Unexpected guests

"Another enemy?" Emily exclaimed, staring at Hayley in bewilderment. She didn't attempt to conceal her astonishment as Daisy had fallen asleep in the back seat.

Hayley sighed wearily, feeling a wave of anxiety wash over her as several thoughts swirled her mind. But eventually, she pushed them aside, not wanting to feel daunted by them.
