KAMILA’S POV

It's not fair that only Artemis has the liberty to disregard our bond, treating it as nothing more than an annoying shackle that binds him to me.

It's not fair that he gets to bask in the love of another, feeling the warmth of affection every single day while I loiter in his shadows, like a villain haunting him.

I crave love, too. I yearn to be adored, to be touched as though I'm something other than a mere inconvenience, an annoying pimple on one’s back that doesn’t want to be popped.

I want to be desired, held close, cherished, treated as if I'm too precious to be tainted by the harsh realities of our world.

So, in that moment, I let myself drown in Ace, who isn't my mate. I immerse myself in his touch, his embrace, his kisses, pushing aside all the things that, under different circumstances, should matter immensely.

I let go of every burden, allowing myself to float in this fleeting distraction.

I initiated the kiss, but he deepens it, pulling on my lips with a pas

KAMILA’S POV"I thought you wanted nothing to do with me anymore. I'm the villain in your story, remember?" I say, my voice icy as I glare at him. Yet all I really want is to draw closer to him and reconcile. I long for his embrace, for the closeness we once had, to put all this madness behind us."I can hardly ignore you for so long. You're my mate, after all," he replies with a strained smile. I can tell he's got something heavy on his mind, something that warrants a long-ass conversation. Although it gives me an uneasy feeling, I can't turn him away. I step forward, pulling my door open and stepping aside to let him enter. He takes in my room—the ample space, the canopy bed on one end, the pastel purple walls, and the deep purple rug."It's been ages since I've been in here," he comments casually. I don't say anything, but the sentiment is true. It's been far too long since he deemed me relevant enough to visit my room—a realization I've come to accept while finding solace in

SERAPHINA’S POV“Can you tilt your head a little to the right for me?” Juliet’s words are slightly muffled by the pins held between her lips.I comply, angling my head to the right in this awkward position. Juliet moves in again, pinching the golden fabric taut against my body before securing it with pins.So much has changed since Saturday.Since Artemis and I got together.Olivia mentions that I seem softer now, that my smiles come more easily than when I first arrived at this school. How could they not? Back then, I had to be on guard constantly. The school couldn’t understand or accept why a human like me would be among them. After all, in their eyes, humans are far below them in the grand hierarchy of beings.I had to fight my way through the dirt, made a few friends along the way, and through all the chaos and danger, the dynamic between Artemis and me evolved. Finally, I got acknowledged. Now here I am, in a sort of relationship with the once-spoiled Alpha prince who hunte

SERAPHINA’S POVI can't meet his eyes for some reason, unable to find the right words for this exact moment. I knew that at some point, especially given our current entanglement—or whatever this relationship is—I'd have to tell him. There's no escaping it."How do I say this without sounding like I'm crazy?" I start, meeting his eyes.He watches me cautiously, yet there's an air of understanding. It's as if no matter what I say, he'll accept it as the truth—no questions asked. Taking a deep breath and exhaling, I feel better, more secure, and ready. His calming blue eyes remain my anchor."Something's been wrong with me; it actually got worse the day I found out I'd be attending Raven Wood Academy," I say, pausing to breathe. He nods calmly, absentmindedly rubbing soft circles on the back of my palm."I don't know the right words for it. Sometimes it feels like an out-of-body experience; other times I can't control my actions. My body moves on its own, weird things happen. Sometimes

SERAPHINA’S POVThe following days breeze by too fast, and the inauguration ceremony is finally upon us. The venue is the school's banquet hall—a space I'd forgotten we had—currently transformed to accommodate the entire school body and all the awaiting guests. It's about to begin. I'm about to be officially welcomed into a world I never thought could be within my reach, and in front of a thousand students and some officials, no less. And here I am, in the girls' bathroom, staring at my reflection for more than a few seconds. Nervous. This was supposed to be a potty break, but I can't seem to walk through those doors just yet. I take deep breaths, murmuring affirmations to my reflection. "You deserve this. You've given so much of yourself for this. You will go out there and represent the entirety of the human race. Show them that both races aren't so different than they think."I give myself a few more minutes, pour some water on my hands, and splash it on my face while patting

SERAPHINA’S POVHis aura is just as overwhelmingly powerful as it was during our first meeting, compelling even me—lacking a wolf's natural instincts—to tremble. The entire room falls silent, every soul standing at attention and bowing as he strides down the central aisle. Not one person dares to ignore him, no one is that foolish - not even the high-nosed officials responsible for the ceremony's formalities. They all bow quickly and with a certain desperation. It's déjà vu all over again, much like when he first appeared at the orphanage. He arrived out of nowhere, a mystery without warning—like a tsunami capable of destroying everything in its path. Realizing he's drawing closer, I bow my head, just as everyone else has done.Artemis stands frozen behind me, fists clenched so tightly that they must be digging into his palms, his entire body quivering. I've never seen him this affected by anything or anyone. He's always been confident, almost to the point of cockiness, never b

