Chapter 16: Blank Space

Only three days left until Neo’s birthday and our first out of town trip together as well as my first vacation in five years. There were a lot of exciting things waiting for us and of course, Neo couldn’t contain himself.

I too would be overly excited if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve been so drained at work lately. Ever since the big accident, we still took care of all the patients. Fortunately, they were all getting better by the day, but that didn’t mean caring for them stopped.

I mean, it did lessen, but the aftercare process was still almost as tedious. Sometimes there would also be a few hiccups such as some patients becoming moody and disorderly in the hospital. It was a real pain in the ass.

I’m staring at the blank paper when my phone alarm goes off. I set it to go off so I wouldn’t forget to make dinner. That means I have to start making it now so with that in mind, I placed all the mail on the table and decided to go on with my day first.“Hi, mommy. The food smells amazing.” Neo is awake and he’s giving me his sweet little smile as he rubs his eyes.“Thank you, baby. It’ll be done soon. Why don’t you do some coloring with your books on the table first?”He nods his head excitedly and his tiny legs walk over to the table.A few minutes later, I managed to finish dinner – Lapskaus (stew) and nikujaga (braised meat and potato

  • Banished With His Heir   Chapter 18: Birthday Boy

“Good morning, birthday boy.” I greet Neo with a wide smile, pushing the hair off his face upward and he does small crunches with his arms and legs.“Hmm…” He coos. He’s still tired, especially after he had a big day yesterday when we threw him a small party with his friends at the kindergarten.“Want to sleep more, my love? We can reschedule the amusement park if you wa–”“I’m awake!” He says immediately, eyes shooting open before sitting up on his bed like Frankenstein coming to life. “I’m ready!” He shouts with conviction and a concerned smile plastered on his face as he looks at me, probably checking if I was being serious.

River Colden“I’m coming with you to Arizona,” Skye demanded after he barged into my room without even a single greeting.“Hello to you too, and the answer is no.” I told him as I continued packing which just consisted of me throwing whichever shirts I could find that were ideal for a city that doesn’t even hit a negative temperature.Until now, I still don’t understand how she came about with choosing one of the hottest places in the state. Doesn’t she or her wolf feel warm? I shrugged the thought away. Not really the important thing right now.“I wasn’t asking. I’m going because I want to and in case you’ve forgotten, I’m the one who found her in the fi

Past“I promise you’ll like this! Do you really think I’d give you something you won’t like?” River flashes me an innocent smile as he holds out a tart-like food, but the crust is pink and the cream is yellow. To my eleven year old brain who’s never seen such a thing, it looks like an alien’s food. But because I trusted River the most, I took it from him and slowly but surely, took a bite.Suddenly, there’s an explosion of flavors in my mouth. I taste vanilla, but mostly something sweet like a fruit, maybe a berry? But I can’t pinpoint it. It’s so good though that I devour the tiny thing in seconds.River grins at me. “I told you you would like it.”

  • Banished With His Heir   Chapter 21: Blazing Wolves

Titus BaneI tore apart the barrier as I ran through it in one go. My wolf, Phoenix, is on fire right now. Not literally, but figuratively as our heartbeat was a mile a minute from the adrenaline rushing through our veins.I almost forgot that there were others around me until I turned around and widened eyes filled with fear stared back at me.“What are you all looking at?! Start building this barrier again!” My growl echoed all over the woods and shook the ground a little.“But… but, Alpha, it took us two- two weeks to build th- that…” One of the wolves spoke to me and I started walking to him, each step creating a thud sound on the ground as my wolf was much bigger and much heavier tha

Titus. That’s his name. That’s my mate’s name.I’ve run it in my head over and over again and yet I still can’t comprehend how it was possible, that the one I thought no longer existed because I’ve never encountered him for over seven years is right here, in the same place as me.What were the freaking odds?Well, apparently, it was very high. Maybe this was the reason why all those years ago I was drawn to this place.“Mommy, look! Uncle Titus can carry me on his shoulders!” I heard Neo shout out and though I’ve been trying to avoid looking at him (because my

River Colden“You’re… her… what?” I looked at the man standing in front of me, and with every blink I made, took in his features.Green eyes. Light brown hair in an undercut style. Strong jawline still prominent over a five o’clock shadow. This man had the looks that could pull any girl, and I say that with no homo. I just can’t stop thinking… Was Keira one of the girls he managed to pull?“Come on, old friend from her old place in Norway.” He says with a light chuckle before gesturing for me to follow him.“Uh, where are we going? Are you taking me to Keira?” I asked, remembering

  • Banished With His Heir   Chapter 24: Our Son

Past “You have five seconds to get your cute butt here or I won’t be reliable for my next actions,” River (sexily) threatened me as he stood at the side of the frozen lake, hands on his hips, and a raised brow at me. “But I’ve always been bad at ice skating! You know this!” I reasoned out to him, remembering just about every other time we’ve ice skated and ended up in a disaster also known as me with bruises on my butt (that luckily healed fast). If I hadn’t told River a few days ago that I wished I could be good at it like Wynter and Elura then he wouldn’t have had this amazing idea to drag me all the way here, so I guess it’s kind of my fault then. River’s eyes smoldered as he stared at me longer. My jaw clenched at the way it felt like he was pulling me to him just by the way he looked at me. We had managed to escape the mandatory run this morning when we pretended to get lost in the track, then we deviated from the route and ended up here. I thought it was a coincidence, b

