Stormee POV

Ralph finished his training, and I picked him up. The other guys were around, and they insisted I must join them to go to a club. It was definitely not my social setting, but neither the cafeteria, and I passed by like a hurricane. What can go wrong in a crowded place full of horny youngsters inebriated?

“Aren't you going to Gabby's party?” I lifted my eyebrows at Ralph,

“No, after the way she treated you…” He sighed, “Gabby and I are over and done,” he sighed, “She was a good fuck, but that was about it…”

“Geesh, thanks for sacrificing your sexual life for your sister…” I mocked him and he laughed,

“Family comes first, doesn't it?” He said back, warming my heart.

“Mom and Dad would have been proud of you," I joked and he rolled his eyes.

"So, about the club… Should I tell them you are in?” He wiggled his eyebrows, “Live a little!” He pressed,

I took a deep breath and slowly nodded. “Only if I am not going to be the only girl around you guys…” I sighed and he nodded.

“Perry will bring his girlfriend, and I am sure Enzo will have a hook-up hanging out of his arm in no less than five minutes…” He chuckled, and I rolled my eyes. Yeah, I was a late bloomer all in all, and I was coming late to the popular kids' party.

“I am afraid, brother, I have nothing appropriate to wear…” I sighed and he chuckled.

“Then turn around and let's go shopping… We will get rid of all that preppy clothes, and you will wear something that makes you look hot…” He laughed and I rolled my eyes.

“Trying to make me look hot is like freezing the ocean… Impossible!” I blurted and he scrunched his eyebrows…

“My dear sister, I am an expert at making impossible things happen…” He assured me, and with that, he made me a detour to the shopping mall.

After trying an embarrassing amount of clothes, and having to model them for my twin brother, we managed to find a little black strapless dress. I hated showing skin, and some of the skimpy outfits Ralph had handed me were completely indecent… so this one was a middle ground, sort of.

“Alright, sister… let's get you a new haircut…” He said and I rolled my eyes. What was wrong with my hair? I know a bit of split ends have never hurt anyone… I took a deep breath and played along. I haven't had this much fun with my brother in a long time. At least, not without Ezo lurking around.

“So, where is Enz?” I asked Ralph, and he chuckled,

“Hooking up with someone…” I scratched my nose. I honestly didn't need to know when my cousin was getting hot and heavy.

“I don't need to know!” I muttered and he laughed,

“I am picking you up in an hour,” he said, opening the door for me to a Hair and nail salon. I bit my lower lip and nodded.

An hour later, the girl staring back at me was a stranger. My hair was chopped and layered to give it shine and volume. The cut accentuated my features and the new length up to my shoulder was very flattering to my features. They blow it dry and let it open in soft waves. I felt as if I had removed a ton of years out of me, and I had been sophisticated overnight. Why haven't I done something like this? It was beyond my comprehension.

Ralph picked me up, and he praised the lady that changed my appearance. He had her blushing furiously within the first thirty seconds of conversion. He is such a charmer, and from the looks of my father, he is a chick-magnet.

“Alright, let's go.” He said and I nodded.

“So, are you feeling any different? Tomorrow we turn 18…” He said excitedly, and a shiver ran up and down my spine. Eighteen years old was the age we could meet our mates. It was an exciting moment, for most… but for me, it was terrifying. I have always kept to myself, and that made me completely inexperienced in any kind of intimacy. I haven't even been kissed… less mating and marking. What if I disappoint my mate?

“Stop worrying. And enjoy the ride!” He said and I nodded. It was a reassurance to have my confident brother every step of the way.

Mom and Dad were busy, so Ralph and I had a quick sandwich for dinner and went to our rooms to prepare for the night. Ralph took a shower and dressed in comfy jeans and a black t-shirt. I, on the other hand, even when I had my hair already styled, I had to wear make-up, jewelry, my special strapless underwear, my new dress and high heels. So unfair for the rest of the population, while boys look hot in whatever we need to overproduce ourselves.

“Damn, who are you and what did you do to my cuz?” Enzo said while I walked down the stairs to meet them in the lobby.

“Shut up!” I slapped him, and he laughed,

“We will have to take turns looking after you…” Ralph said and I blushed.

“Come on, Stor…” He sighed, “We will spend our first hours of adulthood misbehaving…” He chuckled and I laughed. He might be misbehaving. I don't think I will…

As soon as we stood in front of the club's door, the bouncer opened a red rope and let us in. Ralph led the way, while Enzo walked behind me. The place was overcrowded, and to not get lost we were holding each other's hands. We made our way to another place, up the stairs, and a guy opened a second rope.

Up there in a VIP section, Perry, Trevor, Jack and Billy were waiting for us. “Hey, Stormee! Great, you made it!” Billy waved at me, then Perry yelled above the loud music,

“Stor, this is my girlfriend, Meghan…” He said, and I smiled at the blonde woman hanging on his arm.

“Hi…” I extended my hand and Meghan shook it,

“I love your dress…” She pointed out, and I nodded,

“And I love your shoes!” I replied and, suddenly, after that brief conversation, we were best friends forever. It was weird but fun at the same time.