SERAPHINA’S POVI'm reluctant to let him go with Jasper, especially just seconds after finding out how profoundly his father affects him. His hands are still shaking as he slides them out of mine and kisses my forehead. He casts one last look my way before walking off with Jasper. I watch them until they're out of sight, leaving me standing alone in the hallway again.A lot of things aren't adding up, and now that I know his sudden visit definitely can't be because of me, I feel skeptical about everything. A subtle feeling that things are about to take a turn settles over me as I walk away. Two steps in, and the feeling of dread only worsens.I hear other footsteps drawing closer, accompanied by the obnoxious giggle of what could possibly be a group of girls approaching. I'm curious; everyone else should be in the hall right now, worshiping the sight of their glorious Alpha or at least engulfed in their precious ceremony. No one else should have left the hall either.I wait, hear

SERAPHINA’S POVI'm speechless for a few seconds, my eyes flitting between Lucian's scowl and his folded hands. Never mind my shadow, which just fucking moved on its own. No, I'm laser-focused on the guy who seemingly materialized from nowhere to save me from what could have been a nasty concussion or worse, courtesy of my long-time bullies.I'm not the only one silenced. The girls are, too, clearly tense that they've been caught in the act for the first time in a decade. And they're staring at Lucian like he's a god, their not-so-subtle lust written all over their faces. Can't blame them, really. His beauty is practically unnatural.Even I had never really seen drop-dead gorgeous guys until I got here, with tall, ridiculously attractive werewolf teens parading around. Now I'm almost immune to it—almost. Artemis is the exception. I could lose myself staring at him, and every time I look away and then back, I feel like I'm about to melt. He's magnetic like that. ARTEMIS’ POVI closely follow Jasper to wherever my father has summoned me, a sense of dread accompanying each step. With every move, I question why he's here, trying to decipher any possible reason for his sudden appearance—as if the answer will suddenly reveal itself. I have a hunch, though. In fact, it’s the most likely reason.Just days ago, after becoming involved with Sera and convincing Kamila to give up, I sent my father a letter. It showed the depth of my commitment to severing the bond with Kamila. Brief and vague, yes, but clear upon a second reading. Yet, I never actually expected him to read it. After years of sending unacknowledged notes letters, it's surprising he chose now to engage. How unfortunate.I regret informing him, especially given his strange interest in my relationship with Kamila—an interest that far outweighs his desire for strong relations with the Wildhearts. They are, after all, among the world's most strategic and brutal packs, but an alliance isn

SERAPHINA’S POVThe doors to the throne room on the west side of the castle finally pull open, revealing Artemis and me to the entire congregation gathered to celebrate our crowning and witness the beginning of a new era of peace. Our hands are intertwined, our traditional garments matching, with long flowing capes that trail a few feet behind us. A wave of anxiety and excitement hits all at once, but I know I’m not alone. Never again. The congregation stands, applauding endlessly as we walk down the aisle, side by side, hand in hand, waving at all of them. I spot Olivia and Jasper, hand in hand, seeing them for the first time in three years, waving harder and growing excited to tell them all about my tales. Ace and Gabe sit in the next row, clapping along with the crowd, smiles on their faces as well. Of course, Alice is nowhere to be seen. It’s been years, and she has never shown her face to me again.Olivia had said that she moved to a different country, one that’s far a

ARTEMIS’ POV ( 3YEARS LATER)I'm completely stacked with work, towers of paperwork almost reaching the ceilings for the changes I've tried desperately to implement for the past four years since becoming the Alpha King. Laws newly implemented seem to have more backlash than initially anticipated, yet I’m committed to see them to the end, all to make some time for the coming weekend. A knock echoes from my door before Jasper walks in, still rocking that god-awful goatee Olivia hasn't succeeded in getting him to chop off. "Beta reporting for duty, Your Majesty," he bows. "Any news from the delegation you sent out to the human population?" He now turns serious once he sees all the papers.I instantly appreciate the new version of him that's capable of taking things seriously while still retaining his joyful side. I've tried to continue my father's works, improving the mission to unite all races as one to prevent things like war from ever happening again, to form a union o

  • BULLIED BY THE ALPHA PRINCE   CHAPTER 228: A TIME TO HEAL

ARTEMIS’ POVWeeks pass since Sera’s eyes open, and like a sick twist of fate, I find myself unable to see her as much now, with doctors being around her and more work piling on my desk. Yet, I remind myself to be patient while she gets the treatment and therapy she needs. The times I do stay by her side, I hold her in my arms, slowly filling her in on everything she’s missed in the past year. Her greatest hurdle with everything is accepting how much time has passed, how long she’s been unconscious, the time she’s lost. Processing it has not been easy and simply adds to her stress. Thankfully, Olivia stayed back for a few weeks to help her readjust to it all while I’m away and has only just left a few days ago.Tonight, as always, I’m in my office completely swamped with work, trying to achieve most of what I planned to do before Sera is completely better and on her feet again. Because I want to show her the world and more, and before I can get anywhere, I have to fix it.

