Chapter 134

Mercer informed Carol and Zoey, who rushed to the hospital immediately. With her mother and sister by her side, Calla felt better.

At least she wasn't easily agitated any longer, but she remained silent and melancholic.

After seven days in the hospital, it was time for discharge.

Jasmine had packed up her belongings, and Alicia peeled an apple for Calla to eat.

"Thanks," Calla said, taking the apple and nibbling on it listlessly.

Noticing the time, Alicia frowned and asked, "Why isn’t Mercer here to pick you up?"

"He must be busy," Calla said, forcing a smile on her pale face.

"No matter how busy he is, he should come to take you home. You were hospitalized because you were giving birth to his baby," Alicia said. Her voice carried a clear tone of disapproval.

Calla didn’t respond. She instead turned to Jasmine and said, "Jasmine, you take the bags and hail a cab. Alicia can take me home."

"Alright. Ms. Beckett, I’ll leave her in your hands." Jasmine smiled at Alicia and left
