Naya's POV To hell with Erus and all the fear he has brought to my life. I have decided that he is not going to hold me back. I found a good private school and I enroll my daughter in. “Miss Woods, Jordan is so much wiser than her age!” The headmistress gasps at her perfect exam scores. “What do you think? Maybe we should skip this grade and put her with the older kids, under the gifted kids program...” “No,” I quickly refuse. “Please, just put her in the grade she is supposed to be in.” Yes, Jordan is very smart, but I won't be allowing her to skip any class. She is a kid, and she will be one for as long as she is supposed to be. The headmistress is disappointed in my reply, but she smiles and accepts it. “Jordan Bloodton…” her eyebrows moves together. “That's such a special surname. The Bloodton family is a very special one.” “I don't know them.” I interrupt with a smile. “We aren't from here and Jordan's father, he is from overseas. He is late now and his family's name is
Naya's POV Finally, I moved into my mother's house. Jordan loves the place, she adores her room, which was my old room. It's humble and not as modern as what we came from, but Jordan is a good kid, she loves it. It's emotional for me, but I am happy that I listened to the voice inside my head and stayed back at Moonclaw. The house belongs to my mother. It took her ten painful years, but she was able to pay for it. I'm glad I didn't sell it. It's been three weeks of staying in Moonclaw and I have started to become relaxed here. Seven years ago, if I had mentioned my name, everyone would have known me, but not now. It seems that I disappeared and since Erus is the Alpha, no one questioned my whereabout. Thankfully, he doesn't come back to hospital and I have been enjoying my new job. Being an ER nurse is not for the faint hearted, but I have proven my worth there. This evening, I am driving back from work and I decide to stop the car and grab some supplies from the store. It'
Erus' POV “She said that you should go fuck yourself.” One of my guards says. His face is red with embarrassment. I chug down my glass of wine and lean back against my seat. My young wife, she has changed so much, hasn't she? Years ago, she couldn't even look me in the eyes, but now, she is saying very vulgar things? “Is that all that she said?” I ask, looking at him. “Sir, if it's okay with you, I would like not to repeat what she said because they are even more offensive. If you still insist sir, we can fetch her with force.” “No, don't.” I immediately say. If she doesn't want to come, I will let her be. I know that my family and I have wronged her. I still need to speak to her though, and I am not going to give you so easily. I am going to give her some time, then I will strike again. “That will be all, thank you.” He leaves my house and I immediately start around the pool. She is not a fiction of my imagination, I am very happy with that. Where has she been for seven
Naya's POV Shit. Shit. Shit. I thought that everything was going too well, I was showing him that I wasn't scared of him– even though he's Alpha and runs the whole city– I was doing a very good job by scaring him, but then Jordan came out of nowhere! From the look in his eyes, I know that he knows! She is his! She has his beautiful face and I'm sure here beautiful red hair comes from his side of the family. For a quick minute, it's like everything is frozen. He is staring at Jordan, she is staring back, and there is nothing that I can do about it. “Is…is she mine?” He looks at him, his jaw clenched. “Goodbye, Erus.” I pull Jordan back into the house and try to shut the door. “Mummy, I want McDonalds!” Jordan protests. Gosh, I will get her all the McDonalds in the world, only if she is stupid struggling with me and just get in! “Wait!” Erus sticks out his stand and stops me from closing the door. “She's mine, isn't she?! Tell me the truth, does she belongs to me?!” “Erus, ple
Erus' POV I have a kid. I have a daughter and she is the most beautiful being to have existed on the face of this planet. Setting my eyes on her was the best thing I have ever done. The instant our eyes met, I knew that my life changed. But I couldn't bear to stay there another minute. Naya was too scared of me and I didn't want to be the reason for or daughter to see her in so much pain, so I left. Now I'm sitting in my office, a cigar between my lips and my eyes wandering out of the window. I want to see them again. I want to see Naya and Jordan again, but I don't want to scare them. I want to be in my daughter's life, and I want to make things right with Naya. I haven't told my mother the shocking news. For seven years, we have lived with the thoughts that Naya died, together with my child. How is she going to react when I tell her that her daughter-in-law is alive, and that she is a grandmother too? Brandon rushes into my office with so much force that he is about to trip
Naya's POV I blame myself for ever thinking that Erus would ever make it easy for me. He likes the control over me. I'm sure that he has told his mother and they are just looking for a way to make me fall into their trap again. Well, that's not going to happen. I will use the last of my strength to protect Jordan from the wicked people that are her paternal family. I drive to the hospital and I see the patients already tripping into the hospital. So many things to do and it's just morning. I grab my water bottle and chug some more. I still feel the taste of the alcohol in my mouth. As soon as I enter in, I feet everyone and get ready to jump straight into work. Pat walks out of the rooms, and is taking off her gloves and looks so exhausted. Even with that, she lights up as soon as she sees me. “Well, if it isn't my favourite coworker.” “Hi, Pat.” I smile. She gives me a side hug and goes off to wash her hands clean. “You just got here?” “I sure did. You just got out of a shi
