The fact that Jazmin descended from a distinguished and wealthy family had been the perfect excuse for her to never worry about doing anything useful in her life. She had graduated from college but had never exercised her profession, was not involved in the family business, and she didn't care either since her father would inherit it enough that it would never be necessary to work.
She was upset and irritated in her room, thinking about her last conversation with Carlos, wanting to be with him … especially, remembering his recent birthday. She was calling him, but he never answered her for what she stopped insisting on.
Deep down, she knew that he didn't care if she congratulated him or not, it was clear that there was no love between them, so she finally accepted the divorce process, assuming that always, in one way or another, she would be present in her ex's life … and of course, would also receive a juicy share in the distribution of assets upon divorce, since there was never a prenuptial agreement between them, except for the house of his parents and the Mon'tblank for being these an inheritance that Carlos received before the marriage.
Several days had passed and Jazmin was still intrigued by that woman: Who the hell was Sara?
Her thoughts were interrupted when someone knocked on her door.
“Hi Jaz, can I come in?”
“What do you want Brian!?”
“Quiet! Wow, but what a humor you have! Let me guess … Did you also quarrel with Carlos today?”
“Just say what you want and go, I'm not for your games,” she said pitifully.
“Come here … calm down, what happens? Why are you so upset?” He asked hugging her to comfort her.
“Have you been to Mon’tblank recently?”
“Come on Jaz, you know I love that place, pity that ‘your ex's embittered’ doesn't sell it … I would have bought it, centuries ago.”
“Enough nonsense, Brian! Have you seen Carlos with new conquest? Is he dating someone else?”
“As if it were that easy! You know he is like a damn vault, to spy you must have the password,” he replied annoyed. “But, what do you want to know?”
“Brian, the last time I was with him, he mentioned a woman's name and I need to know who she is.”
“He was drunk? I mean … mentioning another woman in front of you is like practicing ‘bungee jumping’ with the rope tied around your neck!” He laughed, imagining the situation.
“Can't you just put the jokes aside?!” She screamed angrily. “Sara! Carlos said, Sara!”
Brian's laughter stopped at hearing that name, but he struggled to hide his discontent.
“Let's see, it doesn't necessarily have to mean something, maybe he was just confused.” Neither was he convinced of his poor argument.
“Yeah right! He got confused … Jazmin and Sara, they are very similar! Carlos got confused just when he and I had sex? Got damn! How the hell can you confuse names like that?! It is obvious that this woman was on his mind while that bastard was with me.”
Brian listened attentively and in complete silence. Clearly, he did not expect something like this, he had many plans with Sara and he was not going to allow, for anything in the world, that Carlos meddled between them.
“You were suddenly very quiet. You know who that woman is, right?”
“Yes, I know who is … but the truth is, I don't think you should worry about her, I don't think he has anything with that girl.”
“Because, what you say? Why are you so sure?”
“For starters, she's dating me.”
“Oh, of course! And how she goes out with you … It's 1000% guaranteed that she doesn't date Carlos too!!”
“Jazmin, stop the hysteria! Sara is obviously not his type. He will never notice her”
“So horrible is that woman?”
“Jazmin isn't horrible!” Now it was Brian who left his relaxed and fun demeanor to start getting irritated. “She is a waitress at the Mon’tblank.”
“Waitress?!” She asked indignantly.
“I already told you, it is very likely that he has been confused, the girl is new so, as impatient as Carlos is, he must already have worn out the name of her employee.”
He said, trying to divert Jazmin's attention. He knew that she would not remain calm and chase Sara. That didn't suit him.
“How come you're dating a waitress?” She had known Brian many conquests, but none of them had been outside his social circle.
“Little sister, you with your torments and I with mine.”
“I need to meet that woman and you are going to help me.”
“No way! You are not going to spoil my moments with her.”
