Naya's POV
He hates me, I can tell. He was staring at his phone the entire time that I was with him and he left after five minutes. But his mother said that he and I were supposed to get personal, we were supposed to get to know each other. We are supposed to be married for goodness sake! My eyes water in the car as I am being driven home. Was it something that I did that has made him mad? Do I call his mother and ask for her to beg her son for me? After a long drive , the car pulls up in front of my house, the door opens immediately and mother steps out with eager eyes. She is going to be horrified when she learns that I did terribly and the Alpha doesn't like me. “Excuse me, miss. The Alpha said to give you this. Consider it as a small token to get yourself something nice.” The driver says. He is handing two bundles of money to me. I don't understand, why is he giving me such a huge amount of money? “What? The Alpha asked you to give this to me?” “Is there a problem, miss? Do you think that it's too small? I can make a call–” “No,no,no, that's not what I'm saying. I've never seen so much money in my life.” I confess. He smirks as he looks at me through the window. “Miss, you are now engaged to the Alpha of this city. I'm sure this will be the smallest amount of money you will be handling for the rest of your life.” He gives me the money and since I'm still in shock, he advises me to put it in a small bag that he gives to me. He opens the door for me and as we walk to my mother, he introduces himself. He is Lance and from today henceforth, he is going to be my personal driver and bodyguard. I like Lance because he is different from the rest of the guys. He smiles, he speaks to me, and he relates to me like we have a lot in common. He is the only good thing that has happened on this long, weird day. My mother pulls me to a hug as soon as I get close enough. I feel her hands shaking as she holds my cheeks and asks if I am okay. I don't know what she was thinking was going to happen to me. I was going to meet with the Alpha, I wasn't going off to fight in some war. Lance bows as he says goodbye and then he leaves. My mother pulls me into the house before the neighbor peeks out of the window to see us. She shuts the door and goes around the house to shut all the windows. “Once you left the house, I started to get this weird feeling.” She murmurs. “What if the Bloodton family deceived me and took you away to torment you so that you could break under pressure and accept the alpha's rejection.” I hold my hand over my mouth as I laugh. “What, mum? That's the craziest thing that I have ever heard.” She doesn't laugh, her face is still with seriousness. She sits down close to me and our knees are touching. “So, how did it go?” She asks. “You spend hours there, so I assume that you people talked about a lot of things.” “We didn't talk about much, mum, in fact most of the time that I spent, I was waiting for him. He came, asked for my name and then gave me this ring.” I raise my hand to show her the giant rock that he has placed on my finger. My mother gasps as she takes my hand, as if it has turned into a divine body part. She stares at the ring with her jaws slightly apart. These are the kind of rings that one sees only on the television. Even the richest people can't afford this. Only the mega billionaire, like Erus Bloodton. “This is very expensive, Naya, I'm even scared to check the Internet. I don't think it's safe to wear it to school. What's going to happen if you misplace it?” “Mum, you are just being paranoid.” I chuckle. “Besides, I now have a bodyguard, remember? I will be fine.” My mother inhales deeply as she stares at my face. It's like she can't believe how drastically our life has changed. She pulls me into a huge, I can hear my fighting the tears. “I'm so proud of you, Naya. You are going to bore the Alpha heir and you will become a Bloodton family member.” “But what about you, mum? What's going to happen to you?” “I will be fine.” She assures me. “You are my main concern and if you are fine, I can take anything.” Tears fill my eyes. I hate when my mother speaks like that. ***** I have to go back to school after a few days of recovering. I wake up very early in the morning and put my uniform on. After I stare at my ring before putting my bag on my back. My mother has made lunch for me, she has put it in a paper bag. When I step out of the house, Lance is waiting for me by the car. He greets me and we are both on our way to school. He fills me up on what to expect. He will give me privacy, he won't be following me around like a hawk, but he will keep his eyes on me at all times. Erus heard about what that girl, Brie, did to me, so he doesn't want that to happen again. I stare out of the window and gaze into nothing. It's strange to know that Erus cares for me in that way. Since he is the one who placed a bounty on my head the first time…. When I get to school, it's strangely empty. I say it's empty because I don't see the rushing in of students trying to get through the doors before eight o'clock. I glance at my wristwatch, am I late already? What's happening? I rush into the school and when I enter the hall, my heart drops to the ground. The entire school is there, gathered in the hallway, tightly packed against each other so that the center was empty. The teachers are there too, smiling friendly at me. They are waiting for me!Naya's POVI hold on to the strap of my school bag very tightly. What's going on here? Why have they all waited for me? “Boys and girls, let's give it up to welcome the fiancée of the Alpha, Naya Woods!” The claps are so loud that my ears are almost exploding. I walk amidst the clap. Trying my best not to trip over my trembling legs. They are all smiling, waving at me as if we have all been cool from day one. The truth is that I've never known peace since I stepped foot in this school. I was a scholarship student, that means that if not for my brain, I wouldn't have had the chance to attend this school. Their expensive school. The rich kids hate me for this. They hated that a peasant like me should be in the same classroom as them, drinking from the same fountain of knowledge. It was unhinging to them because I drank better, I was at the top of the class. So, excuse me if I find their smile a little too ominous for my liking, if I found the friendliness of their eyes too vague.
