Erus' POV

It's a fifteen hours flight and all I want is just to go to bed. Imagine my surprise when I find my young wife sleeping with her head on the dining table.

Naya. I have been thinking about her since the moment that I traveled weeks ago. The last time I saw her was about two weeks ago, after our wedding night.

I don't know who told her that it's a good idea to stay awake around this ungodly hour, but I tell her to go to bed.

I see her face fall, but I don't care. She shouldn't be awake, I know it's because of me, but I don't want that.

“We have taken your stuff up to the room,” my driver, Jeff, says.

“Thank you,” I nod as I go upstairs. I am undoing my cuffs.

The first thing I do when I get into the room is to jump into the shower. The water feels great, I am so glad to be back home for a few days of rest.

I don't check on my mum, because I know that she is going to be asleep by now.

I put on my pajama pants and without a shirt, I go to sleep.