“Calm down, I have no intention of spoiling anything. On the contrary, it is convenient for me to keep that little woman away from Carlos,” said Jazmin while thinking of a way to get to know her. “I just want to know who she is. Invite her to the club tomorrow and we'll meet there since it's obvious that at the Mon'tblank it would be impossible.” Brian thought about it for a moment and liked the proposal.
“Not such a bad idea, but … after meeting Sara, two questions at most, and you're leaving! I want to share only with her. Done deal?”
“Perfect!” Jazmin replied, unable to hide her smirk.

That night Brian went to the bar and discreetly requested to be attended by Sara.
“Good night, Mr. Smith.”
“Good night beautiful. How are you?”
“Very well,” she paused. “Although, I don't think it's a good idea, that I attend your table.”
“What is not a good idea is that you treat me again as ‘Mr. Smith’, and less after what it took you to call me by my first name, but I am willing to ignore it if you accept my invitation and come with me to the club tomorrow.”
“To the club?”
“I will tell you that I came exclusively to invite you, so I will not take no for an answer. Quiet, it will be early in the afternoon, you will not have schedule problems or anything like that, and I will bring you very punctual to your work.” She didn't know what to answer, she had never been to a club, she didn't even know for sure what that place was about. She wasn't sure if she accepted that invitation … but Brian didn't give her a choice.
“I will come to find you at your residence, tomorrow at noon so that we may have lunch together,” she remembered the lie she had told him, about where she lived, the same one that she should continue to maintain.
“It's okay. I will be ready.”
Brian finished his drink, said goodbye to her with a soft kiss on the lips, and left. Sara was thoughtful since she did not know … What was done in a club? What kind of clothes should I wear? Then, as always, she ran out to ask Jean Pierre for a consultation, he always had an answer for everything.
Carlos noticed Brian's visit, but he left the bar so quickly that he ignored him. He was very busy with more important things.

The next day, Sara arranged herself as best she could and was punctual in the sentry box of the residential complex. She had to ask the security guard for permission to wait there, and since he had seen her before, he did not refuse. She didn't want to leave anything to chance, although she was already considering that she would talk to Brian and tell him the whole truth.
When the blond went to look for her, he was surprised to see her waiting for him at the sentry box, it seemed a very strange attitude since she could have waited for him in the comfort of her apartment, he did not say anything about it, he just greeted her as usual and they started the way to the club. While in the vehicle, Sara kept thinking about how much she liked Brian, because he was very resourceful, charismatic, not to mention elegant and handsome. From the beginning, although he was sometimes indiscreet, his treatment was cordial and respectful with her, deep down, she felt comfortable and happy for her friendship with him.
In the middle of her reasoning, she could not avoid Carlos being present, his personality was like the other side of the coin. In addition to being elegant and handsome, he was also athletic and had those beautiful blue eyes that constantly rendered her speechless, dealing with him had been quite unstable and turbulent, but although it sounded very contradictory, she couldn't deny that he was a man who inspired her confidence and security, even despite his short temper. Lately, she was discovering a new facet that debunked any bad time or misunderstanding in the past, Carlos was more passionate … more profound. The fact of losing his parents so young, made him mature, teaching him to fend for himself and defend himself, perhaps the only flaw for Sara, was knowing that he was her boss.
Of course, all these comparisons and intentions were hidden in that part of her memory that she classified as ‘the section of unrealizable fantasies’ since both Carlos and Brian were infinitely far from her reach. Sara was not stupid and she knew that these encounters with the blond were just an adventure, something interesting to tell her future grandchildren. These types of men were not looking for a ‘poor waitress’ to get married and even less to organize their life and start a family. It was only enough to see Jazmin, blonde, beautiful, tall, refined, and elegant, the ideal of any man … starting with Carlos and, unfortunately, she was all the opposite of this list. I don't even know why I think of so much nonsense, as soon as I confess the truth to Brian … he will push me out of his life himself.
