CHAPTER 22

Only took Maximiliano Bastidas five minutes to get down and approach the awning. However, after briefly greeting those present, he excused himself so that he could leave for a few minutes; to take care of something urgent before the ceremony.

He walked to the opposite end of the courtyard, specifically the guardhouse, looking for B.J., whom he found polishing the van assigned to him.

The bodyguard straightened his massive frame, nodding at the presence of his boss.

"Sir?"

"B.J., can I talk to you?"

The agent nodded.

"Of course."

"Is it safe here?" Max looked around.

"Yes, sir."

"Good." He approached him, creating a kind of confidence that would keep curious onlookers away from what he would say next. "Carla told me that she asked you to be a witness at the wedding, but it won't be necessary."

"Yes, sir, I understand."

"No, you still don't understand. You must not comply with such a command."

B.J. nodded like a trained military man, alert to those words.
