" What?" I asked in disbelief and shock.
" We are going to Marigolds tomorrow" He repeated and I felt life go out of me like I wasn't in reality any longer. If this was a dream, then I never wanted to wake up any longer.
" But to do what?" I turned to him to ask, confused.
" To buy and get you good dresses of course. What else would we go there for?" He asked in annoyance to my question.
Marigold was the best fashion boutique in this town. It holds glamorous dresses of different designs and patterns. Dresses I have can only dream of wearing in my dreams. Marigold's dresses were not only the best but also freaking expensive and I couldn't afford to get one on my body but now My step dad is telling me we are going into that Mall to get me one of my dream dresses? I squealed in excitement inside but then suspicion began to arise in him.
' Where is he getting all this money from and besides why is he spending it on me?' I wondered. I mean the step father I know was a stingy and uncontended Wolf. Not only would he keep his profit for himself but he would also take my mine to add to his. This was truly suspicious but my main concern is I want to know why he is getting me a dress so I summoned up the courage and asked him.
" Why?" I muttered.
" Why what?" He asked and I signed before speaking up loudly.
" Why are you getting me a dress?" I answered with curiosity.
" Well all your dresses are old, torn and patched and I am sure you would love to get rid of them into another" He replied and I gave him a look of disbelief. Why would he care about such? He saw my look on him and signed before giving in.
" Alright, fine. We are having important guests who are coming down here tomorrow" He said and I raised my eyebrows. What important guests? I looked towards him to ask who they were but saw the look of his face daring me not to and I gulped at the dangerous glare in his eyes before looking away timidly.
" But our house is too old and unclean for you to have come into, why don't you just rent a parlor or something?" I suggested timidly sincerely hoping he wouldn't hit me but he just grinned instead.
" Oh don't you worry about that?" He replied with a scary smile. I call it scary because I still haven't gotten used to the smile he was now always putting on. I nodded and moved to stand up since there was nothing else to discuss but as I was about picking the dishes again. He stopped me this time holding my wrist and I turned to him alarmed. What does he want again?
" You don't need to do the dishes again besides from tomorrow your life would be completely changed" He said and I looked at him strangely. What was he talking about and what did he mean?
" I don't get you" I told him in confusion and I saw regret flash across his face like he said something he shouldn't have but the expression came as quickly as it left. When he saw me still furrowing my brows at him in confusion. He laughed nervously before replying.
" I mean you don't really need to do the dishes again since I already hired maids to work around here and they will start tomorrow".
" Oh"I muttered in understanding.
" But why do you need to hire maids, nothing is wrong with my hand and I can still help out with the house as usual" I explained but he just smiled.
" I appreciate your kind and warm heart Dehlia" He called. " But you have suffered enough,we all have so you don't think since there is money now, it's time to enjoy ourselves. Besides your Mum's last wish to me was that I should take care of you and treat you like a queen. I am just respecting her wishes" He explained and I blinked back my tears.
" Thank you so much" I was touched by his words and the fact he still remembered my mum. How wrong I was.
" It's nothing my dear compared to what you have done for me" He replied with a sly smile and I felt goosebumps cover my entire body.
" If you still feel like doing the dishes tonight, help yourself" he said and I nodded. " But that stops tomorrow" He added and I nodded instantly again before he went towards the room and I did a happy dance around as I did the dishes before going to bed.
Early the next morning,I woke up to find the whole house sparkling clean and neat. I was gobsmacked. Our old broken doors and cupboards had all been replaced with brand new ones. The walls were being painted recently. I greeted the workers amused by what I was seeing.
" Good morning to you too" I heard my stepfather's voice behind me and I turned to see his creepy smile still plastered on his face. I smiled nervously as I responded to his greeting.
" Sorry to startle you will all these" He said gesturing to the repaired items. " I hired them before I came home last night to help repair and clean the house before we woke up" He added and I nodded understandingly. It was probably because of his important guests. Now I couldn't help but wonder who they are.
