Chapter 91

Watching the car drive out of the gate with his fist clenched tight to his side. Mr Gordon grits his teeth until he feels pain ensuing from his gum.

The eerie winds blow, almost sweeping him off his feet. He turns around and walks back inside the house with guilt that cramps his heart.

“I never mean to let them go. Sending her out wasn't in the plan. I just want to threaten her and forbid her from seeing Andy, why did I let my anger control me?” he sob quietly as he make his way up to the stairs. Climbing with his head down, glaring hard at the smooth tiles.

Tears stream down his eyes, almost blinding his sight. His legs quiver with each step he takes. Mr Gordon stretches out his hand, gripping the rail tightly to support his weight. He funnily finds his body heavy for his legs to carry.

“Melanie!” he shrieks, sliding his grip off the rail. He tries to climb another step on his own but his legs failed him. He twists his ankle and tumbles on the floor.