Naya's POVHearing that Brie Catelle’s family has been thrown out of the pack and the city comes to me as a heavy shock. I don't know what I expected, many people have bullied me and gotten away with it. I didn't expect Brie’s bullying to be the one to suffer consequences. Erus Bloodton is nonchalant, he didn't even look like he liked me, but he is going hard on people that have wronged me. Mister William sees the shock on my face and he waits for me to recover. It takes a while. “But how is that possible?” I murmur. “Brie's father is the head of the biggest bank in the city, they can't just be kicked out like that.” “Miss Naya, I don't think that you understand how important you have gotten. The Alpha, Erus, is really serious about you. And we all have to respect his wishes.” I nod, feeling a dryness in my throat. I think I'm getting dizzy or something. “Thank you, Mister William.” I say. “You are very welcome, ma'am. Please put in a good word for me when you see your fiance,
Naya's POVThat shatters my poor heart! Haven't I had it bad enough?! Why are they trying to take my mother away from me so early?!“That's not right, no I refuse to accept that! I need to talk to someone, Alpha Erus, his mother, I need to talk to someone!” I yell. “Hush, baby, it's okay. You are going to be fine, you are a big girl and can do it on your own.” My mother kisses my cheek. She is hiding her tears from me, she knows that I will have a total breakdown if I see her cry too. She tells me goodbye and Lance is even kind enough to ask another driver to drive her home in a different car. He drives me into the compound and I view the paradise with tears in my eyes. If I was told that I would one day be moving into a place like this, I would have called bluff. Lance drops me right at the door of the house and when he opens the door for me, he gives me a small smile. He helps me take my stuff out of the car, and he rings the doorbell. We wait for about five seconds and a ser
Naya's POVI have never experienced something like this. I am so conscious of my bare body and I have suffered from body dysmorphia and I hate being naked in front of everyone. She doesn't mind that I'm shaking terribly, she keeps her eyes on me and even shakes her head as she amuses herself with the sight of me. “You haven't answered my question, girl. Don't you know that it's rude for you to keep your Luna waiting for your answer?” This is a very personal question and I wish I am in a proper state to answer it. Perhaps we can discuss this at a more proper setting, but she is not giving me that chance. She wants the answer now. “Are you a Virgin, Naya?” “I– I don't know.” I shiver. “What are you? Dumb?” She barks at me. “It's a simple question! Yes or no! Don't waste my damn time!” I shut my eyes, but I can hear my own teeth chattering with fear. Do I have to live with this woman till when? She comes into the shower, my heart is thumping more than ever. She turns on the water
Naya's POVLuna Bloodton is not happy because she wanted to deal with Marcus very well, but I intervened and ruined everything. Her idea of a punishment for me was to invite the family doctor to give me a thorough examination in her office. I was asked to take a bath prior to the doctor's arrival and as soon as the doctor came, I was asked to lay on the table table as my privates were touched and examined. After the most excruciating ten minutes of my life, the doctor is done and declares me to be a virgin. It doesn't change anything for Luna Bloodton, she just shrugs as if she had expected me to be a virgin the whole time. I am ordered to go to my room. Two days, it's been five days since I have moved into the Bloodton mansion and it has been some of the craziest days of my life. I am having different kinds of lessons as Luna Bloodton is trying her best to shape me into a wide for her son. Before he comes back from this trip of his. My legs are shaved. My eyebrows plucked. My
Naya's POVI tear up as soon as I see my mother sitting in front. I have never seen her shoulder so relaxed, I have never seen her eyes so bright. The wrinkle of worry that used to like her face for as long as I could remember is no longer there. She is dressed in a navy blue dress and from the mere shininess of the material, I can tell it's expensive. Just because I am now engaged to Alpha Erus, my mother's life has gotten drastically better. I didn’t reject it. Just for my mother, I am glad that I made that sacrifice. She looks at me and I can see the smile through her eyes. She can't even wave at me and I can't do nothing more than smile at her a little. There are over five guards protecting Luna Bloodton and I. I wish I can stand up and go to give my mother a hug. I love this new life for her. For both of us. After the meeting has started, Luna Bloodton stands up to her feet and everyone does the same too. “Ladies and gentlemen of the Moonclaw pack, The Luna, Lady Bloodton!
