The artifact was cold in Raven’s hand, its intricacies were sharp against his palm. He stared at it, the energy emanating from it was unbelievably heavier than just the physical weigh.

“So, Cullen’s been here.” His own self created realization bit at him like a thousand cold needles. “And then made his number vanish. Made my CCTV glitch..”

He looked around, eyes darting to the table where his open diary lay. The only conclusion he could draw as a rational person was that; his brother, he'd been reading his diary when he came.

Raven clenched his jaw. Cullen had always been like a ghost in life, flickering in and out of shadows. But this? No. Cullen wouldn't just come to his house to read a diary solemnly written after events that himself, Cullen witnessed. Just.

No. Now Raven felt like something else… Like there was something else happening beneath the surface and Cullen might just be a pawn. Either way, he hoped it had nothing to do with spirits and wandering souls.

“Damn it, Cullen

The world around Ielus shimmered like a mirage. Painted in silver and deep indigo, it swirlee endlessly. The clearing stretched vast and open, alive with winds that seemed to carry their own intent. They brushed the treetops and danced around ancient stones carved with forgotten runes. At the center stood Ielus, the spirit of the wind, his form fluid and ever-shifting. He was a living mist, a swirl of translucent currents, accompanied by the faint hum of distant storms.Opposite him stood Aeoron, the god of wind. Towering and radiant, Aeoron’s presence was sharp and commanding, his form glowing in brilliant blue, emanating raw power.Aeoron’s voice cut through the air. “Have you been keeping track of your Windax?”Ielus chuckled as a small gust spiraled around him. “A little essence has been taken, Aeoron. I know that’s what you want to tell me. But it’s just a little.”“A little?” Aeoron scoffed, his aura crackling as the wind swirled fiercely. “Are you playing games, Ielus? Don’t te

“Seventy-seven missed calls, Raven. Seventy-seven.”Raven sat across the polished table, his posture relaxed. He had made it to Emerson's company today, for two reasons. He could sense Emerson’s irritation bleeding through his composed exterior. It was visibly a storm brewing beneath calm waters. Raven remained silent though, waiting for the storm to break. The presenter, standing near the projector, glanced nervously between the two men. He cleared his throat and pressed on, his voice trembling slightly. “As I was saying, the venture’s projected returns are significant, given the initial investment. With SupportYou Corp.'s backing….”“It’s average,” Raven interrupted, his voice calm yet cutting. He leaned back, his eyes meeting Emerson’s briefly before fixing on the presenter. “Let’s not waste time dressing this up. The concept is unoriginal, and your projections are optimistic at best. The risk analysis is weak. If we proceed, we invest half of what you’re asking… no more.”The pres

The wind was restless. It twisted around the towering office building, brushing against windows, hissing through gaps, and coiling in invisible currents. Emerson’s office was far from immune. The faint whoosh of air slipping through the cracks accompanied the two men as they finally sat across from one another.Emerson leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers idly on the armrest. He studied Raven, who was perched uneasily on the edge of his seat. The wind teased at Raven’s hair through the slightly cracked window, and he brushed it away absently. It seemed Raven's thoughts were clearly elsewhere.“So,” Emerson began. “Are you going to tell me what’s been going on, or are we going to play the guessing game?”Raven blinked, dragged from his reverie. “It’s not that simple.”“Try me,” Emerson said dryly, but he didn't sound unkind.Raven exhaled. Awkwardly, the sound almost got lost in the gust of wind that rattled the windowpane. It seemed too windy today. “Do you ever feel like

The banter between Raven and Emerson went on. “Tchh! And you wouldn't have chased out every interviewee that walks through that door? You're the boogeyman, Emerson.”Emerson’s laugh echoed softly in the office as Raven gestured wildly during one of his over-the-top retorts. “You didn't watch pennywise now, did you? Shame on y….”And then both their phones rang.Simultaneously.Raven froze mid-sentence. The vibration of both ringing devices was coming from his pocket. He glanced at Emerson, who had gone still, narrowing his eyes.Slowly, Raven fished both phones out of his jacket. It wasn’t unusual how Emerson always handed his phone over during meetings, trusting Raven to silence it and manage the distractions. Still, it was a habit that if kept on for long would hardly die.Raven held up the devices, one in each hand, and raised an eyebrow.“Yours and mine,” he said flatly.“Obviously,” Emerson replied, already exasperated. He hated a ringing phone. Didn't matter who it belonged to.

Emerson leaned back in his chair, phone balanced between his shoulder and ear. With quite a light voice, he said. “Yes, Mother. I’m fine. Work is busy as usual.”His mother’s voice came through, warm but laced with her usual meddling curiosity. “And your friend, how’s he doing?”“Raven?” Emerson asked, glancing at the door side where Raven sat on his couch, holding his own phone to his ears. Talking to his own chaos. “He’s fine. He’s right here with me, actually. Jinxing me to no end.”“That’s not who I meant, Emerson,” she said with a sly edge. “Your actor friend. The gay man. How's he in your life?”Emerson blinked. He nearly dropped the goddamn phone. “Mum! Have you seriously been thinking about that? It's been over two weeks since it happened.”“Why shouldn’t I?” she retorted. “I’ve been thinking about it because... I’m afraid you’re gay, son.”“What?” Emerson almost barked the word. Disbelief still shot through him even when he knew his mother had this opinion about him. She's a