Erus' POV I have to end my meeting very quickly because, according to Brandon, there has been an emergency. Immediately I end the meeting and enter the car, Brandon shows me some very disturbing pictures of a man lying in a hospital bed. “This man was attacked days ago in the forest.” Brandon says. “Why wasn't I informed about it immediately?” “Because they thought that he would get better, but he hasn't.” Brandon says. “In fact, he is getting worse as the days go by.” Brandon licks his lips as he looks into the mirror, I can tell that he has more to say. So I clear my throat and look ahead. “Drive, give us a minute.” “Yes, Alpha.” The driver gets out of the car. Brandon turns to me with haste. “It's a rogue, sir.” “That's impossible,” I grunt. “My father banished all of them before his death, there are no rogues in Moonclaw.” “Maybe, sir, maybe one of them sneaked into the city.” Brandon says. “The wounds are too fatal, and the fact that they refused to heal, I think that
Naya's POV Did he just say he is going to take me home? Who the hell does he think he is? My father? “You don't have to worry about that, I can see myself home.” I take off my gloves. “I am very much capable of taking care of myself.” “And what am I going to do if someone or something snatches you on your way home? What am I going to tell Jordan?” He asks. I stop and stare at me. He doesn't know this, but he is getting on my last nerve. “I’m fine.” I huff. “You won't have to explain anything to Jordan. She is not even going to meet you.” His face takes a stern form. He looks as if I have just threatened his existence. “Come on, let's go.” He points to the door. “Brandon will deliver your car to your house while I drive you.” “I said I can get home on my own!” “I wasn't asking you, Naya.” He tells me. There he is, the bully. He thinks I'm still a teenager, he wants to force me to do what he wants.“I have two more hours to go.” I pick up the tray. “Just leave me alone.” “I w
Erus' POV No, I am not moving in with Jordan and Naya, even though I am giving them this big ass house that used to belong to my mother. I can't believe what she did, and I can't believe that Naya couldn't even tell me the truth. I used to blame her for keeping Jordan from me, but I didn't expect my mother to be the reason. I don't feel bad for sending her to the countryside for the rest of her life. If she wasn't my mother, I would have sentenced her to death for what she did to Jordan and Naya. I'm in my office, Brandon walks in with some files. He quietly bows to me as he drops them in front of him. I know what they are, so I stop what I am doing, and I start to sign the papers. “How did you know about the situation with my mother and Naya?” I ask without looking up. Brandon clears his throat. “Just a few days, sir. I told you as soon as I knew,” The anger boils even more in my chest. “She told you, but she couldn't tell me?!” “I think it's because she was scared of you,
Naya's POV “Please, Erus! You know that I can't survive in the countryside. I belong here, in the city, ruling next to you as Luna. Please, don't do this to me, my son.” She pleads. “You are lucky that I'm not killing you.” He huffs.Brandon walks into the kitchen and bows to Erus, and even the former Luna, who is crying defeated on the ground. This was his doing. I told him that I was scared to tell Erus, but he told me that he was going to take care of it. And he did…“Mrs Bloodton, the vehicle is waiting for you.” Brandon says. I see her heart shatter. She is no longer Luna…“Please, Erus, don't do this to your mother. It's still me, remember how long it took me to give birth to you. I almost lost my life trying to give life to you.” “It's either this, or public humiliation, followed by death.” He tells her coldly. “Either way, it's up to you.” She knows that no matter how hard she cries, he is not going to listen to her. His father trained him well..She stands up to her fee
Naya's POV I have never seen so much confusion and fear on the face of the Luna. How can someone be scared of her son to the extent that she starts to shiver? He hasn't said another word, he is just leaning against the door and watching her with his painfully cold eyes. “I'm still waiting,” he says. “I mean, I have all day.” She laughs nervously and looks at her son. “Erus, you know that I was only joking, I didn't mean any of what I said–” “It's Alpha to you.” He corrects her. “I mean, you of all people should know that, you are my mother.” I have never heard him speak to her in such a tone. If it wasn't obvious before, it is that she is now in alot of trouble. “Alpha, can we go to my room? I promise you that it's not what it sounds like.” “You tried to kill my child and you are telling me that it isn't what it sounds like? Answer me!” He roars to the extent that I feel my own bones rattle with fear. His mother immediately goes down on her knees and shut her eyes. “Erus,
