BRIANNA
We pass through the gazebo and it's not as tiny as I thought. It's spacious with fancy and comfortable couches around the room and mahogany tables at the centre. From the gazebo, we head to the kids' playground and I notice it has taken a bigger space than I expected. Then there's the swimming pool!I don't dwell so much on it but I can't stop admiring it, together with its surroundings. It's a big one with several resting beds beside it. There's the adults side and the children's side as well. It's a beautiful sight to behold!***Party time is fast approaching and most of the guests have arrived. Tiffy and I are helping the chefs in the kitchen while Brenda and are husband are busy welcoming the guests, ushering them into the parlour where the party will be held.Tiffy and I are at the furthest corner of the kitchen, seated on stools preparing some salad. Since the house tour, I've been surprisingly silent and I'm only answering to questions here and there, rarely contributing to Tiffy's jokes and conversation. I'm deeply in thoughts and I can't place a finger on whatever it is that's bothering me.It's like she notices that I'm silent since she stops whatever she's doing and focuses her attention at me. “What are you thinking about Brianna?” she asks me, concern written all over her face.I place the knife I'm using to slice some lettuce on the table and look up at her, my eyes misty with unshed tears.“Don't tell me you're crying dear,” her voice is laced with concern. “It hasn't gotten to that, has it now?” Her eyes are fixed on mine and I suddenly look away, certainly avoiding her gaze. I know I'm acting weird and I shouldn't be pulling this act at all.I should be happy for my sister and instead of lamenting and wallowing in self pity during her house warming party, I should be thanking God for her! Here I am, all sullen and sulking, wishing I was her. For God's sake I know I can't be her....I can't even match to her standards!Brenda is kind with a big heart, loving, caring and hard working. Unlike me, she hasn't wasted her youth indulging in bad habits and drug abuse! I know I'm pathetic and I'm not a match against her but still, I'm dying with jealous!“Won't you say anything?” Tiffany insists as she places a loving arm over my shoulders, rubbing them lovingly. At that moment, a lone tear escapes my eyes and runs down my cheek but Tiffy doesn't mind as she wipes it away with her fingers.I'm trembling as I sob uncontrollably, attracting the attention of the two chefs who are busy making some pastries.“Let's get out of here before we attract more attention!” she tells me, standing up and holding my hand to help me up. “Let's go to the garden and talk!” she adds, pulling me like a baby.“Kindly finish up whatever we were doing and stop lazing around!” she sends a warning to the chefs and you'd think she's boss here. “If Brenda asks where we are, tell her that we went outside to breathe some fresh air!”We walk past them then past the living room to the main door. After pulling it open, we exit the house and that's when she loosens her grip on my arm then leads me to a lone bench at the farthest corner of the garden. She helps me sit down then she sits next to me, releasing my hand.“Start talking young lady!” she commands without mincing her words. She's definitely pissed off, wondering why the sudden outburst. I almost laugh at her seriousness but I think against it since I don't want to offend her any further. With the back of my palm, I wipe my eyes dry and after sniffing in an unladylike manner, I finally gather enough courage to talk.“Why me Tiffy, why?” I ask to her astonishment, making her to eye me in dire surprise.“I don't understand!” she says in confusion, trying to place a finger on whatever I'm trying to say.“Brenda, rich boyfriend, a big house, a company...why not me? Why her? Is she better than I am?” I finally let it out of my chest, still sobbing silently.“Don't be silly Brianna, your time will surely come.” she tries to comfort me. “Besides, everyone has their own destinies!” she convinces me but still, I'm yet to be convinced.“Brenda and I are twins, born the same time, the same day, the same year, the same hour, are not we supposed to share destinies? Aren't we one? Didn't we feed from the same umbilical cord?” I'm just trying to prove a point. I won't let this go easily.“Your time will come dear and you will eventually rejoice. Don't ever question your God, ever!”“You're not helping out at all. I don't know why I even thought of talking to you about it.” I say, standing up from the bench. “Find me in there!” I tell her, pointing at the swimming pool and then I walk towards it. I better swim so as to relieve my stress.“Wait Brianna,” she's now running after me. “I am sorry for not being a supportive friend and for escalating the situation further but you have to forgive me since I won't support you on this!” she says as she walks away from me, towards the house.“I just want a good life, okay?” I shout behind her. “I want everything that Brenda has, not just the small apartment she has dumped me into!” that jolts her and she stops on her tracks, then retreats, walking back to me.“If you're not an ingrate, I don't know what you are Brianna!” her words stink like a bee. “You have a two bedroom apartment which is not even yours. You live there for free and you every need is provided for. Instead of being grateful, you're here ranting and yapping like the ungrateful dog that you are...”“Enough Tiffany, enough!” I shout at her, slapping her across the face, cutting her short. “Who made you the judge to my feelings and opinions?” I know she's speaking the whole truth but the truth hurts, doesn't it? I'm guilty as charged!“You slapped me Brianna?” she's so mad at me right now. “You will regret ever raising your filthy fingers on me!” she clicks then turns to walk away. For a moment there, I stand transfixed on the spot and I only run after her when it dawns on me that she might decide to go and sell me out to my sister!“I'm sorry Tiffy, okay?” I say immediately I catch up with her, grabbing her hand and I'm glad she doesn't object. “I'm sorry I overreacted. I know I shouldn't have acted in such a manner yet you were speaking nothing but the truth. I guess you were so blunt such that I couldn't hold the reality!” I'm just trying to talk her out of saying anything to Brenda but deep down, I swear that I'll do something to get whatever Brenda has, even if it takes me forever!“It's okay dear,” she says, turning to face me. “All I want is the best for you and I'm sure your star will shine one day.” she assures me. “Come here,” she takes me into her arms, hugging me like the friend that she is. “Wipe those tears honey, we need to go back there and party like there's no tomorrow!” she suggests as she helps me to wipe my tears.