It had not been easy on them these days, fencing Blackwell and watching the barrier get lifted.

It had been four days of continuous work and no rest, as they knew their mission.

Sebastian could not help but notice how fast it was getting to the day he was supposed to meet with her brother.

He had to get ready.

He also needed to get his men ready, but here he was, getting his hands dirty and creating fencing when he should be readying his swords. He had to hurry up as the time was soon. He would occasionally look at what they had achieved so far and smile as it was great progress that they were making, and great progress, too, was beginning to be done hastily.

Sebastian had lost count of the number of trees that had fallen for this cause and how many more might fall. He was now getting more worried these days and had developed some anxiety.

However, everyone was willing to help, and no one was slacking behind or dropping off at his responsibility. They all wanted the best for Blackwell

Sebastian now saw his brother remaining calm and waiting for him to explain precisely what he was doing.Perhaps it was time he started taking him through the entire process of what he was doing with these maps. He asked after his mate and how she was doing with the pregnancy, and Silas smiled.“You worry so much about her as though you are the father of this child.” Silas teased“It’s not every day that a nearly extinct lycan pack gets an additional family member now, brother,” Sebastian said, and Silas laughed.“Now I’m becoming more suspicious. I would tell this to Mara once she’s back.” He said. When he said that, Sebastian suddenly paused at what he was doing. He had an apprehensive look, and his forehead showed that fully well. Silas thought he had said something wrong and was asking him what the problem was, but Sebastian looked on at the space for a brief moment.Mara, he had never wanted to admit his fears, but now he had to say it in his safe space.“What if we are too late

  • Bad Moon Rising   Unpredictable in all her movements.

It was tough at this point because time was not being friends with them. They had no one on their side or anyone to speak to about things that had happened. It was all up to Caelum, Abby, and Rowan to find a way around the fact that his sister would need their help.Abby had initially suggested that they go straight to Helsinger. Perhaps he would hear them out when they could prove to him that not all the werewolves were baddies and that a human also needed their help, but vehemently, Caelum had refused. His fears were for both his life and Mara’s.Also, he did not want to seem like a snitch and betrayer to the lycan that had spoken to him. Abby had decided to keep quiet for a while after Rowan had to plead, as the latter did not want to die. She stated that they had better find a way around it all, or she would go about it her way.Caelum and Rowan had agreed back then, but until now, there had been no progress as neither of the duo had reached an agreement. Caelum became worried, es

  • Bad Moon Rising   Abby's pregnant

No one left the table, and when all was done eating, it was time for wine. Everyone had his cup full as Helsinger stood up, saying he had an announcement to make that would please everyone, especially his niece Abby. That got her attention. It was only Rowan that did not seem interested as he already knew what was going to happen and be announced. His only worry was what would happen after that. That was something he had not been privileged enough to see.Well, mentioning her name had suddenly excited her to hear what her dear uncle had that would make her happy. Abby gave her full ears to everything that was about to happen. Helsinger took his cup of wine and stepped around to stand at their table. He looked around, beaming, and then began to appreciate everyone who had supported them since he lost his brother. He enjoyed how they had been dedicated to eradicating the abominations called werewolves. He specially thanked Caelum for being such an exciting addition to the family of hunt

If he could say anything about what had just happened, Rowan would exclaim how surprised he alsowas. In all the times he had been drawn by the spirits, never had they mentioned anything like this, nor did he recall anything transpiring between them. It was just a feeling he had that perhaps Caelum was one of those special kinds of persons and gifted, but nothing related to the gods had happened. This night, one moment, he had just been there with Caelum, practically waiting on Abby to resurface and perhaps also on the tops with eavesdropping; the next moment, he saw Caelum walking inside in a frenzy. He had to stop him one way or the other, so he followed him. He could not let him go anymore further without getting them in trouble. When Abby had mentioned being pregnant, Rowan had no idea how because usually he foresaw every pregnancy in the place but saw nothing about Abby’s. He also had asked Caelum in a whisper, but the latter had heard nothing. A lot was happening that night, and

  • Bad Moon Rising   Not ready

Caelum was relieved for some reasons he could not explain yet felt guilty about.Perhaps deep down within him, he knew he was not quite ready to become a father. His present worries were all about his sister and how to rescue the only family he had. This was coupled with his thirst and desire for vengeance against the man who had whipped his family off. He had no idea what had happened when he suddenly opened those doors and faced Helsinger with those words. They suddenly came to mind, and he decided to use them on him the sooner the spirits had spoken to him in their whispering voices. He had opened the door and said it straight up, and then Rowan added to his amazement. He could not believe how much further his entire story could get.Now he was satisfied that Helsinger had calmed down and was grateful for this opportunity to speak to him and that he would not have a child to worry about when he had to prepare for war. He asked for permission to speak about what they wanted, and Hel