Emerson’s hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as he drove toward home. He blinked rapidly, willing himself to stay in the moment. But the more he fought it, the stronger the unwelcomed memories pushed forward. It was only the beginning, a sharp bite of recollection. He gripped the wheel tighter, his knuckles whitening. Cold sweat already formed on the back of his neck.No. Not now.His house loomed in the distance. It was the only solace he had left. When he stepped through the front door, the silence wrapped around him like a cocoon. The house was empty—no lights, no noise. It was late, Friday night. And as usual, the staff had gone home for the weekend. The last Friday of the month was sacred. Almost like a tradition where they all retreated, leaving him to his solitude. He made that rule.“Welcome home, Mio Dio,” a voice greeted him, bright and sweet in the otherwise dark room. Emerson flinched. His heart skipped a beat as the light flicked on, revealing Porsche standing b

“I can’t hurt a human.”“No,” Emerson said quickly, almost a whisper. “It’s not you. It’s not you, Porsche.”Porsche’s gaze softened, but he still hovered in the space between them. Hesitant. Emerson’s breathing came shallow, ragged, as the silence between them grew heavy. The room felt too small, too close. Emerson forced his eyes to meet Porsche’s, his expression hardening into a mask he couldn’t afford to drop. Shit. Shit. Shit. The internal panic clawed at him. Was this... was this what vulnerability felt like? No, he was a man who thrived on control. He couldn’t allow this. But Porsche could see it. He could read Emerson’s face, almost like it was a language. “Damn it,” Emerson thought. He couldn’t let this continue. He needed control, needed to bring the conversation back to safe ground.A faint, stubborn tremble of a tear slid down his cheek. He caught it with a sharp, almost imperceptible movement and then asked with a cool and commanding voice, “Did you do the assignment

Each touch was deliberate and soothing. He was aiming at easing the grip of Emerson's tightly wound emotions. Emerson laid still, his breath even. His shoulders were beginning to lose their rigid edge.“Relax,” Porsche murmured, his voice low and coaxing. He could feel Emerson resisting, even in the stillness. The man was unwilling to completely let go. But Porsche persisted. His hands moved to the tight cords along Emerson’s neck, pressing into the knots with care.At first, Emerson’s reactions were subtly a slight tilt of his head then he gave the barest exhale he could come up with. Once again, Leroy Jr. awoke feeling warm and content. His back was pressed against Xcott's front, his head resting on one massive bicep, while Xcott's other arm was wrapped tightly around his waist. A heavy thigh was thrust between Leroy's legs, anchoring him in place.Leroy sighed sleepily and nestled back against Xcott before the memories of the previous evening rushed in. His muscles tensed. Oh my god. Xcott had spanked him—hard. It had hurt like hell. But Xcott had also given him the most intense orgasm he had ever experienced. Then again, he was a virgin. His conscience screamed at him. What is wrong with me? How could I have reacted like that?Moving carefully, Leroy tried to slip out from under Xcott's arm, but the hold immediately tightened."Running away, my little son?" Xcott’s deep, amused rumble sent an involuntary shiver through Leroy. Before he could protest, Xcott laughed and rolled on top of him, his broad hips settling against Leroy’s. Leroy tried to focus but he couldn’t remember the question.“When was the last time you ate?” Xcott asked patiently. He tried to wave a hand, mildly surprised when it responded. “Berries… pool… earlier,” he finally mumbled.A low laugh sent a pleasant shiver through his body. “I think I had better feed you before we continue with my plans for the evening.”“Okay,” Leroy whispered obediently. “No,” Leroy shook his head. “No, please. No. Stop.”Xcott didn't pay heed. Once he fastened them around Leroy's wrists, the catch disappeared. They were beautiful and Leroy now admired the gleam of the gold against his pale white skin. They were just… bracelets. And this time, masculine ones.Leroy opened his mouth to thank him but he was already reaching for two more. These matched the first set but were slightly longer and Leroy eyed them with uneasy suspicion as he bent to fasten them around Leroy's ankles.Leroy's thoughts immediately flashed back to the metal cuffs the slavers had used, but those heavy metal bands were a far cry from these delicate golden links.“What are those?” he demanded.Xcott laughed softly and the low rumble sent a shiver of pleasure up Leroy's spine in spite of his trepidation. “Let’s

Once Leroy stepped inside, K'coba closed the door quietly.Leroy's heart started beating unexpectedly hard in his chest, his eyes went straight to Xcott. Xcott was seated at the desk, bent over a screen, and he didn’t look up immediately so Leroy was able to study him.His eyes traveled appreciatively over Xcott's handsome alien features and the muscled perfection of Xcott's chest visible through the open vest. But he could also see the tension in those broad shoulders and he had a sudden desire to walk up behind him, wrap his arms around him, and nibble kisses into the strong column of his neck.Leroy felt his nipples tighten at the image of his own filthy imagination. It never was.“You know a way?” Leroy asked, his voice coming out rougher than he intended. This was hope, but in an upsetting way. “And you’re just telling me because?”Jadona exhaled, as if she had expected that reaction. “Little man…”“No.” He shook his head, his eyes burning. “Do you have any idea what it’s like to wake up in a place where you don’t belong? “Why do people come here?” The idea that such a huge operation was just floating around in space stunned him, who had a tech and science geek father.K'coba shrugged again. “Various reasons. The repair shops and refueling stations drive a certain amount of traffic. And, of course, the fight pit, the brothels, and the gambling dens draw others. Then there are the merchants, the restaurants, the lodgings. At any given time, there are thousands of people here—some permanent, some transient—but all expecting a certain amount of…order.
