Emerson POV,

I hit a wall today. I'm burnt out from the long journey. I keep glancing at the top of the stairs because I have a perfect view of it from the couch. But Alpha Loworth. I haven't seen much of him after his interrogation which left me questioning myself. I reassured myself Smith is a far better man.

I look up and find Monaco standing with his stripes on his leg, he looks exhausted. From what? I don't know.

In his left hand, he brings a shopping bag and hands it to me, I don't want to talk about Alpha Loworth so I changed the topic. "What is inside the bag?"

He narrows his eyes and tilts his head. "It's for you. Loworth insists you change into that."

I collect it from the table and stand up my fist clenches and unclenches. Monaco doesn't buy the idea of all of this, he spins around quickly before I even turn to look at him.

Not sure of how to get out of this predicament, I could have gotten defensive and accused something I didn't like, dancing to his tone at the same even

Emerson POV, I turn to face him, my face digging into his chest. His cologne wafts to me, so plush, dark and masculine. My knight in shining armour. I stare at Smith, exuding a different form of confidence.A fleeting smile appears across his mouth and disappears just as quickly as if he remembered what happened, his lips turn up. "I'm sure there aren't many you'd risk this moment for, Emerson is catchy and I want her the more now that you have showed up, old friend."Loworth refuses to return his smile, he swats his hand away from me. "Don't you dare touch her?" He commands.“You look terrible," I say because he doesn’t look terrible. Loworth POV,It wasn’t easy navigating Emerson at all, she’s still stubborn going out of her way and doing shit that leaves my train of thought wondering about nothing other than her.I grabbed my coat and rushed out of the meeting with my damned beta, Monaco. They might think I am crazy or something strange happened and have trailed behind me all along.“I’m glad you guys came through.” I managed to break it out to them. They exchanged what looked more like a confused gaze among themselves. And still nod their head at my heartfelt compliment which they don't find handy.“Is everything alright Alpha?” My Beta came forward with the dumbest question.I grind my teeth hard to keep the treacherous word at the top of my lips from slipping off. Then have them a simple nod.“I will let you know when I do need you but you have to keep the bars in check,” My heart dashed into my throat when I saw Emerson drunk and vulnerable amid the young pack members who had hardly mastered their wolves.“W

Emerson POV, My head was banging as I turned and tossed in the silk bed, the warm masculine scent wafted through the sheets onto my nose and I savoured it before I could open my eyes. I smiled wistfully as I admired the scent while smoothing my hand along the silky bed sheet. With a final turn and contented smile I turned and looked straight ahead of me I covered my mouth with my hand suppressing the squeal that almost escaped from my lips. My heart pounded in my chest when his dark masculine voice attested to my suspicions. “What is going on here, where am I?” I bit my lips nervously although my question was dumb especially now that I was in Alpha Loworth's room and had nothing on but his big T-shirt and with that proud devilish smirk on his lips indicating something happened between us. “I made hung-over tea for you.” He said in a low sultry voice that bounced off. I bite back on the bile shooting down my throat as I feel the scene in my head in a daze for a while. The
