Chapter 6

( Eva’s POV )

“Donna...” she said and left and my eyes widened. No.. This can't be her right... she can't be the first mate of Kane... she has chosen some one else as his mate who was Alpha King’s warrior then why is she here? She is not the one... she can't be...

She left and I was feeling like I am in a middle of a maze. I don't even understand any thing here. There is Kane who is like a puzzle in it self. I was not getting him. Why is he lying to me and not telling me about his wolf who is trying to capture his whole body. And he told me that I can leave or stay. But he won't be able to love me ever. Is this what I want? He kidnapped me and marked me... I can't forgive him. But should I leave? I should talk to him.

Brother in law came to me him self to talk about his friend. So I should be worried. He is right at his place. This situation is out of his hand as well. His wolf... if he has powers from my sister’s inner witch that means it will be difficult to tame him as well. There was a time when Kane used to help me in training of my powers. I used to practice on his brain if I can enter it... if I can control his actions and he never even said a word to me.

What if I help him tame his wolf and once I am sure his wolf is listening to him then I can just leave him and go back to my Kingdome. Yes... that should solve every thing. Kane will be fine and that I way I will pay him back in a way for his training. I think this is right... anyways he doesn’t want me for love. He just wants his mate near him and I will do that. I won't let my self respect go and tame his wolf as well. But this Donna?... let it be Eva... I started to eat the food and freshen up. It was already too late. I have to go to pack grounds.

Wait... where is pack grounds...? I haven’t even seen the pack. But from what I have seen in his pack house... all the rooms are same like I am staying in now. Simple and plain. Nice but it lacks a touch of a woman totally. I just closed my eyes and tried to focus if my can feel my mate? And I did. I just have to reach to him. I opened my door and got out and got stopped in my way as Rehan was there with a smile.

“Good morning Luna, Alpha has sent me to take you the pack grounds.” He bowed down and I sighed.

“Just Eva is fine Rehan... and stop this bowing down... does Kane like all this?” I asked and his eyes widened.

“No... Luna... I mean Luna Eva. It is just a form of our respect. Alpha doesn’t like bowing down as well but when this pack started I was one of the first member to ever join this pack. We were just a group of rouges. He literally gave saved us and give us a new life by starting this pack. That is why all the rouges that come here also feel the same. It is difficult or almost impossible to stay like a rouge and after that when we get the pack and Alpha... it is the deepest respect we feel for him and that is why we bowed down to him.” He said and I nodded. He said he was one of the first for whom this pack started... he must have seen Kane through all these years.

“what has happened when you first met Kane?” I asked and he sighed. Like it was paining him to even remember that time.

“Our own pack betrayed us. We were all omegas by birth... me and few others. We were told to obey and work hard for our pack and we always did. There was a party once where Alpha and Luna of our pack told us omegas to prepare for the guests and we did our best but it was not enough for the Luna. She didn’t like the decoration. I was really confused when after the party she summoned us all and whipped us in front of the whole pack with silver whip and then she ordered all the omegas to leave the pack or else we will be killed.” He said and I gasped.

“WHAT?... HOW COULD SHE? Didn’t your Alpha stop her from doing this? This is absurd. Just because she didn’t like the work you did, she can't just banish you all from the pack and that too even after giving the punishment, which was wrong and absurd as well” I said with so much anger. How can some one be this heartless. Seeing me there was a small smiled on Rehan’s face and something in his eyes... like adoration.

“But she had the right to do that and Alpha never stops his Luna... whether she is right or not. Anyways after that I convinced all that this is not fair and we should complain to Alpha King and in the beginning they all refused but after few months, we all started to lose our sanity. A wolf with out pack is just not possible. We all were feeling like we will loose the sanity but then I again asked them to complain to Alpha king and at last they agreed. we met Alpha King and Beta Kane and they told us that we should have instantly complained as they would have been able to punish them severely but still Alpha king put the royal court and trial on them and they were asked to pay us a lot of money and after that Beta Kane became our Alpha and the money we got, we put it here to built the pack house and other stuff. “ he said and I smiled. So that is why this pack house is plain.

“In our way here, we had met a lot of rouges who had the different stories but in a way same outcome where Alpha or Luna has made them leave after a small mistake. We called them and told Alpha Kane that they wanted to join as well and he accepted all of them. Many of them were on verge of going feral but Alpha Kane saved them all. Even though I was an omega by blood he chose me Beta with the fair competition with every one. We all love Alpha Kane and now... we all love you as well as you are his mate.” He said and I frowned. Too much pressure... I can't believe the adoration I saw in his eyes now.

“He did a lot for him and bowing down to him is ok but I have not done anything for you... so it is not ok to do that for me. As you said you also fought your way for the Beta position then why are you all accepting me with so much ease with out any complaint? Just because I am Alpha’s mate I shouldn’t be Luna.... I also need to prove my self for the position so don't give me any respect before that.” I said and he wanted to say something when his eyes turned hazy. He is mind linking some one. I have brain powers as well. I can just touch his any part of his body and then I will know what he is thinking but I don't want to. Soon he looked back at me.