Drinks flew around. Ralph and Enzo kept making shots, while I skipped several of those and settled for sparkling water, trying to pass it for alcohol. “You are cheating… Have a drink!” Ralph passed me a glass of something gooey and black…

“Jagger!” they yelled and lifted the gooey shit and drank it…

“You have to drink it up, sister…” Ralph pressed and as soon as the black liquid entered me my insides were on fire.

“What was that?” I slurred and he laughed.

“It is the werewolf version of a human drink… This drink is a mean fucker…” He slurred back and I rolled my eyes.

“I am going to be sick…” I said and, stumbling around, made my way to the bathroom.

“Great tomorrow for my party, I am going to look like shit…” I muttered and barely made it to the toilet bow before everything I ate and drank made its way up and out of my body.

Shit, I am not doing so great. After vomiting everything within me, I made my way to the bar and ordered a bottle of water. I gulped it down, when an enticing man stood next to me. “Careful, if you are sick, that water will come back up,” he chuckled, and I nodded, like a little puppy.

“Small sips…” The tall man instructed, and I bit my lower lip.

He was tall, with silver hair, short, but he could also have looked hot and sexy with long hair. His pointy ears meant he was not a werewolf, he was something else, and an elf, perhaps?

Yes, he was an elf, because when his eyes locked with mine, these irises danced in a multicolored symphony.

It was not midnight yet, but I gasped, and he closed the distance… His eyes locked with mine, my knees caved and my lips parted.

“Who are you?” I muttered, not understanding why my body was reacting this way.

“Aelfred,” he said, and I bit my lips.

He slowly licked his lips, and suddenly he kissed me deeply. The feeling was otherworldly, his lips danced along mine, my hands intertwined around his neck, and I wanted more. So much more.

Was I too drunk to know right from wrong? Or have I been enchanted by this man? The answer was a bit of both. We parted ways to take a much-needed breath. My chest heaved, and his eyes danced around my body.

He took a deep breath and pressed his forehead to mine… “Happy Birthday, Storm…” He sighed, and then he took a step back.

“Where are you going?” I blurted… I wanted more; I wanted everything.

“It is not time yet…” He gave me a court nod and turned around. I was left there standing, dumbfounded, confused, and yearning for the man that I only knew his name, Aelfred.

Stormee POVI didn´t want to wait to have a real conversation with my mother, so after talking with Trevor, I decided to dial my mother´s number.“Hey, Sweetie…” Mom picked up, and I sighed,“Mom, I need to know…” I bit my lower lip and heard my mom sigh on the other side of the line.“Do you want to switch to a video call?” she asked, and I turned the camera on and switched the call to a video call. Mom was calm on the other side, and I closed my eyes. I needed to know because not knowing was driving me crazy.“What do you want to know, Sweetie?” Mom said, and I bit my lower lip. I wondered if, by looking into my face, she could use her power remotely to read my thoughts and feelings.“Well, Dad told us that you already know who our mates are and that you settled ground rules to allow us to grow as normal kids…” I paused, and my mom nodded.“So, who the fuck is my mate? I already knew that. When I was in high school and had the knack of spending all my free time in the library, I ran into a fascinating book about elves. I couldn´t put it aside, so I read it in one go, and then I was so interested in their way that I read every book on their species available to me.“Yes, the time in the Elf kingdom flows differently than the time in the other realms… at a ratio of 100 to 1,” I recited, and he lifted his eyes, now understanding that I was not being judgmental but curious.“So, how old are you in human years?” I lifted my eyebrows, and he chuckled.“I am close to 38 years old, by human standards.” He confessed, and I bit my lower lip.“So you met my mother when sh

He and Vamir discussed each leading position's task and the possible profile we must search for."Al, I wanted to hand you the screened candidates for the two positions we must fill. They are separated by gender because I need my Female Delta and Gamma." I informed him."Do you need my input for the female positions?" he asked, and I nodded. We were working together, and it was so rewarding knowing that my mate trusted me with serious matters of the kingdom."Yeah, but after the first interview. Our realm depends on it; it is a large part of the income the royal family provides to improve everyone's lives. She gave me some food for thought. We elves are proud creatures; somehow, my father's lack of teaching and the way I was taught to rule made me feel I didn't need anyone else to help me. I believed myself to be infallible and that only Vamir's help was needed, but in reality, she suggests that we even have what they call a Gamma, a Delta, or an extra Beta. She believes that we need so much more. Now that I see the bigger picture, she is right: I need help. I can't be everywhere, training our militia

Vamir suddenly stretched. "I am starving. Should I get something to eat? Or are we resuming tomorrow?" He asked, and I looked at the time—it was close to eleven at night."I think we should resume tomorrow..." I sighed, rubbing my neck while Al began tenderly massaging it."Sarula, can you be ready tomorrow to leave as soon as we figure out a plan to audit the company? I need to see the installations, and we need a couple of extra hands to help us take account and secure a proper inventory." Sarula asked,"Call him, and let's allow him to explain this discrepancy..." My Little Flower said with determination.I softly knocked on the ajar door, and she lifted her gaze. What once was an orderly place is now a war zone. Paper was scattered around, reports upon reports, her laptop was on the floor, and spreadsheets were open. "What is going on?"