Naya's POV I guess she thinks that she is the winner right now. Shs won, didn't she? I try to take my daughter and flee far away from her, but we are now in the same house that I hate with all of me. We all sit at the dining table and Luna Bloodton has made Jordan sit next to her. She is talking to Jordan about everything, and they are laughing together. I hold my fork too firmly. I can't eat, I can just hold my breath and pray for all of this to be over. Erus doesn't even look at me. He is busy eating his food. Jordan can't cut up the stakes in front of her, so Luna Bloodton tries to help her. “I can't do it, Luna, don't worry.” I say. I pull the plate before she can even change her mind. I feel her eyes on me, but I don't look up. I pull the knife back and forth, pretending that the piece of meat is Luna Bloodton's heart. “But why did you pull it like that?” Luna Bloodton asks. “Huh?” I look up. “Why did you pull back the plate as if I was planning on poisoning my own gr
Naya's POV As soon as I see those stone walls of the Bloodton mansion, my blood runs cold. In the past years, I have only seen this place in my nightmares. Luna Bloodton would tie me up in my pink bedroom, and she would cut me open with a dagger while I scream. She would take a bloody baby Jordan, and throw her out of the window. Those nightmares traumatized me so much, and I knew how long it took for me to get that fear out of me. Coming back here doesn't help me at all. “Is this a palace, Daddy?” Jordan asks with curiosity. “I guess you can say that, my love. This is your family's home.” He answers. I wish he wouldn't say that, but I am not looking to start any kind of trouble with Erus right now. Once he eases the car into the parking space, he turns off the engine. I see the main door of the house, but my feet won't move. “We won't be there for long, so I expect you to be on your best behavior.” He tells me with a small voice. I nod with a dry throat. What else can I do
Erus' POV At eight o'clock sharp, I succeeded in clearing my schedule and I drive myself to Naya's house. Brandon was supposed to send a driver to pick them and take them to my mother's house, but I have decided to do that myself. I haven't been to my mum's in a long time, and maybe we can all be reunited there for the first time in seven years…I can see the light from Jordan's window. I thought that Naya would take her and run away, but that's not the case. She wouldn't even dare, she knows that I can find her, even if she decides to hide in the deepest hole. With a rose in my hand, I walk towards the door and knock on it softly. Naya opens the door. Her hair is made, a red flower dress is what she has on, and some simple sandals. She doesn't have any makeup on. If not for her red dress, one would have thought that she is going for a funeral. We stare at each other for a second without saying a word to each other. “I don't appreciate you doing this. I'm not interested in b
Naya's POV It's like I died and returned in a blink of an eye. Of all the people in the world, Erus wants my daughter to meet with his witch of a mother? How can I allow that? When she was the one who ordered the servants to kill Jordan and I. She hated Jordan from the very moment that she was born, and now he wants Luna Bloodton to see her? Brandon reads the panic in my face and he leans forward slowly. “Miss Naya, you are not saying anything…” “No.” I shake my head. “Jordan won't be seeing anyone, not that heartless Luna Bloodton.” “Please, don't say that.” He sighs.“I don't want to see that woman, you have no idea how horribly she treated me seven years ago. Jordan is not going to see her!” “Please, Naya, listen to me. Not as your husband – I mean, Erus' assistant, but as your friend. If anyone knows Erus well, it's me, and I know without a fact that even if you try to keep Jordan away, he is only going to snatch her from you.” He says. “Please, don't give him a reason to
Nays's POV I can't believe that I am being asked this. This is what I hate and I am going to warn Pat never to ask me something like this. As I turn to her, she already has her hand raised to my face. “Yes, I know it's a weird question, but you're my closest friend here, and you shouldn't feel uncomfortable with me. Plus, I'm a lesbian, if that means anything.” I roll my eyes and sigh. “You are a very weird girl, Pat. I don't even know what to do with you.” I try walking away, but she follows me around like a velcro pet. “Are you living with him? Do you have servants waiting on you like a princess? Oh my God, does this mean that you are going to be the next Luna after Luna Bloodton?!” She gasps and holds her hand over her mouth. “Shut up, Pat, seriously.” I hiss at her. “Someone is going to hear you and we will both be in trouble!” “I, maybe, but you, you are never going to get into trouble again! Did you see the way the Alpha walked in to save you the other day? You practical
Nays's POV I have a very eventful morning, I have to go do some chores, and I also have to get Jordan ready for school, before getting myself ready for work. After I am done, I drive Jordan to school and I keep my eyes wide open and my ears on the ground. Even though the blog post has disappeared from the news, I am still paranoid. When I get to Jordan's school, I don't let her out of the car immediately. I look around, making sure that no one is behaving strangely because they know my secret now. “Mum, I have to go now! I don't want to be late!” Jordan whines. “Okay, Jordan. You can go, but if anything strange happens in school today, you ask your teacher to give me a call, okay?” I tell her, holding her by the shoulders. She smirks like the carefree child that she is. “Something strange like what, mummy?” “I don't know baby, maybe if your classmates start to talk about your Daddy?” “But you told me not to speak about him in school.” She frowns. “Exactly, baby. So, if they
