Chapter 12: The Start of a Mission (Part 3)

2024-10-29 19:42:56The brunette was starting to wonder if Major Dylan examined every possible D-Class mission the King had to offer in hopes of finding the most insane and boring ones he could to annoy his team with as she returned scrolls to their correct shelves.
Every mission can be classified as S to E-Class, with S being the most high-end missions that consist of fighting dragons and being the heroes of the kingdom of Laera and E-Class as being the most beginner as one could get.
And Team Dylan was currently in the library for a D-Class mission. Their mission was to work as the librarian’s assistants. Sophia’s task was to return checked-in books and scrolls to the right place according to some crazy and confusing filing system, dusting the shelves as she went.

She knew element-based magic was difficult to learn, and if she ever wanted to master her two natures, she would have to start practicing now. There are three types of Knights in the association: (1) the High Knights who were the ones closest to the royal family of the Laera Kingdom; (2) the warriors, the Knights who received missions from the High Knights through the Head of the Knights Association, and; (3) the mentors, who mold the Knights for three years into strong, capable warriors. To be honest, it was too hard not to give away her secret under her teammates and mentor’s scrutinizing eyes. She had to be amazed at all times when she basically had seen all the techniques they showed from Elijah. She didn’t know how much more she could convince them that she had no knowledge of anything yet other than her by-book brain. Just like now. Sophia feigned a suitably impressed face when Major Dylan walked on water as easily as if he was walking on solid ground. All she could think of was how amazing it would be if they could not only walk on the water but also move around it… play with it. “All right, Sophia. Hello, everyone! This is XSkylar19. It has been a very interesting ride for me while writing Bane of the Dragons because (fun fact) this was my very first dragon genre. I know some of you probably disliked how everything turned out or how fastpaced everything happened but know that this was intentional as I couldn't drag the story on. Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre. The Dance of Fates: Bellatrix was my first fantasy book and I had finished it last year, 2020 so if you can go over my profile, you will find its completed version. Life took on a pattern. She was training day in and day out all day every day, except for when she went on missions. The majority of her missions were with Jackson and Caiden, but about ten percent of them occurred with other High Knights and sometimes from the Palace Knights. The only thing odd about her new routine was her missions with Caiden and Jackson. High Knight teams were fixed like amateur Knight teams. Members for a mission were decided on what skills were needed to complete. Often times you found yourself working with someone you don’t know.