" Please get ready in the next 10 minutes. We will be leaving for Marigolds by then" He said and drafted to his room leaving me there alone blinking and trying to register his words before I also dashed into the room to get prepared.
We were now standing In Front of Marigolds boutique and I couldn't be more excited to waltz in. I think step dad noticed my mood for he whispered as the security guard opened the gigantic glass door for us to enter. " Be on your best behavior and don't embarrass me. '' I nodded, not caring about how heavy his words were. I was just too excited. The inside of Marigolds was as beautiful and glamorous as I had always imagined it to be. I stifled a giggle and just plastered a huge smile on my face. I saw some very important people trying out new beautiful outfits, some of them even sneered at us as we entered because of our rough old outfits, probably wondering what we were doing here and thinking we don't belong here.I felt my mood go down instantly at such a thought but brighten up instantly as a nice looking girl came to take our order." Please I would love a dress for my daughter here"My step dad requested, gesturing to me and she smiled brightly displaying her white classic tee
"What was my step dad saying, " Who should they have?" I wondered. Suddenly I felt arms grab me on my shoulders and I turned to look at who it was in alarm only to see the royal guards from the palace. What were they doing here and why were they holding me? I knew it was them because of the royal crest on their uniforms.I struggled to free myself from them but they were way too strong. I turned to look at my step dad who was still smirking and yelled." What is going on? Tell them to let me go" but the guy with blond hair just laughed. " We can't let you go sweetie," He said, licking his lips. " You are already out property now or at least his' ' He added and I scrunch my eyebrows up in confusion. Who was he talking about?" She doesn't know?" The guy with the long black hair asked coldly and I was stunned to see my step father shivering." Know what?" I asked quietly and the guy with the long black hair just cast his cold gaze at me for a few seconds before taking it away to my
Soft yet overpowering footsteps reverberated in the room. My heart skipped a beat as he stepped out of the dark and gods! I couldn't stop staring. I didn't even realize that my jaw had dropped until Sapphire growled. "Mate."A static buzz clouded my senses and the world became a whirlwind around me. He held my gaze. The magnetic pull I was feeling towards him made it impossible to tear my eyes from him. He was just too breathtaking. One may call him a dream or an illusion. Wait! Was I dreaming? He fixed his piercing ocean blue eyes on me. Those eyes sparkled with a glint of wild fire casting fierce heat into my entire being. I hadn't seen a lot of attractive men in my life but this man was hypnotizing me just by staring at me.
"You have to make sure nothing like that ever gets injected into her body." "I didn't expect Leon to give her an overdose. He did say that she went completely insane on her step father.""You should take care of her, Maximus," Those voices sounded clear. It was the doctor and Maximus. They sounded rather close than I expected but then again, he was a doctor. It was obvious that he was a royal doctor.I opened my eyes, sighing with content. My stomach... It really felt great that I felt no pain.
"How much do you know about the Alpha king?" I asked them with wide-eyed curiosity. I mentally slapped myself for asking that but still.. I didn't regret asking. They looked rather hesitant and sent glances to themselves.I sighed, not wanting to force them to answer my questions. "You two can leave, I am feeling sleepy." As I spoke, I laid on the bed, wrapping the thick black blanket around my body."Yes milady." Frieda and Tia said in unison, stared at each other nervously before walking out of the room.
A hint of a smile tugged at the corners of his lips, a glimmer of relief in his eyes. It was as if we had crossed a threshold, stepping into the uncharted territory of honesty and vulnerability. In that moment, the walls that separated us crumbled, allowing the raw essence of our connection to flow freely. As we stood there, facing the truth that bound us, I couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen next but he leaned forward and kissed me.Maximus, with a newfound tenderness, closed the distance between us and gently cupped my face in his hands. Our eyes locked, the intensity of our gazes speaking volumes. And then, without hesitation, he leaned forward, his lips meeting mine in a passionate union that ignited a fire within. The kiss was a symphony of desire, a whirlwind of emotions unleashed. It was better than the first. Our lips moved in perfect harmony, exploring, an
It was as if the universe itself conspired to bring us together, intertwining our destinies in a way we could never have foreseen. But as the heat of passion subsided, a sense of urgency settled upon me. I was bound by a deeper purpose, a purpose that demanded more than fleeting moments of pleasure. The weight of my burdens bore down upon me, reminding me of the challenges I faced.I was a breeder and nothing more. It hurts my chest but what can I do about it?For me, it was the knowledge that my freedom hinged on bearing him a son, a son who would secure my release from the confines of this life.I like the Alpha King and I am scared that after giving him his child, I would have to leave? But fate had other plans in store. The alpha king, the man who held the key to my liberation, turned out to be my mate, a bond he remained oblivious to.