She knew that day would come and just thinking about it made her feel unhappy and depressed, but what she hated most about confessing her past was feeling that she would also disappoint Carlos … they were both going to take her out of their lives. She discreetly shook her head to drive away the sad thoughts, as she watched the vehicle slow down and enter a large parking lot, so she deduced that they had already arrived, one more reason to put aside worries and try to smile. Once inside the club, Brian, as a good companion, set about giving Sara a quick tour to show her the place, finally, both settled at one of the restaurant tables that were located around the pool.

At the same time of these events…
Jazmin had contacted Carlos, saying that she needed to see him urgently, for something related to the documentation of the assets that she received during the divorce process. Initially, he did not think about attending, since for those matters, he had hired a qualified lawyer, who ‘patiently’ took care of everything, but she insisted so much that he had no other option. No wonder that Jazmin continued to invent problems, she had done it for years, because of her the entire divorce process had been great torture that lasted much longer than expected, the positive was that everything was over and, from that marriage, there was only a distant memory … also, he knew that she continued to be upset and, although they were already separated, he was not so lout as not to apologize for humiliating her, unintentionally, mentioning another woman in a moment of intimacy. Basically, he went to that meeting to smooth things over and ‘finish the party in peace’.
Since the pool area was the focal point of the club, where everyone gathered to have fun and share, he barely made it to the club and as he surveyed the place, searching for Jazmin, he almost immediately noticed the presence of Brian and Sara who had lunch together. Definitely, the last thing he expected was to meet one of them there.
Damn! What are you doing here Sara? And accompanied by that idiot!
That vision got him so out of control that, without thinking twice, he began to walk in their direction. From the moment he met the story of Sara, he had proposed to take care of her, he was not going to allow anyone to hurt. She would not become Brian's new toy.
Over my corpse!
Shortly before reaching that table, Jazmin crossed his path, receiving him with a hug and a big kiss on the lips taking advantage, unknowingly, of the instant of deep anger and abstraction that Carlos was going through.
“But, look who's here.” Brian, who was attentive to the arrival of the guests, did not waste the opportunity to highlight the scene. It was inevitable for Sara to feel a lump in her throat and an unpleasant sensation in her stomach when she saw Carlos and that woman kissing.
That afternoon, both Carlos and Sara knew the bitter and repugnant taste of jealousy, the seed of discord had just been planted in both hearts, even so, they had no choice but to regain control of their emotions and continue as if nothing had happened … after all, there was only a simple boss-employee relationship between them, right?
“Why did you quote me, Jazmin?” He asked bluntly.
“Love, the truth is that I had several doubts about some documents and—”
“Did you have doubts!?” He replied annoyed.
“Well … yes. Excuse me, after we spoke the lawyer called me and the truth is that he explained to me, in detail, everything I needed and—”
“You always wasting my time, Jazmin!” He replied furiously as he pulled away from her. “From the beginning, I told you that you could solve that with the lawyer.”
“I'm sorry, really … but you're already here, why not take advantage of the occasion? Your birthday was recently and, although you insist on not celebrating it … I have called you several times.” To be honest, Carlos had no intention to withdraw from that place, leaving Sara with Brian's idiot so, to Jazmin's amazement, he decided to stay and continued walking until he reached the table where the couple had already finished having lunch.
“Good afternoon, ‘dear brother-in-law’. To what do we owe the honor of your unusual presence?” Brian came forward to greet him, seeing him approach with a hostile attitude, as always. The Mon'tblank didn't care at all about what the blond said, to tell the truth, he wasn't even listening to him, his mind and eyes were elsewhere … in Sara. And, although she wanted to remain neutral, her reaction to hearing the blond call him ‘brother-in-law’ it did not go unnoticed by any of those present.
“Why are you surprised? Didn’t you know that your boss and I, apart from ‘excellent friends’, are also brothers-in-law?”
