"Great job, Mila. You have a talent for business," he said. "In such a short time you’ve managed to finish two projects. That isn’t easy.”

"Thanks, Mr. Williams. I'm learning to appreciate this side of the corporate world…maybe even beginning to enjoy it.”

We chuckled like colleagues would but then Mr. Williams dropped the formality façade and leaned in closer.

"And what of your plans for vacation? Did your parents decide yet?" His voice was quieter than a few moments before. My heart was racing as I thought about the controversy my mother had revealed to me.

"Yeah, Placencia in Belize," I blurted out. My anticipation rose as I studied Mr. Williams' face. His earlier smile melted into downturned lips of a frown. Mr. Williams couldn't hide his strong feelings associated with that place.

"Do you really want to go there?" he asked me, flipping a pen in his hand, glancing away. Awaiting my answer, he began to pace. Spinning around in my chair I faced him.

"I do. It looks beautiful a

"What do you think?" I asked him. "I just need a normal opinion. You're a guy so tell me." Daring to peek at me, his mouth dropped open."You look great," he finally said. "Everett isn’t going to be able to ignore you.” I hoped I hadn't made him feel uncomfortable, but I wasn’t happy with what I had now. I wanted the naughtiest skirt of all. It was a mini made of black lycra, hugging my every inch below the waist. There wasn't much left to the imagination as I stretched it over my body. Once I tried to cinch it, I ran into some trouble with the zipper.Opening the door, I searched for someone for assistance.Noting that Robert had gone to the front, I was about to ask Jen to help when I heard her laughter. It sounded like the two of them were talking. Helplessly, I stood wondering what to do but then I saw a figure. Before I could react, Mr. Williams pushed me into the changing room, locking us in.Gasping in shock, I whispered, "What are you doing?""What does it look like?" he

"You're my only friend with benefits and I definitely don't see you as a whore," he said with conviction. At that moment I was aching to know what our relationship was to him. Was I a trick on the side or was there more? Just as I was about to ask, I chickened out.My heart was racing too much for me to formulate words. Without waiting for me to speak he went on to preach."You're fine to go out with Robert. It will help culture you, since you haven't met enough men," he said but then grabbed my chin turning me to him. "Don't fuck him." His dark eyes were penetrating as he held my gaze.I shook him off me, slapping his hand away. This was absurd."You just toyed with my body, and now you're trying to meddle with who I see. I can date whoever I want, and you can't tell me otherwise!"Before he could answer, I rushed out the door. I was in such a hurry; I didn’t even zip my skirt. It didn’t matter to me. I just had to be out from his watchful eye.Though I was running from him, wh

As I mulled this over, I realized I didn't want to leave Mr. Williams' company. The thought of being away from him was awful and the shame my family would feel if they ever learned the truth...My heart sank at the thought."I would love to have a change of pace, but if I don't do what Mr. Williams wants, I'm afraid he'll hold it over my head. What if my parents found out? He's threatened to tell them before.""Oh, poor Mila, trapped because a father and son are infatuated with you. What a horrible problem to have.”She huffed and rolled her eyes, then with her chopsticks grabbed a thick piece of sushi and stuffed it in her mouth. As she chewed, I glared at her."Don't tease me, Ada," I said, "This is serious. You know how shitty Everett has been and I never have a clue about what Mr. Williams' game is. Don’t add yourself to the group of people I can’t feel good around, okay?”"Alright," she said through her full mouth then reached to me and gave me a hearty hug. When we parted,

Mila's pov I only let Robert give me a peck on the cheek, but held him there long enough to whisper in his ear, "Everett's watching us." Robert was clever; he barely moved his eyes and then gave me a tiny nod. "Let's put this into full swing," he whispered back. Taking my hand, he led, helping me up the stairs. Sure enough, Everett followed only a few feet away but that wasn't good enough for him. Instead, when we stopped just inside the foyer, he did the same, standing a little close for my comfort. He flicked his eyes to Robert glaring at him with hostility. Nuzzling into my date’s chest, I introduced him. “Everett, this is Robert, my boyfriend.” "’Boyfriend’? When did you two meet?" Everett asked, narrowing his eyes, crossing his arms. He sounded skeptical. "Recently,” I said but couldn’t elaborate on our fake story. I hadn’t thought one up yet. Ada sidled over to me and without missing a beat she said, "That's right. We had dinner together just the other night. It was Tuesd