Taking hold of my trembling hands, Maximus led me towards the grand dining hall. It was a silent invitation, a subtle gesture that spoke of his intention to make amends. As we walked together, the weight of our unspoken conversations hung heavily in the air.The atmosphere grew tense as Isabella sauntered into the room, her eyes fixated on Maximus. Her presence alone seemed to stir a storm of emotions within the walls of the grand dining hall.Whispers traveled through the air, anticipation building as everyone watched the unfolding scene.Isabella approached our table with a seductive smile, her voice dripping with venom as she addressed Maximus. "Well, It's the Alpha King and his breeder. How cute."Maximus remained calm, his eyes focused on his plate, refusing to engage in Isabella's game.He took a sip of his drink before finally speaking, his voice laced
For months, I drifted in and out of consciousness, aware of the world around me only in fleeting moments. The battle against Marcus and his evil forces had taken a toll on my body, and it was only through the moon Goddess's divine intervention that I had been brought back from the brink of death. As I slowly regained full consciousness, my senses were overwhelmed by a mixture of sensations and memories. The cries of battle still echoed in my mind, a haunting reminder of the fierce struggle we had endured. My body felt heavy and sluggish, as if I had been in a deep slumber for an eternity. The room around me was bathed in soft, diffused light, and the scent of healing herbs filled the air. I turned my head slightly and saw Max sitting by my bedside, his eyes filled with relief as he watched me awaken."Lia," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion. "You're awake."I managed a weak smile, my throat
Max POVAs the battle raged on, the forest itself seemed to be an extension of Marcus's dark will, and the twisted trees continued their relentless assault. Each strike from their gnarled branches sent shockwaves of pain through our bodies, but we refused to yield.Lia's golden eyes blazed with a fierce determination as she fought back against the malevolent energy that had consumed the forest. Her connection to nature was her greatest weapon, and with each powerful counterattack, she pushed the darkness back.I watched Lia in awe, her strength and resilience inspiring me to keep going. She was the love of my life, the mother of our children, and I would do anything to protect her and our family. With each strike from the twisted trees, I felt the pain and exhaustion weighing on my body, but I couldn't afford to falter. The lives of our pack members and the fate of the world depended on our success.&
Amidst the chaos of the battle that raged below, I struggled against Marcus's dark magic, my body suspended in the air. The pain in my cracked arm was excruciating, but I refused to give in to his taunts and threats. My determination burned brighter than ever, and I knew that I couldn't let him break me.As Marcus continued to exert his control over me, I focused on a sliver of my remaining strength. With sheer willpower, I began to push back against his magic, fighting to regain control of my body. It was a fierce mental battle, and beads of sweat formed on my brow as I concentrated with all my might. With a sudden surge of power, I managed to break free from Marcus's grip. I dropped to the ground, gasping for breath and clutching my injured arm. It throbbed with pain, but the sense of freedom and defiance fueled my determination.I locked eyes with Marcus, my gaze unwavering. "I'll never join you," I declared, my voice
In that chilling moment, as Marcus revelled in his sinister victory, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of despair. I had hoped that my defiance would somehow save me and protect my family, but now, I found myself trapped in a nightmare of Marcus's making. My mind raced with thoughts of Max and Leo, the ones I loved and who depended on me. The gruesome sight of the fallen pack members and Elder Alaric haunted me, a brutal reminder of the consequences of my choices. But even in the darkest of moments, a spark of determination still flickered within me. I couldn't allow myself to give in to Marcus, to become his pawn. I had to find a way out, not just for my sake, but for the memory of those who had paid the price for my defiance.Amidst Marcus's cruel taunts and laughter, he took a step closer, his sinister grin widening. He seemed to relish every moment of my torment, reveling in the power he held over me.