“Well…?” Rowan said"Well, what?" Abby asked"Well, do you think they would help us or agree to your uncle?" Rowan asked her yet again. He was directing the question to her, hoping she would know their fate.If he were being truthful, he would also state how he was even worried about himself. He was a lycan; at least half of him was of Lycan's descent which meant they might dismiss him as a werewolf and turn on him even though Helsinger had given a glimmer of hope on the fact that Lycan was themselves different in the hunter's ratings. His fears were similar to those of Caelum and, surprisingly, Abby.Although the she-hunter did her best to hide her feelings but deep down, she was worried. The fact that her uncle was the leader did not mean they could not turn on him. Should a more significant part of the leaders decide to impeach him and depend on them, then impeach him, they would. And worse still, it could cost the man his life, which was the last thing Abby wanted. She had both lo

See her dilemma. She was already questioning if this was Caelum or the twin god playing his games with them. After all, they were merely puny humans he enjoyed toying with so much that it gave him pleasure alongside his twin. The gods themselves were very selfish, and probably the only thing they found essential to the humans was the entertainment they provided them with, which filled their lungs with gladness.Caelum was making his way to the council area, where they might be talking as a couple of moments ago after Helsinger left, there was ample time to gather those they needed for the meeting. He was suggesting that, yet again, they go eavesdrop on their conversation and, probably just as earlier, interrupt them when it seems to be going haywires and then convince them all the same way they had with Helsinger. But there was something Abby knew and believed in. Playing the same move twice was wrong, even with a different opponent.A spill on the moves played previously might have b

  • Bad Moon Rising   Others agreed with him, but Helsinger saw difficulties.

Helsinger had been put in a tight spot yet again and still by the line of the first person that had him onthat spot. Many years ago, when he had done that for Lucy, it had been with a promise that it would be the first and last time he would be breaking the rules for anyone that pertained to the clan and its embodiment. But yet again, he was right there on the spot, and this time for her son, who believed his idea could appeal to the clan.Helsinger, however, knew better, although he would not show.He did not want to dash their hopes on him, and if he was honest, he had been craving a little vengeance from Grimshaw since the death of his brother and sister-in-law.Now the opportunity was yet opened before him, even though this would require that they frolic and dance with the enemy.Sebastian might not have done anything to them yet, but no lay said he would be made an exception. He had been there all along, and never for once did he assist against Grimshaw. Even when the hunters ha

She had returned back to her human for, bare and all. The minute she opened her eyes, two things happen simultaneously. Grimshaw pulled a dagger andthen held it close to her stomach area just as she saw Sebastian in the action of trying to make it over. “Now you stop there boy or I would be sending her and your baby to hell.” He said “Baby?” Sebastian asked caught dead in his tracks Yes baby. He pulled her along quickly taking the shorter route to the stone altar he already had in preparation fortheir rites. The wizard was there and Grimshaw had never been more excited over his plans ahead andof time of making the wizard key into all his plans with Alexa the late sorceress. The breach of his wallshad seriously extended to where they were and it was only a matter of time before they get closer andget to him. But not for long, he was going to make certain he beats them to it. He had some of his menstand guard around the place as he pulled Mara along. He was not going to waste anymore time.“You may begin.” He said to the wizard“Yes my lord. Everything is nearly prepared but we might still be needing the one inhabited by life.” Thewizard said.Grimshaw caught Mara smirking but he had a surprise for her.“Oh she is the one inhabited by light.” He said“But I thought Alexa…” the confused wizard said“Alexa was gullible and let a little girl play a fast one on her. Grimshaw also knew within that the knowledge that her own mother had put him onpermanent protection was something way more challenging for her. He felt really proud but morehappy about the fact that her powers were actually awakening. It was a go go for him actually as he hadbeen waiting patiently to be able to harness her powers. But since what happened with his men theother day, Grimshaw suspected that something was off with her and her powers. The sorceress hadAlexa had said that it was a force field of death that she wielded based on what Mara had told her buthe could point out loopholes around those words. He knew he had to revisit that issue himself and seefor himself to make certain that her powers were what they seemed. He had asked that his men looksaround and finds the sorceress text but it would turn out that it had disappeared miraculously.Grim