“Luna... it is already late... Alpha is waiting.... let’s go.” He said and I nodded and we started walking and soon after many hallways we were out of the pack house and went to the out skirts and reached to the pack grounds and as I was some way far I realised that it is a huge ground and there were many people. Hell, I didn’t realise this pack is this big. I stopped in my way and Rehan looked at me.

“There are many...” I stopped as my insecurities increased. These many people and I am going to be introduced to them as their Luna. Hell I am witch queen but I know my own people have accepted me because they can't have my sister as their queen any more.

They still love her way more than me. My own people respect me a lot and won't say any thing to me but I can always sense their longing for their old queen who was best... the first born... strongest witch alive... fire elemental and I am not any of that. I am just a teleportal witch with brain powers... who is just little sister of the real queen. Their real queen got a werewolf mate and now they can't have her and they have the second best option... her little sister.

“Luna... they all already know you and have accepted you as their Luna as well.” He said and I came out of my thoughts. I was so lost that I didn’t realised that what ever I was thinking must have shown on my face. I looked at Rehan and nodded and he looked at me with a real hope and anticipation. This pack needs a Luna but I know I am not the Luna they deserve.

I started walking again and every one was looking at me with their hearts in their hand and as I reached there, they all were looking or more like staring at me but then I heard a growl and I realised that it was coming from my mate. Who is growling and looking angrily at his people and then all of them with in a second looked down and he made a sound of an approval.

He was standing at the top and as I went to him he came to me and gave my hand towards him. Every one was looking at us again as he offered his hand to me. I didn’t want to take his hand but if I won't then it will look bad in front of his people. I sighed and reluctantly took his hand and he grabbed mine rather tightly and pulled me up on the stage. As we reached the stage I instantly tried to get my hand out of his but he didn’t let me out and rather grabbed it more forcefully.

“WELCOME! I am here today to introduce all of you to your Luna and queen and my mate... Eva Shawn.” He said and every one cheered.

“From now on you all will give her utmost respect just like you give to your Alpha. She will also fulfil all the duties a Luna should from now onwards.” He said and people again cheered. Wait... he is not even telling them that I am a witch. What is wrong with him? NO, I got my hand out of him and he let me. I took a step ahead to address the people and cleared my throat and they all quietened down. Yes... that was getting too loud for me.

“thank you every one for the warm welcome. I am Eva Shawn and currently I am the Queen of witches... yes... I am not a werewolf but a witch. And your Alpha said right that I am his mate but I am not the Luna right now. It is a rank and a position so just like you guys decide for every position in this pack, Luna position will be decided like that only... I am letting any she wolf who thinks she can do justice to this post more than me is welcome to challenge me with in next one month. After the month the fight will take place and If that doesn’t happen after a month then only I will be crowned as your Luna.” I said and I heard a loud growl.  Kane....

I slightly turned to look at him and I can see his eyes were switching back and forth. Leon.... soon his eyes turned Darker showing me clearly that it is Leon. He growled again...

“NO... you are my mate and my Lu...” before he could complete I put my hand on his which was itching to get his claws out. I know it is really scary and stupid to hold a hand when you know soon his claws can get out and plunge all the way on my hand. He stopped talking as he felt sparks and looked at me and I tried my best not to get scared and I offered a small smile and he was confused. He was not angry any more but confused like hell. Why am I behaving like this with him?...

“Don't you trust me?” I said slowly and his eyes widened. His wolf got lost in thoughts. I know he is thinking what he should answer but I have no time to let him think more.

“Don't you think your mate is capable enough to become your Luna?” I again said and this time I knew it hit the bull’s eye. I am so happy with this. He tried hard to say some thing and his wolf got confused with my question and his anger. So I just again put on a small disappointed look and his eyes widened and he closed his eyes and when he opened it was again those light green eyes. He gave control back to Kane.

I didn’t realise that I was still holding his hand and Kane looked at my hand and I instantly let go of it. This is good... a wolf’s basic instinct is to take care of his mate and protect her and trust her. When I said those things his wolf got confused. He can't fight with his basic instincts and he had to let it go. His anger and his trust both were on stake so he just backed away. Good decision.

“The same day after a month... Fight for Luna position will happen. If any She wolf wants to participate... let Beta Rehan Know of it.” He said and every one again cheered and he took my hand and guided me out of there and Rehan followed us to as well. Once we were out of the area he stopped and looked at my eyes.