As I ventured into the dark woods that night, my heart felt heavy with a mixture of determination and fear. I had made a decision, one that had weighed on my mind for days, and now there was no turning back. The image of Leo, my precious son, suffering because of me had become unbearable.Max and I had argued vehemently, the echoes of our hurtful words still fresh in my mind. But I couldn't stand idly by while Marcus continued to torment our family. My resolve was clear - I would confront Marcus and offer myself in exchange for Leo's safety. The path through the forest was treacherous, obscured by shadows and the eerie sounds of the night. Every step I took felt like a step closer to an uncertain fate, but I couldn't afford to falter. The weight of my decision pressed down on me, but so did the love I had for Max and Leo.As I walked deeper into the woods, the faint scent of Marcus's presence hung in the air, like a sini
The realization hit me like a sledgehammer. The torn fabric, Lia's sudden disappearance, and the eerie absence of her scent all pointed to one terrifying possibility. My heart pounded in my chest as fear and anger surged through me.Ethan's eyes mirrored my horror, and we both knew that time was of the essence. Marcus had managed to outmaneuver us, and now Lia's life hung in the balance."I have to find her," I said, my voice trembling with urgency. "I can't let Marcus harm her."Ethan nodded, his jaw set in determination. "I'll gather every available tracker, Max. We won't stop until we bring her back safely, he couldn't have taken her that far."As we hurriedly organized a larger search party, my thoughts raced. Marcus had proven himself to be cunning and ruthless, and I couldn't even begin to imagine what he might do to Lia, seeing she had thwarted some of his plans. The pack
My expression darkened as I heard the mention of Marcus's name. I moved closer, my concern deepening."What did Marcus say to you, Lia? What did he want?" I sighed heavily, knowing that the burden of Marcus's presence weighed on both of us."He taunted me, Max, and he made threats. He wants me to give myself up to him in exchange for Leo's safety. He claims to have powerful allies who desire my abilities for their own gain," I clenched my fists, my anger on the brink of getting loose, is this why she kept blacking out."We can't give in to his demands, Lia. We can't trust him, and we can't trust any promises he makes. We have to find another way to rescue Leo and stop Marcus.""I know, Max. But he also mentioned that he's been watching me, using my moments of vulnerability to manipulate me. He said others are enjoying seeing me fight for control."He's more sick than I thought he was. "I'm increasing security around you, Lia. We can't let him continue to manipulate you. And I'll make
I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over our pack like a heavy shroud after Samantha's shocking betrayal. Samantha, my supposed friend, had deceived us all, and the pain of that betrayal cut deep.Samantha had slipped something in my drink that made me pass out and told me she'll take care of the kids, while I take a nap.Thomas was still recovering from the injury he had sustained while trying to protect the pack during the attack, and his absence weighed heavily on my heart. I longed for his comforting presence and the reassurance of his friendship.Max and Ethan, Max's most trained tracker had spared no effort in searching for Samantha and our son, Leo, but all their efforts had yielded no sign of her. The uncertainty and fear gnawed at me, leaving me with a sense of helplessness. Would I lose another child once more? One evening, as the sun was setting,
The days that followed were marked by a sense of unease that hung over our pack like a heavy cloud. We continued our preparations for the impending battle against Marcus, all the while keeping a watchful eye on Samantha. Her presence had become a source of concern, and I couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something.Ethan, my trusted tracker, had been discreetly gathering information about Samantha's background and her recent activities. We needed to uncover the truth about her and her potential involvement with the external force that sought to exploit Lia's power. One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the pack lands, Ethan returned with a folder full of information. We met in my office, the dim light casting a solemn atmosphere.Ethan placed the folder on my desk and cleared his throat. "Alpha, I've gathered everything I could find about Samantha. Her background, her