At the same time Robert asked me to dance, Ada's guy companion beckoned to her. She smiled at him, putting an index finger up to wait and then she leaned into my ear. "Be careful," she reminded me. "You look irresistibly charming, and all the men here are captivated with you." Feeling my face burn as I blushed, I thanked her then watched her walk away. Robert was still standing there but instead of waiting; he interlocked fingers with me and yanked me on the dance floor. I yelped, surprised at his boldness. "Robert!" I exclaimed gasping and widening my eyes. "Don't scare me like that." "Everett and his friends are still watching," he said quietly, barely moving his mouth. "We better keep up the act." I nodded feeling grateful he noticed them and went along with it. The truth was, I wasn't a very good dancer. I didn't party enough to know these kinds of dance moves. Repeatedly, I stepped on his shoes making things more awkward every second we were on the floor. "Oh, no, I’m sorry

With Ada having a date for the party, it was even worse that Everett kissed her in front of everyone. What a creep! I yanked the bottom of my dress up trying not to trip in my heels as I dashed over to her. "Everett, how dare you?" I hissed, helping to move Ada away from him. She was panting as she wiped her mouth. "This is completely out of line!” "It didn't feel that way," he said with a sly smile, glancing at Ada. I blocked him from going after her again. "What's the matter, Mila? You jealous?" "Oh, please," I said, shaking my head in annoyance. "Not even close." "Well, you should be. Her kissing skills are way better than yours," he said, "I wish I never wasted a second on you." It made me angry that he was trying to make me jealous, especially referencing our time in the bathroom. That was less than stellar; it bordered on assault. He crossed his arms defensively when I didn’t respond the way he expected. Then, Ralph came over with Chase egging Everett on. They each had beer

"Huh, that car looks familiar, but I can't place where I've seen it before." Robert squinted, concentrating on the driver. Ada noticed the car and knew who it was immediately. She widened her eyes and nodded at me as a signal. After climbing in the passenger seat, she pulled Robert to the driver's seat. "C'mon Robert. We gotta go. I'm not feeling ssso well,” she slurred. Robert turned around and got in the car. “See you later, Mila,” Robert said. "Goodbye! Thanks for being my dance partner!" I exclaimed then rushed over to the BMW. My palms were already sweating as my stomach fluttered in excitement. Opening the door, I slid in the passenger seat so glad to be near him but equally as confused. Watching Robert's car disappear made my chest loosen in relief. At least we wouldn’t be caught. Then my panic came back as I glanced at Mr. Williams. It wasn't until we were a few blocks from the party that my chauffeur opened a dialogue. "What happened?” he asked in a calm voice, glancing

After kissing, he moved off me, running his hands on my thighs. Sizing me up, he smirked. "Why did you wear this beautiful dress I gifted you to such a boring event?" he asked, tilting his head. "I thought it was a sign, with you sending it on the same day as the party." I was shuddering and sweating now, my heart pounding as I stared into his eyes. Sensing my unrest, he said, "About tonight, you didn't deserve what happened. My son is unruly.” "Thank you," I whispered, losing my breath. Though his caress was like fire, and I was seconds from losing self-control I couldn't give in that easily. I had to talk with him. "Mr. Williams," I began, licking my lips and swallowing, "I need to ask you something before we go any further." With all my strength, I held him at arm’s length. "By all means, my good girl." His voice was deep and smooth like velvet. “Please ask.” I managed a smile and with my eyes half shut, I drummed up the courage then asked, "What are we to you?" He paused r