Erus’ POVNaya Emily Woods. That's the name that was on the file that my investigator submitted to me. I wanted to know everything about her after I met her at the restaurant. My mother wanted me to speak to her, get to know her better, but I wasn't in the mood that day. I was still pissed off that the old seer pointed at this random girl at my father's funeral meeting and declared that she was my mate. I didn't like that, she was not my type at all. She was in casual jeans that seemed to have lost their color from too much washing. Her shoes were falling apart and I was wondering how she even got in, in the first place. She was pretty, innocent and pretty, but she wasn't my type of girl. I liked the sophisticated city girls that went to top universities and studied mentally exhausting courses. I liked lawyers, doctors, rocket scientists, business women, not a bloody teenager. My mother tried to convince me that she could change her into someone that I would fall in love with, bu
Naya's POVNo?! Did he just say no?! He is not going to allow me to go and hug my mother? What is this? Have I totally sold myself and the life I lived before just because I'm getting married to him?! “Alpha, you don't understand. It's not going to take more than five minutes.” I put my hands together. “Look at her, she's so broken. I just need a little time to tell her that I love her and still think of her. I'm all she has in this world–” “Naya quit acting like a child and don't get the Alpha angry! Your mother will be fine, now wipe your tears!” Luna Bloodton shouts. “There are many conditions to you marrying into this prestigious family and you will obey every one of them!” I look into Alpha Erus’ face. I don't expect him to be as heartless as his mother, I expect him to be more understanding, be more humane to me, but no. Maybe I have forgotten that he is the alpha and this is just a duty to him. This man almost got me killed by placing a bounty on my head! How stupid am I t
I wake up the next morning feeling like a block of cement was dropped on me. My entire body is weak with pain, and I wince as I turn around in the bed. I catch a glimpse of the clock and it sends me rolling and tumbling out of bed. I overslept! Jordan will be late for school, I will be late for work, and this is going to be the worst thing ever for me! “Jordan! Jordan, honey, you are going to be late for school!” I rush to her bedroom, but when I open the door, she is not in her bed! I forgot that she slept with Erus in the living room. I rush down, hoping to find both of them sleeping, but they are not there. I rush to the kitchen, to the other rooms, but she is nowhere to be found. Did someone come in the middle of the night and take my daughter?! The head servant Grace comes in from the quarters. “Good morning, madame, you look so troubled.” “I can't find my child!” I tell her, holding my hand over my head. “I overslept, she is going to be late for school–” “The Alpha too

Naya's POV I found have fall, my heart is still beating from what would have been a fatal fall that would have put me in bed for a few weeks. But he caught me. And he is staring at me with his eyebrows furrowed. “Careful, you almost slipped there.” He murmurs. I stand up straight and push my hair away from my face. “Yeah, thank you for catching me.” “Maybe I should have allowed you to fall.” He says and I'm taken aback. “Maybe that's the only way you would catch a break and allow the servants to do their jobs.” “Ha.” I give a short laugh. It's not a joke, I know that he could have allowed me to fall(he is very capable of doing that), but thank the gods that he didn't. He puts his head back against the sink and I rinse his hair for the final time. I run my fingers through his hair and the glitter is gone. I smile, I am proud of myself. I take a towel and dries his shirt. His jacket is off and his sleeves as been rolled up. I did a great job with keeping his shirt dry. He waits
Naya's POV This is not right, that's the only thing that keeps going through my mind as I watch my stuff get moved into the Bloodton mansion. I refuse to go into Luna Bloodton's bedroom, and I refuse to answer the servants when they ask if there is anything they could do for me. Did he just kick his mother out of the family house because of me?! And gave the house to me?! His father is surely rolling in his grave! I pretend that everything is well at work. Jordan is very happy with the huge house, but not me. How can I be happy? I come back from work and I suddenly cease my breath once I see his car up in the parking space. A servant girl rushes to me bows many times. “Good evening, madame–” “No, you may not have my bag!” I hiss at her. I refuse to open the door until she turns red with embarrassment and leaves. I will never be used to being served by people. I refuse to be used to it! After she has left, I take my bag and go to the front door. I am about to open the door whe
