Marybeth didn't get a chance to pull herself together. Almost as soon as Austin vanished from the room, the door creaked to life, and her boss stepped inside.

She quickly brushed away her tears and stood up, taken aback when Seshnee sashayed in behind Smith.

"Ms Naidoo," Marybeth said, half-heartedly waving at the social worker. She didn't expect to hear from her until tomorrow or Thursday at the earliest, and she didn't know if she should be worried or relieved.

"Ms Tyson," Seshnee greeted back with a tight-lipped smile and set her Fendi bag on the desk.

"Is everything okay?" asked Marybeth, tilting her head slightly as she took in the other woman's appearance. With her red bodycon dress, matching high heels and long dark hair tumbling down her back in glossy waves, Seshnee didn't look like a social worker. But then again, Marybeth didn't know any other social worker.

"I thought we'd only hear from you tomorrow," she continued as she approached the desk.

Marybeth sjould just redign from the school and be a stay at home Mom for Orlando. Let the painted social worker in red .handle the mess,, for a change. Orlando needs her.