I didn't want to lose him but this was stupid."You say this is a negotiation, but it seems more like a contract. I'm familiar with those now. It was you who taught me to read the fine print."Saying that pissed him off just like I knew it would. I turned from him and ran upstairs. I felt utterly alone and closed off from the world. Mr. Williams was hot as fuck, but I didn't feel comfortable with this. We had fun being spontaneous and if I was completely honest with myself, the unknowing was sometimes part of the enticement.Texting Ada, I wanted to hear some words of encouragement.Me: What are you up to? Have any pictures you can send me?I wanted anything to distract me from the discomfort that he'd just dumped on me. What a dick to make this into an ultimatum. He wanted me to call him Daddy, but that was all I was going to do. If he wanted me to call him master, that was different.Whenever Ada is with Everett, she doesn't respond to me so I wasn't surprised when I checked a

The next day, Ada came to the hospital. I could tell she had been crying for a long time. Her face was puffy and streaked and her eyelids were swollen. My heart felt heavy with guilt."I'm sorry, Ada. It was my carelessness that caused everyone to blame you.""Huh? Nobody blamed me. Mr. Williams was there to help me feel better. I was just worried sick about you.”"But Everett seemed so resentful toward you about it. That didn't bother you?"Ada shrugged and stared at the floor. Then she picked her head up and looked directly into my eyes."I have to tell you something," she said. She bit the corner of her mouth, fidgeting."Ada, what's wrong?" I asked.Everett came around the corner just as Ada was about to speak. When he entered the room, she curled back into herself and buttoned her mouth. What was it that she wanted me to know that Everett couldn't hear?"Mila, I'm here to bring you home!" he said excitedly. His words of comfort and energy were exactly what I wanted to he

I barely flinched as they injected me. An orderly helped me onto the bed, flipping his stethoscope over his head, sliding in the earpieces and listening to my chest."Her lungs aren't wheezing as badly but we aren't out of the woods yet. Let's get the treatment going."The doctor gave me more epinephrine shots and administered my nebulizer. The steamy tube of albuterol began to open my lungs. The sensation of relief was indescribable. I was going to live!Though the drugs had my body running high on adrenaline, I slowly began to feel my immune system calm down. My breathing leveled out, though my throat was in pain.Everett was pacing in the ward, holding one hand on his forehead. When he saw that I was more present, he walked over to me."Mila, you're alright.""Thank you, Everett," I said with a scratchy voice. "You remembered my inhaler and EpiPen."He nodded and smiled, exhaling in relief. Ada then rushed into the room, looking back and forth at me and the machines monitori

Once we were in a more private area, she leaned closer so we could talk quietly."Did Everett say something to you again? I'll kill that bastard," she said, punching her fist into her palm."No, no. This has nothing to do with him. It's something worse than that," I whispered. My lips were trembling as a spell of vertigo hit me. Ada gripped my shoulders, steadying me on my feet."Oh, God. Are you pregnant?" she asked with a straight face. Though it was a legitimate question, I couldn't help but smile."Thankfully, not that either," I said. "But it’s like we thought. I just saw pictures of other young girls on Mr. Williams' desktop. He didn't even try to hide it when I came in.""Slow down Mila. What exactly did you see?" she asked me, still holding my shoulders."They had statistics, descriptions, even their measurements. The girls were half naked for God's sake. It was probably a dating site."Ada didn't speak at first but then she laughed under her breath and smiled knowingly

  • Bad Mistake [Her Sweetest Mistake]   Chapter 066

"I think that's a really bad idea, Ada. We're guests here on vacation. What if I was caught snooping around? That's not only rude but crossing personal boundaries. It could get us in trouble, not to mention Mr. Williams disowning me.""Okay, okay, fine," she said, putting her hands up and slumping her shoulders in defeat. She sure likes to learn about gossip, and I couldn't help but see her point of view. In my heart I had a wicked desire to find out, too. I didn't think it would be possible to keep it at bay for much longer.Once everyone was cleaned up, we decided to go outside and eat lunch on the back patio. As we indulged in the yummy food, my parents took turns asking me why I came back alone the night before."I ended up–" I began. But before I could finish, I was interrupted."We all decided–"Ada said, then stopped."It was my fault. It–" Everett butted in.The three of us exchanged awkward glances, realizing how uncoordinated and disorganized our answers were. If only w