ARTEMIS’ POV(ONE YEAR LATER)"In light of all the allegations brought forth, not only by students but also by teachers, I hereby strip you of your position as school Administrator," I declare before the newly appointed school board gathered before me. The now former Administrator, Mr. Andrew, stares at me with wet, red eyes on the brink of breaking into tears. He trembles, looking at me with pleading eyes for mercy, but I feel nothing close to remorse, especially with proof of years of his embezzlement sitting right in front of me on my desk. The fact that he also played a huge part in the school's segregation alone tempts me to strangle him with my bare hands every time I remember what Seraphina had to go through - but then, even I had a hand in this.My eyes shift to the other man in his late thirties standing on the other side of the room among the council, nodding in his direction. "In replacement, I appoint Mr. Jermaine for the new position of school Administrator."

ACE’S POVAs the doctor announces the outcomes of the surgery, I slowly detach from the group, watching their faces light up for only a moment before something even darker takes over. But I don’t stay long. I don’t dare stay with them in their moments of grief or offer words of encouragement, not when I haven’t been there for everything they’ve had to face. I don’t deserve to sit in their presence of lament with any of them, not especially Artemis or Jasper. I was a shitty friend, I probably still am. I haven’t gotten over my jealousy or my issues. I couldn’t be there for them even if I wanted to, but I at least wanted to show up and apologize, at least to Sera, for everything I did. I wish I could do more, be better. Perhaps in the future, when so much isn’t happening, perhaps one day I could have the courage to face each of them and apologize properly.I walk to a corner, resting against the wall, wanting to be alone before I read the letter from Kamila. She’s neve

ARTEMIS’ POVI grab her before her body can hit the ground, pressing down on her neck that gushes more blood than I can bear to see. “Sera!” I yell her name, my voice laden with begging and pleading for her to wake up, to look at me, to say something—anything at all. Even if it means her hating me for forcing her into this situation, for not being strong enough, I would gladly take it; she need only say anything. The blood doesn’t stop, and she doesn’t move either; her eyes remain unfocused, staring at nothing without the usual glint of light in them. “Sera, please…” I break into a sob, holding her against me, pressing my cheek against her forehead as a wave of agony overwhelms me. She can’t leave me. I won’t let her."Moon Goddess!" I scream, my voice reaching the sky with tears in my eyes, Sera clutched tightly in my arms. Rage burns like fire in my blood. "You said you chose me to make a difference, you said you wanted the circle to end. None of it would make any s

  • BULLIED BY THE ALPHA PRINCE   CHAPTER 224: I LOVE YOU

SERAPHINA’S POVHer hands stretch out, and numerous black hands spring forth from the shadows of everyone else, every person that still remains on the school premises, grabbing onto whomever it comes from and pinning them to the ground, myself included. "I only spared you for a moment because you meant something to her, but if you force my hand, I will find joy in crushing you with my bare hands," she seethes, trembling with anger. The shadow holding me down doubles in pressure, and I feel a few of my ribs breaking under it. It’s only a matter of time before she kills me along with everyone else here, and if she does that, there would be no one else to stop her."Sera, don't!" the scream of a female voice pulls both our attention to the far left. It's Olivia, tied down by her own shadow, trembling and in tears, next to an equally captured Jasper... I thought they had escaped. "Don’t do this, Sera. This isn’t you." Her surprise turns into disgust while facing Olivia now.

ARTEMIS’ POVI'm violently shaken awake by someone, and my eyes open, staring at the gruff, manly face looking down at me with concern—a face I recognize as one of the soldiers on my side. "Your majesty," he cries the second my eyes are open, giving me enough space to sit up. I feel as though I've only woken up from a deep, restful sleep, my body relaxed and fully energized once more, which is confusing for an entity claiming to save me for last after wiping an entire race out.I look around the room, everything being the same aside from Sera’s presence. She’s really gone. I look at the large hole in the wall, at the sky that suddenly seems like a darker red shade with clouds hanging around. It really does look like the end of the world. "Report," I say to the soldier, getting to my feet again. "The witch..." He begins, pausing the second I cast a deathly glare his way. "...I mean the princess managed to change the color of the sky as soon as she left the building, casti

SERAPHINA’S POVI blink my eyes for only a second, and suddenly I'm in a garden with the sun setting, showing that half the day has passed. Half the day just breezed past me without being present, almost as if I’m running through today. I'm startled for a second, not remembering coming here at all. I could have sworn that I was back in the hall accepting my new title just a second ago. Yet, I'm sitting on a bench holding the book in my hands, its skin feeling and looking awfully familiar, as if I’ve had it long before now.“How does it feel being Queen now?” A voice cuts through my train of thought from behind me. I pause and look around, meeting my mother walking towards me in her always slowly paced walks. I’d never seen her run, even in times of distress and emergency, and always wished I could be half as regal and calm as she is. “Mother,” I say, standing to my feet and hugging her for a while. Somehow calling her my mother leaves a feeling of yearning in my heart, des
