Mirabel:

I ate my food in silence for the fourth time in a row without mom and dad at the dinner table. I missed them so much. I hated when they take these ridiculous trips. It always lasts for weeks. I miss when they were always around.

“I'm going to ask her out.”

Jackson said to his best friend, Klein and I rolled my eyes at him. He was such a little womanizer, it pissed me off.

I loved my brother to the moon but he was such a player sometimes and he was only 16.

I couldn't believe he didn't miss mom and dad, they'd been gone three weeks now, longer than usual.