Mila's POV::My stomach was in knots, knowing Ada thought of me as a rat. Not only that, but I left her alone, in the middle of the night at a strange place. Then Mr. Williams scolded her; everything was a mess. But none of that mattered because she was my best friend, and I needed us to be okay.Ascending the stairs, I held my breath then softly knocked on her bedroom door."Go away!" she said in a hissing whisper. Sighing nervously, I leaned closer. This was going to be difficult to have a covert conversation through a closed door. What if my parents heard us?"I'm sorry, Ada," I whispered as loudly as I could, "I'm just worried about you. Did something happen? Was Everett there or did he leave you?"As I waited for her answers, Everett sloppily walked up the stairs, expertly inserting himself into our conversation. He leaned against her closed door, forcing me to back up. I plugged my nose as he faced me, waving my hand back and forth."You smell horrible," I complained to hi

  • Bad Mistake [Her Sweetest Mistake]   Chapter 064

Everett's POV::I accidentally told Ada the truth. My mother leaving gouged a crater in my heart that could never be filled no matter how many girls I fucked, drinks I slammed, or cars I raced. That hurt was always there now it was out in the open.I hardly talked to Dad about it, much less a fuck buddy. Dad knows though. He always has. It's exactly why he continues to let things slide with me.He's been tightening up on the finances, though. He froze my accounts for fuck's sake, and I don't know why. It must have something to do with Mila. All my life he’s rarely refused my requests but lately, something has changed.Perhaps I'd been too harsh on her. Dad warned me about that, and of course, I didn't listen. If only I could win her back, things would be okay. Sometimes, I think with my dick too much though and this recent affair with Ada hasn't helped my chances any.“My story worked on you, didn’t it?” I asked, chuckling like my confession was one big joke. I had to do somethin

Everett headed toward the exit, his pace hastened with each step. My heart raced, terrified of what he'd find about Mila and his father. With my shoes slamming on the boardwalk, I awkwardly sprinted after him."Just what do you plan to do about it, rich boy?" I asked, panting. There was a bounce in his agitated steps that made it difficult to keep pace with."Shut up, Ada,” he growled. “I know you sent her away, probably on purpose so you could have me all to yourself." He curled his lip at me in disgust. I scoffed."Oh, please. Don't flatter yourself, you bastard." I waved my hand at him in dismissal. His glare was stern but then his attention was drawn elsewhere to something in the distance. When I followed his gaze, my throat felt tight when I saw who was there. It was Mila with Mr. Williams! As soon as I noticed, I quickly stepped in front, blocking Everett’s view. Though he was ducking his head and craning his neck to see around me, I made sure he wouldn't get a glimpse, fla

  • Bad Mistake [Her Sweetest Mistake]   Chapter 062

Ada POV::Initially, I had a vague pang of regret for not picking Mila up, but after coming home and seeing her with Mr. Williams, I knew it was right not to disturb her last night. Besides, I had a secret of my own that I didn't want to reveal to her.Though I pretended I didn't know about his whereabouts to Mila, Everett had returned last night, after all. He was worried that I would confess about our one-night stand to her so we spent the evening at a bar. It was probably simply to pacify me, but I went with it.Putting aside that he's a jerk and Mila's former fling, I came to realize that we have quite similar tastes in alcohol, music and enjoy playing darts. He loosened up the more we drank, and I tested him to see how competitive he was. His aggression with Mila’s mystery boyfriend made me know he'd not be able to resist."Aw, damn," I said, tossing a dart haphazardly to the board. I sucked my lower lip, overplaying my girlish mannerisms. Everett noticed a chance to dominate