Honestly, he could not believe that Carlos had not told Sara about his relationship with Jazmin … although, on the other hand, he felt some relief to think that the chestnut was not as involved with the ogre of her boss, as his sister suspected since if so, she would be aware even of their past lives. Come on, it wasn’t classified information either! A couple of questions were enough to know the whole story. If Sara didn't know, it was because she clearly wasn't interested. “Anyway, beautiful … she is Jazmin, my sister and Carlos's wife.” He said pointing to the one mentioned.
Sara realized that Brian's sister was the same woman with whom she had seen Carlos.Jazmin and Brian brothers? She couldn't believe it, although some things were beginning to make sense to her, remembering that the blond had mentioned a woman when he argued with her boss at the bar. She had become so absorbed, organizing her ideas, that she had to react soon and get out of her thoughts if she didn't want everyone to start looking at her strangely. She tried to raise her hand to introduce herself, but assumed, from the way Jazmin looked at her, that the woman had no intention of shaking hands, so she only greeted. In Sara's mind, this phrase was constantly repeated,‘She is Jazmin, my sister and Carlos's wife’But, he had told her she was his ex-wife. Why deny it, she was too bothered by the fact that he had not corrected the error.Or was there nothing
On Sunday, Carlos was still upset … although, to be honest, even he himself couldn't identify the true cause of his continued bad temper. He no longer knew if because of Brian's stupidity, Sara's lies, or because of himself, for having been a coward for not expressing his feelings when he had the opportunity. If he had, she would never have gone into Brian's arms and nothing bad would have happened.**«»**Night came and the Mon'tblank opened its doors. Carlos was in the kitchen, giving some instructions to the staff when one of the security officers approached to inform him:“With permission, Mr. Mon'tblank.”“Tell me.”“Someone is waitin
“Sara, look at me.”He spoke to her in a soft voice, but she wasn't brave enough to hold his gaze, her heart was pounding, the oxygen inside the room became insufficient, and her nervousness worsened every time she remembered how obvious it had been. She had given herself away like a fool in front of him. She needed to get out of that office before she continued to make mistakes and if he continued to looking at her that way, she was not going to be able to contain herself or hide everything that his closeness made her feel. She tried to confuse him in order to escape, but Carlos remained firm in his position and this time he was determined to ‘finish the task’, so he moved closer to Sara and gently, but firmly, he took her by the waist bringing her closer slowly, he caressed her cheek and with his thumb, he lightly brushed the corner of her lips, all while lo
Monday morning … Both, Carlos and Sara, were still trying to assimilate what had happened the night before, each from his place, and although they had not yet started a relationship, both received the new day with a wide smile, excited and with the imagination flying between the clouds. Carlos was no longer a young man. Yes, he was passionate … but romanticism was not exactly his specialty, perhaps due to his strong, demanding, and direct personality. For a long time, he concealed his feelings for Sara, in a vain attempt to keep control of the situation, just as he maintained control of everything in his life, but brutal and shamefully, he failed in the attempt. He could not deny that the closeness of the young woman affected him in ways that he himself could not, and did not know how to explain, her mere presence altered his heartbeat, his breathing, his thoughts … his world completely.