(This chapter includes sexual elements. Reader discretion is advised.) – Titus Bane – Everything is calm. So calm that it feels rather weird after everything that has happened. Chaos and destruction is all I have ever known for the most part, but now that I’m settled down at my place in my Pack, just watching the once green leaves now a mix of orange, yellow, and other Autumn colors sway with the wind, everything feels…peaceful. I closed my eyes and took a deep inhale, the smell of nature filled my senses and it invigorates me. An image of her pops up in my head almost like second nature to me. She is beautiful. The most beautiful woman to ever exist on this earth, and that’s saying a lot because this earth could be ugly and cruel, but not her, not my mate. Sometimes I still wonder what I had done in my past life to deserve someone as perfect as her, and I stop and think if this is just a dream, if everything in my life is just my imagination, and if it was, I hope to never wake

  • Banished With His Heir   Epilogue

I was seated by the tree, the exact one Syvne and Roman found me and saved me from. I was just there in silence as I held on to the pure golden necklace that had the Japanese words ‘狼霊気’ meaning Healing Wolves formed on it. This was the keepsake Sho Chiaki, the guy from Titus’ Pack that knew about my family, gave to me. He said everyone in my Pack had it and when he found out his parents had kept it all those years ago, he knew he had to give it to me. As I sat there, thinking about them, it all still felt surreal, but at the same time, I also felt calm and at peace knowing about who they are and what they did for me on that night. I could have lived a life never knowing about their existence and a part of me would have always had an empty spot, but because I met Titus and in turn Sho, I was given the opportunity to learn about them and I will always be thankful for that. And though my heart pains for what happened to them and how they didn’t deserve that, I will live my life to

  • Banished With His Heir   Chapter 82: One True Love

“Tri, can we please watch something else besides Frozen 1 and 2?” Neo, my little boy who was now six years old, turned to his best friend and gave her a pleading pout. Trinity giggled as I brushed her long red hair from behind. She was seated on my lap while Neo changed position every ten minutes as he got bored of the never-ending girly Disney movies we watched. In one year, gone are the days that he was completely absorbed with watching any Disney movie. I can’t believe how much he’s grown, but I will never get tired of seeing the changes that happen to him, physically and emotionally. I smiled at the boy whose raven hair was starting to get lighter. The streaks of silver on his hair are mixing in and it’s probably because of the fact that he’s been living in the winter season day in and day out for the past year. His complexion is lighter and his cheeks are as pink as a rose petal that I can’t help but stop and stare at him for a while because everyday, it’s like he looks more a

  • Banished With His Heir   Chapter 81: Final Wishes

River Colden The sun was starting to set and before we knew it, there would be little to no light and finding Keira under this lake would be close to impossible. Not that it wasn’t already, and fuck, I hate myself for thinking that way. I wanted to stay positive, but it was so goddamn hard when we’ve been out here frantically looking for any signs of her. I didn’t know how much I would loathe frozen lakes until today. “I don’t see her, River! I don’t see her!” I heard my brother’s desperate cries as he was on his knees, pushing away the snow that had covered most of the lake. Titus was doing the same, but he hasn’t said a single word since Ivy pointed out where Keira was. He was the first one to drop down to his knees and start searching. Until now, even while it was happening, I still couldn’t believe that it was true, that Ivy could do something so… so fucked up as to

  • Banished With His Heir   Chapter 80: Ill-Fated Bond

Titus Bane I stepped outside and walked and walked until I felt like I was far enough. My heart was beating a mile a minute and it felt like it was going to explode any second now. Seeing Keira and River in that position, so close to each other, and it being embedded in my brain like a curse just threw me into a spiral. To make things worse, River wants to have Keira as his mate and Luna. How could I have been so stupid? How could I have been so blind? It was right in front of me this whole time. Hell, it’s not like they even tried to hide it. River may have broken Keira’s heart many years ago, but Keira had been in love with him for far more. He may have done all that shit to her, but at the end of the day, they had the past. River was everything to Keira, and it’s not like it couldn’t happen again. Then there was me. The man she just met a few months ago. I may be her m

Everything until that day five years ago.The old Keira then would drop everything to accept his offer. It’s as valid as a five foot seven silver-haired woman.” He said in a tone and with an expression like he knew something I didn’t and I hated whenever that was the case.Though I hated it even more knowing that the longer I was here outside, the longer Keira was inside with Titus completely alone. It wasn’t that I had anything against the man–he did

  • Banished With His Heir   Chapter 77: One Cure

Titus Bane This can’t be happening. This can’t be fucking happening! Not her, not my little sister, the only family I have left. Fuck. Fuck, I can’t control my anger and my confusion. Just a few hours ago we were having the best time of our lives together. Trinity had never experienced so much snow and such a beautiful winter and even if she was slightly cold, this didn’t stop her from having fun. This didn’t stop her from creating memories with Neo and everyone. Now… Now she was lying down on the bed, her body shaking uncontrollably and white foam forming in her mouth. I was stunned. I didn’t know what to do. My body was frozen still and everything around me was spinning.

“So… How have you been doing? Titus asked, his eyes focused on me and only me, and I felt like I was getting sucked into them as each second passed. “Have they been treating you okay?” He added and somehow I could tell he was ready to release Hell on Earth depending on what I was going to say.It was two in the afternoon in the castle; specifically in Neo’s bedroom. After an eventful morning of playing around the frozen lake with snow arts and fights, we all had a big breakfast, walked around the territory a little as Neo toured Tri and I with Titus–while River stayed very close–and after eating risengrynsgrøt (hot rice pudding served with sugar, cinnamon, and butter) which is a traditional meal for ‘Little Christmas Eve’ around here, Neo and Tri were completely dog-tired and they were knocked out in the tree house in l