They had been trying hard at keeping their ranks for sometime now as they had been really busy with the enemies. It was really tough as Sebastian had not been to war in a long but luckily for him, he had the experience and the true qualities of a leader. More and more had been falling into his ranks and aligning with his troops as everyone seemed to be calling for an end to Grimshaw’s reign. There were leaders around him both young ones and older ones to advise him and brush up his strategies. They were not so much but they were doing really well at holding out on the enemies. They fact that theywere short numbered was a cause for alarm as this was war and not a fairytale. It would only be a couple of moments and then the enemies would see through the hidden loopholes in their formation and then it would be their turn to start suffering the ills of war. That was just what Sebastian had been fighting tooth and nail to avoid. He could not loose this war. Not with the glimmer of hope h

  • Bad Moon Rising   My lord she's gone.

Three days since he sent out his men, he still was not getting any responses from the battlefield. He last heard that they were engaging each other already at a place not so far from his castle, and now he heard nothing more. Grimshaw had sent three ravens out already. Two to the light claw pack and one to his general out at the war front, but neither had responded. The panic of not knowing was killing him; all he wanted now was reassurance from the general that his men were doing well, followed by a backup from the light claw pack.Apparently, it would seem like the old pack wanted nothing to do with or assist him. Grimshaw was not short of surprises as he knew well enough that all this had everything and more to do with the distraction he had received the other night of the banquet. The heavens knew what his son and Mara had voiced to the alpha. He had been told that they met with the man away from the banquet table, and although they tried to make it seem like a tour of the sorts o

“You should stop pressurizing him about these things, Max. It is not his problem.” Artemia said to her brother.“So you think,” Maxwell said.“So I know.” She said to him, firing up.Maxwell had been at the top of his beefing with his father again; this time, he was not buying his cowardice. He could not understand why the old man was acting the way he had been, even after the young woman had affirmed that she was being married against her will to this old wolf that seemed tohave been brewing all the troubles in the entire werewolf history.Maxwell had never liked Grimshaw, not even as a child, and many times when his father would meet secretly with this man; he always felt uncomfortable about it all. His father had not sent troops to help when the first war had happened, and as a child, he had not understood the reason why but this time, he was already beginning to think about it having relations with Grimshaw. All these years, they had been living in the wild and away from everyone

"Well, good morning to you, my hubby dad," Mara said as she entered the dining room, smiling ear to earwith so much amusement, especially at his face. Someone else was seated a little too early on the table, and he snorted laughter that had him choking on the drumstick he was biting down on."That serves you right, boy, for not waiting," Grimshaw growled as he observed Mara come to sit at her place."Are you alright?" she asked Zyair, who just drank from his cup and nodded. Mara then turned to Grimshaw, who was glaring at her. There certainly was a part of him that wished she had nothing to offer him so he could snap her neck, but he could not now, could he? He needed her alive so his plans could mature into reality. Grimshaw then furrowed his brow even more profoundly as he glared."You know, girl, I would rather the other bit of our relationship be kept secret." He glared at her"I do not understand. "Are you sure you want to do this and trust those treacherous humans again as our ancestors once did, brother?" Silas asked him for the third time, but this was at the boundary of Blackwell. The past few days, or dare we assume the week, have been the most hectic as they had been up and busy with the re-establishment of Blackwell, and there have been a lot of changes. Successfully a few daysafter the barrier had fallen, they had completed the sealing around Blackwell entirely. It was far more than what little Sebastian had thought they would achieve. It would seem the hands of fate had played them with way better plans than they had ever dreamt of as it was walled a little higher. Even more exciting was the line of persons, wolves in particular, that lined outside the new gates of Blackwell to surrender themselves to the new dawn and hope which was in the person of Sebastian. A lot had been happening these few days, but also enough to remind them that there was no longer time for so

Mara stood there as the maids attended to her with sadness in her eyes. She could not believe that this was happening despite the discovery. She looked grim as they put the gown on her, as she stared back at the mirror. Here has a damsel in distress that perhaps her powers alone would not save her from her impending fate. After the last altercation with Grimshaw, he had come to her room afterward and spoken to her.Mara then went to bed and did receive a confirmation of the fact that Grimshaw was her father. In fact, from what she had seen, he had known from the moment of her turning and yet had decided to keep it safely away from her while she wallowed in his desperation to marry her. He had come and put her in the tightest of corners when he warned her of the fate of Sebastian. He had sent a spread of words about her, and he also had more news. Two days ago, he learned that Blackwell castle had been again found. The barrier had already been lifted.Hence he could easily make an atta