During the rest of the week, the staff had noticed certain changes in Carlos' behavior but were unaware of what was happening. He maintained his strong character regarding standards compliance and quality work, but at the same time, his attitude was much more relaxed and even friendly. Sara had proposed him, almost begged, that things in the Mon'tblank continue the same, she thought that if some coworkers were already looking at her suspiciously since her sudden hiring, starting a relationship with her boss would not make things easier for her. At first, Carlos strongly opposed, since there was no reason to hide, but in the end, he ended up giving in on the condition that it only be for a few days, at least to give her time to assimilate things. And, although the relationship was at a very early stage, Carlos was happy and very much enjoyed Sara's company. It was clear that this time, he would take the time and think t
My Parlanchina, now what did you do?Thought Carlos in love and overprotective, while another of his facets … the severe Carlos, lover of the laws and fighter for just causes, moved quickly, pushing everything and everyone out of his way to take control and take charge of the situation.“Sara, what's going on?” He approached her, taking her shoulders firmly, trying to transmit calm, which to be honest, he himself lacked at the moment. The second of the agents, whom he had completely ignored since his attention was focused on preventing her from being handcuffed, placed himself next to Sara, with which Carlos could confirm that he was someone known, given the exercise from his profession as a lawyer. Perhaps that was why they had waited for him and not yet taken her away, he knew the procedures very well and knew that it
He began to feel bad, so much so that, without realizing it, a couple of tears appeared and ran down his cheeks, this time he did not try to hide them, after a long time, he allowed himself to be weak. So much uncertainty hurt him … it really did.**«»**When he returned to the Mon'tblank, it was very obvious that everyone was intrigued, even more, when they did not see Sara return with him, the comments and gossip increased, which he completely ignored. Jean Pierre, who had been worried and nervous about what had happened, when he saw Carlos's hurt look and his red eyes, knew that everything was wrong, for a moment he wanted to ask him but quickly realized that it was not the time. He would be more helpful to his godson by giving him some privacy and tending things at the b
“Don't let them return her, she had trouble with the sheriff. That man is a truly despicable being. I don't understand how he's still in charge! No one knows exactly what happened, we were only informed of the robbery and that she escaped after seriously injuring that nasty man, but nothing else. I can't say for sure, but there are many comments about corruption and many wrong things. That man should never know where Sara is!”“It may be a little late, it is very likely that he is already aware of her arrest, but I promise that I will do my best to avoid her transfer. Do you think that the director of the orphanage can attend me tomorrow?”Carlos asked, handing her a card with his information and phone.“I will talk to her, surely there will be no problems, here Sara was always very dear and appreciated. Please, tell m
They had been living together for a few months, by far the best stage of their lives and, although all the situations experienced in the past had left many consequences, they put all their efforts to overcome them and move on. Carlos decided to return to practice criminal law regularly, attending to some cases of young people who, like his Parlanchina, had gotten into trouble due to their inexperience, rebellion, lack of support, and/or poor guidance. The chestnut for her part, and with the unconditional support of her boyfriend, carried out the initial phase of her project, to offer accommodation and food to all needy or homeless young people, especially those who, by reaching the age of majority should leave the orphanages. To the latter to train them and help them take off … help them to integrate into the difficult society, the same one from which they had been excluded throughout their growth and t
“Can I ask you something?” Carlos looked at her with a soft smile on his lips and nodded. “Can you kiss me like the other day?” Carlos didn't ask for which day, but from the way Sara caught his lips, he could only remember her just getting out of the bathroom, wrapped in that tiny white towel with little drops of water sliding all over her skin.He couldn't contain himself any longer, the kisses, although deep, had a slow start, but little by little the passion was increasing. He moved away a little, bringing his forehead back to hers, trying to breathe and, above all, to regain his sanity a bit, he knew that Sara was very vulnerable and perhaps it was not the best moment, but when he feel the softness of her lips, remember her sweet taste and breathe in the delicious perfume of her hair, all his skin prickled and drove him crazy to the point of suppressing his thoughts and annulling his rationa
The next morning, Carlos left very early to buy various things he needed and when he returned, without wasting time, he went directly to the annex. Sara was just waking up and although she was feeling a little calmer, she hadn't slept much the night before, so she wasn't in the mood to get out of bed that morning, but hearing noises in the kitchen forced her to get up and go to investigate.“Good morning princess, how are you feeling?”“Good morning.” She answered hesitantly, still half asleep, repeatedly rubbing her eyes to clear her vision, as she was too intrigued to see the amount of bags and things Carlos had brought with him, which he had left on the kitchen island while he organized them and selected one or another pan from the cabinet that was in the corner.Although he had a full set of keys to the place, it was unu
One afternoon, Sara could not bear it any longer, took advantage of a small distraction from Carlos, verified that her documents and some money were in her purse, before leaving the annex without a definite course. She felt drowned within those four walls, she needed to walk, breathe, cry, scream. The image of Alex in that morgue was not erased from her mind, she had very difficult events throughout her life, but this surpassed her and, as much as she sought it, she did not find a way to recover. Alex was always a care and protection provider when she needed him, but as soon as the roles were reversed, she abandoned him, he died alone, maybe he felt betrayed, mocked … that's why he committed suicide. She walked non-stop and without a destination for many minutes … maybe too many, at some point she felt disoriented, the tears and nerves were not very helpful, they did not allow her to concentrate.
