaky breath."Now that you're in what do you plan on doing?" Nigel demanded.Trying to open her mouth Danica wanted to reprimand Nigel for the way he was talking to Martha, no one was allowed to disrespect her."I can lift the curse that is on Danica." Martha said.Shocked Danica tried to fi
Still lost in confusion Danica just watched as Martha looked around the room at everyone before finally resting her gaze on Danica."I'm sorry for keeping so much from you." Martha said moving forward and placing a hand on Danica's cheek. "I know it wasn't fair to you, but I did it for your own good.""What are you talking about?" Danica asked grabbing ahold of Martha's hand.Mason who was still holding Danica let a low growl escape him, clearly now seeing Martha as the enemy that put his mate through torture."Mason...." Danica warned as Martha simply chuckled."It seems that he cares deeply for you." Martha said looking happy. "I'm so glad you've managed to find your one person.""Why are you talking like that Martha?" Danica asked. The way she spoke it was beginning to sound like this may be the last time she were to see her. It wasn't like she would be disappearing from her life, right?"Danica
Jumping up Danica frantically looked around the room trying to locate Martha. Even though her rational brain understood that Martha was gone, the other part was convinced that she had just disappeared and reappeared in a different location."MARTHA!" Danica screamed urgently searching the room. "MARTHA THIS ISN'T FUNNY!"Danica's vision was blurred from all the tears that were falling and her heart felt like a ton of needles were stabbing into it one after another. To her Martha was the only family she had known since losing her parents, and in a way she had been much more of a parent. She just couldn't believe that Martha was gone, there was no way she could be gone.As she continued to search Danica could feel the dark being emerging within her once more and it was livid. It seemed that the loss of Martha had hit the being hard as well and now with the curse gone there was nothing holding the being's full force back.&
Danica sat alone outside in the training grounds staring up at the night sky. The moon was almost full, a sign that soon she would finally shift to her wolf form for the first time since she discovered that she wasn't actually human. A tingle of anticipation and fear ran through her as the reality of the whole thing hit her. With Martha's passing she had had no time to think about it at all.It had already been a week since Martha's death, a long agonizing week of constantly reminding herself that the woman who was her only family was truly gone. During the week Mason had been a saint allowing her space and not taking offense from her cold shoulder and need to be alone."You should have a jacket." Came Mason's voice just as a coat was draped around Danica's shoulders.Turning Danica gave him a small smile, "Thanks." She didn't know when he had arrived, but his presence was soothing."Are you ready for your first officia