“That was impressive... but I feel sorry for you. Being a mate when some one else is Luna for the rest of your life is going to hurt real badly. You will really curse the day you let this happen. You will stay in my bed but not on my throne. There is nothing worse than that.” He said and I glared at him. I hate this Kane when he is not on wolf’s bane. His thoughts are like his wolf only and I don't know why but that cut deep. I am not going to let that happen. That is my throne and no one can take it from me.

“And that all will only happen if I will lose in Luna fight. You surprisingly have really less fate on your student Kane.” I said and he smirked. Like I am going to loose from few werewolf girls. I am fucking Witch Queen. The only woman I am less than is my sister in this whole world and I refused to believe that some other werewolf girl can fight me and win against me.

“Ohh, I know my student really well and I know how to handle her as well. Good to know that you so desperately want to win. I wish you all the best to become... my Luna” he said and started walking away and I sighed. He played me just like I played his wolf. He knew if he will poke my ego I will give up. Like I actually want to become the Luna. Shit.. how can I get played like this.

I just wanted to help him with his wolf and then leave. I only asked for a month so by that time I will find a way to control his wolf and then I can leave. And now I just told him I will win Luna championship. Like hell... I am not even going to fight. He stopped in his tracks and looked at me with a smirk and showed me with his hand that I should start walking and I did.

He took me back to the pack house. He showed me the TV room and game room there on the ground floor. Then he explained how each pack room is plain only but changes in size as per the rank in the pack and I have the one right beside his and I can decorate it if I want. He instructed Rehan to get me every thing that I need.

“Is there a Gym?” I asked and he looked at me and pointed towards a door.

“That is... but use it after 7, so every one will leave for the ground for training. I don't want any un mated males to see my mate working out.” He said and I wanted to say some thing but I stopped. I have to choose my fights wisely. This small things I should let go so I can fight for bigger one and earn some trust as well. I nodded and he sighed as I didn’t ought on that.

Then he showed me kitchen.

“This is the kitchen. She is the in charge omega here. She is best when it comes to food. Margret! Come here...” he said and a woman came in her fifties and bowed down.

“Is she the one... oh my god... our Luna is so pretty. Goddess always keep you both together and happy.” She said and a blush formed on my white cheeks. I am not blushing but I am embarrassed by the praise.

“Aww... look at Luna is blushing. So pretty.” And few other girls also joined and they all smiled and giggled. I don't know what to expect but this is awkward. Kane looked at me and there was a glint in his eyes. Like he is proud of what he is seeing... what? Proud of me? or just my good looks? I think it is just the looks part. I and my sister both are blessed with most sculptured and beautiful faces but we are not just that. We are way more than that. I have no time to explain when I saw a familiar face in between all of this girls and woman. Donna....

Is she really his first chance mate? Or it is just a con incidence of the same name. I smiled politely to the lady who is head omega who gave me a really big smile.

“Luna... you should rest now. I will send food with some one to your room.” She said and I realised that it is lunch time already.

 “Eva is fine... and thank you.” I said and she frowned. Kane was about to say something but Margret continued.

“we know you have put Luna championship open but we all already know you will win. You are our Luna and you will become one as well.” She stated and I sighed. No need to fight with her. She is reminding me of warmth of mother that I never got so I guess it is ok. She can call me what ever she wants. I nodded with a smile and we went from there and Kane took me back to my room.

“Soon food will be here... eat that and take your medicines and then get some rest... then we will go to the pack clinic to get your bandages remove.” He said and I nodded. Rehan was there only out side the door and then they both left.

I was waiting there when a knock was there on the door and I gave permission to enter and she entered... Donna...

“Eva... here is your food.” She said and I smiled. She is the only one who calls me Eva. But I have to find out if she is the one...

“Donna... please sit here. I really need a company. You can get your plate as well and eat with me.” I said and her eyes widened.

“No.... I can't do this.” she said and I huffed and after a lot of convincing she agreed and got her plate. We started eating.

“SO donna... Tell me, since how long you are staying in this pack?” I asked and she looked at me.

“Since a year.” She said and I was confused. Kane fund his mate way back than that. But Alpha King said she had a mate who used to live as a warrior in royal pack only. May be she is not the same Donna.

“Where were you living before that?” I asked and she looked at me with worried eyes.

“I used to live in royal pack,” she said and looked away. Now I am not so sure.

“Do you have a mate?” I put my trump card and she gives me a polite smile.

“I had but he had left me... so now we are not together.” She said and I got confused. What is going on here? I wanted to ask more but our food was done and she took the plates and left and I decided to follow her. I Slowly got out of the room but stopped seeing Rehan outside the door of Kane and there were talking. I closed my eyes and my hearing ability increased with my magic.

“Alpha... there are few rouges at the border... they are not leaving and they have a small tent and they are just staying there since an hour now. Should we help them?” he said and Kane nodded.

“Let’s go and see what these rouges want now...” he said and I instantly got back inside my room before they could see me. They both walked away. I guess it’s time to know who these new rouges are. And I deceived to follow them...