After several days, he finally received a call from Officer Ramirez.“I have news of young Alexander Gonzalez, unfortunately, they are not good at all.”The last thing Carlos wanted, the last thing that could go through his mind was having to give Sara bad news, he huffed and closed his eyes while he massaged his temples a little, feeling a strong pressure on his chest, knowing that pain and sadness it was what she least needed at this moment. He continued listening, and while Ramirez spoke, everything was getting worse.“As you well know, the young man had been released after the authorities reviewed several of the cases handled by that commissioner.” He paused almost forcing. “The detail is that … we have a body, unclaimed, in the morgue of a community near Pueblo Soreno, whose characteristics completely coinc
Sara was in the middle of her last week of community work, abide by all the rules, and although she lived convinced that when she obtained her total freedom, she should leave and forget about Carlos, she recognized that between thinking about it and doing it there was a great gulf of difficulty. On several occasions, Carlos approached and tried to resume the conversation from that night, but she made it clear that her decision was already made and flatly rejected any exchange between them, now it was Sara who raised the emotional barrier, but higher and impenetrable than ever.Although at first glance the blue-eyed seemed serene, the truth was that with the passing of the days he had begun to despair and although it was the last week of the service, Sara still had to wait a few more days, until she formally obtained her complete freedom, so he had decided to take advantage of every minute to recover the love o
“Gina, right?”She didn't need any answer, the Frenchman's single glance said it all.Jean Pierre, who knew what was happening at the bar, tried to keep Sara calm and, above all, away from problems. She remained silent, but it was obvious how upset she was. She hated herself for taking so long to decide to enter the bar, so the witch had gone ahead. What the hell am I doing sitting in this corner like a perfect loser? She reproached herself. She came to that place turned into a lioness, but as soon as she learned that she was relegated, she began to feel like a cowardly cat who fears a miserable mouse. How many hours had she invested to look moderately pretty in Carlos's eyes? Even she had worn that dress that a coworker had given her when she first arrived at the Mon'tblank, which she believ
Sara was outside, sitting in front of the garden that divided the main house from the small annex, drinking a coffee, wanting to change her surroundings, breathing fresh air, bored, alone. Thanking for the help she received to regain her freedom, but at the same time feeling so miserable to have no one to talk to. She hated being alone, she missed her mother Rosa, her brother Alex, whom she still couldn't see, although her mother had told her that he was fine, that the authorities were reviewing his case and that he would probably be free very soon.It was Sunday and Jean Pierre arrived at the bar much earlier than usual, to do a pending job. Sara, who had not had any contact with anyone in the Mon'tblank, since that night when she lost her freedom, as soon as she saw him arrive, she ran to greet him and hug him.She couldn't help her heart leaping with excitement when she s
“Do you think it's just that? Of whether or not you went to La Ciudadela? Of your virginity?” He looked at her like he was looking for a million answers in Sara's eyes, in the end, and finding nothing, he just smiled in frustration, gave up on what he was trying to do and walked away again, ready to go.“Carlos, please don’t go!”“I just fired Renata.” He spoke without showing any kind of emotion or feeling in his voice, while Sara was surprised to hear him since she did not imagine him saying goodbye to who for so many years had been his right hand in the bar.“Renata?”“Do you want to know why?” He paused. “Simple, because I can't trust her anymore, I can't trust someone who can sell even her soul for pennies.” Sara reflected immediat
