Maximus POV

As the night wore on, I knew I couldn't leave her fragile form sleeping on the floor, she'll catch a cold there. Carefully, I picked up her sleeping form and cradled her in my arms. She stirred slightly but didn't wake up as I gently laid her on the bed, tucking the blankets around her. She looked so vulnerable in her sleep, and I couldn't help but wonder what challenges lay ahead for us. If life could throw loosing our child at us, what else did it have in storel for us.

But for now, I simply watched her, the soft moonlight bathing her, just as it had when we returned to the pack's territory. I knew that our journey was far from over, that we would face many trials and tribulations.