Erus' POV No, I am not moving in with Jordan and Naya, even though I am giving them this big ass house that used to belong to my mother. I can't believe what she did, and I can't believe that Naya couldn't even tell me the truth. I used to blame her for keeping Jordan from me, but I didn't expect my mother to be the reason. I don't feel bad for sending her to the countryside for the rest of her life. If she wasn't my mother, I would have sentenced her to death for what she did to Jordan and Naya. I'm in my office, Brandon walks in with some files. He quietly bows to me as he drops them in front of him. I know what they are, so I stop what I am doing, and I start to sign the papers. “How did you know about the situation with my mother and Naya?” I ask without looking up. Brandon clears his throat. “Just a few days, sir. I told you as soon as I knew,” The anger boils even more in my chest. “She told you, but she couldn't tell me?!” “I think it's because she was scared of you,
Naya's POV “Please, Erus! You know that I can't survive in the countryside. I belong here, in the city, ruling next to you as Luna. Please, don't do this to me, my son.” She pleads. “You are lucky that I'm not killing you.” He huffs.Brandon walks into the kitchen and bows to Erus, and even the former Luna, who is crying defeated on the ground. This was his doing. I told him that I was scared to tell Erus, but he told me that he was going to take care of it. And he did…“Mrs Bloodton, the vehicle is waiting for you.” Brandon says. I see her heart shatter. She is no longer Luna…“Please, Erus, don't do this to your mother. It's still me, remember how long it took me to give birth to you. I almost lost my life trying to give life to you.” “It's either this, or public humiliation, followed by death.” He tells her coldly. “Either way, it's up to you.” She knows that no matter how hard she cries, he is not going to listen to her. His father trained him well..She stands up to her fee
Naya's POV I have never seen so much confusion and fear on the face of the Luna. How can someone be scared of her son to the extent that she starts to shiver? He hasn't said another word, he is just leaning against the door and watching her with his painfully cold eyes. “I'm still waiting,” he says. “I mean, I have all day.” She laughs nervously and looks at her son. “Erus, you know that I was only joking, I didn't mean any of what I said–” “It's Alpha to you.” He corrects her. “I mean, you of all people should know that, you are my mother.” I have never heard him speak to her in such a tone. If it wasn't obvious before, it is that she is now in alot of trouble. “Alpha, can we go to my room? I promise you that it's not what it sounds like.” “You tried to kill my child and you are telling me that it isn't what it sounds like? Answer me!” He roars to the extent that I feel my own bones rattle with fear. His mother immediately goes down on her knees and shut her eyes. “Erus,
Naya's POV I guess she thinks that she is the winner right now. Shs won, didn't she? I try to take my daughter and flee far away from her, but we are now in the same house that I hate with all of me. We all sit at the dining table and Luna Bloodton has made Jordan sit next to her. She is talking to Jordan about everything, and they are laughing together. I hold my fork too firmly. I can't eat, I can just hold my breath and pray for all of this to be over. Erus doesn't even look at me. He is busy eating his food. Jordan can't cut up the stakes in front of her, so Luna Bloodton tries to help her. “I can't do it, Luna, don't worry.” I say. I pull the plate before she can even change her mind. I feel her eyes on me, but I don't look up. I pull the knife back and forth, pretending that the piece of meat is Luna Bloodton's heart. “But why did you pull it like that?” Luna Bloodton asks. “Huh?” I look up. “Why did you pull back the plate as if I was planning on poisoning my own gr
Naya's POV As soon as I see those stone walls of the Bloodton mansion, my blood runs cold. In the past years, I have only seen this place in my nightmares. Luna Bloodton would tie me up in my pink bedroom, and she would cut me open with a dagger while I scream. She would take a bloody baby Jordan, and throw her out of the window. Those nightmares traumatized me so much, and I knew how long it took for me to get that fear out of me. Coming back here doesn't help me at all. “Is this a palace, Daddy?” Jordan asks with curiosity. “I guess you can say that, my love. This is your family's home.” He answers. I wish he wouldn't say that, but I am not looking to start any kind of trouble with Erus right now. Once he eases the car into the parking space, he turns off the engine. I see the main door of the house, but my feet won't move. “We won't be there for long, so I expect you to be on your best behavior.” He tells me with a small voice. I nod with a dry throat. What else can I do