“Thank you honey, I'm cool now!” I assure her and after ensuring that there is no any trace of tears on my cheeks, I wear a big smile and then we walk hand in hand towards the main door.I've already resolved to party today and when I get back home, I'll have a lot of thinking to do.****Tiffany has been my good friend since high school though we lost touch when I joined college while she opted to work since her parents didn't have enough money to take her to college. She took everything positively and she dedicated all her time on her job as a flower shop attendant. Luckily for her, the flower shop owner, an elderly lady took interest in her and she gave her a loan to see her through college. She enrolled for a two year course as a part time scholar in business administration still working for the lady and after acquiring her diploma, she continued working there full time. Having repaid her loan, she was granted another one which she used to start a small boutique which is now fast growing. With the proceeds, she has been able to buy herself a two bedroom apartment and she's planning to expand her business and maybe open several other branches!Compared to me, she's not badly off but most of the times she pretends to be broke so that I can foot her bills and I'm sure she enjoys seeing me spend my sister's money on her!BRIANNAThe party is already on and most of the invited guests have already arrived. There are a bunch of people whom I've never seen before and Brenda introduces them to me as the employees in their company. However, most of them have been accompanied by their spouses, fiancée's, girlfriends or boyfriends but the hosts do not care about that since they're they ones who allowed their employees to tag their better halves along.Tiffy and I are shown to a couch next to Brenda and Ethan and I'm glad they've at least recognised me. Everyone who sees Brenda and I together for the first time is surprised and sometimes we give them a hard time trying to figure out who is who. It's just that Brenda's outfit matches with Ethan's making it easy for us to be easily told apart. The party is going on well with plenty of food and drinks and everyone seem contended and in their own worlds. I'm so much indulged in my drink such that I temporarily forget about my sorrows and focus on making myself hap
BRIANNAAfter swimming to my satisfaction, I get out of the pool and lie on one of the beds so as to dry up. Tiffy is no longer talking to me as she seems deep in thoughts. She's still in the same position, kicking at the water with her legs.So far, no one has bothered to come and look for us and I assume that we're not that important. I'm still lying on the bed when I hear footsteps approaching and since Tiffany is too busy in the water to hear the intruder, I sit up immediately on time to see a guy, one of the guests at Brenda's party approaching us. He's wearing a killer smile and I suddenly recognise him. He's the company's general manager and I suddenly remember that he came to the party all alone! Doesn't he have a wife or girlfriend? I can't stop asking myself several questions.“Hello girls?” he says, jolting Tiffy to her senses. She looks up from the pool and smiles at the guy then grins at me.“Hello.” we both reply as I look for a towel to cover my half naked body.He wal
BRIANNAI'm meeting Steve later today for dinner. He has already called me and since I don't have a car, he will be picking me up by 5pm so that we may go to my favourite restaurant. He was such a gentleman to allow me to choose the dinner venue and since I'm conversant with all the good restaurants and eateries in town, I had the pleasure to choose the best.I spent the whole night yesterday contemplating on whether to agree to the date or not but after a lot of contemplation, I concluded that there was no harm in agreeing to his offer. Besides, this will be to my advantage since I have a plan in mind and I'm definitely going to agree to his wishes because I'm on a mission....and he is the best candidate!I grin evilly as I scrub my whole body with a body wash and after convincing myself that I'm clean enough, I turn on the faucet and let the warm water to run down my shoulders. I have to make a first impression incase he wants me for a wife! Poor guy! I'll lead him on till he's co
BRIANNAIt's almost midnight and Steve is driving me to my apartment. By the look of things, he's happy and he can't stop smiling. He can't stop thanking me for accepting to be his girlfriend. All I can do is to fake a smile as well but deep down, I feel so guilty for what I'm planning to do. I don't know if I'll be able to do it but exploiting a nice and kind man won't be easy.I vividly remember when I agreed to date him as we were busy sipping onto our wine, Stephen jumped up and down like a teenager, almost knocking over the drinks on the table, shouting to everyone who cares that I've agreed to be his girlfriend. Some people in the VIP lounge were shocked while others congratulated us. Others took out their cameras and started filming the happy guy as he celebrated and hugged me continuously. It was a scene to behold! As for me, I just remained calm, wondering why he was behaving like a baby. What if I agreed to marry him, how would he have behaved?I sigh heavily as I imagine m
BRIANNANaomi who happens to be Brandon's and Natasha's nanny was our neighbour back in our parents' house. She didn't live in the neighbourhood but she owned the estate shop. She was a friendly woman though she was a gossip and nothing passed her eyes or ears. She's in her mid forties. She knew about all my escapades with boys back in highschool and she used to gossip about it to everyone. Her children were still young but now I guess they're in college or highschool. When Brenda and I joined college, Naomi left the shop to her husband and I heard she secured another job that's why by the time our uncle threw us out, she wasn't within to gossip about it. Now that I've met her again, I hope I'm not in trouble! After lunch, Naomi excuses herself and informs us that she's heading back to her house since her shift is over. Now this means that I'm the one in charge...wow! We bid her goodbye with the children clinging on her, begging her not to leave but they finally let her go when she in
BRENDASomething is off with my sister and I can't place a finger on it. Ever since I came back from abroad, she has been acting weird and every time I request her to visit me in my house, she declines, giving an excuse after another. I remember the day I came back home about a month ago, though she looked warm and welcoming, she didn't appear to be herself. She wasn't comfortable and she always shifted uncomfortably whenever in my presence. I don't know whether Ethan intrigued or intimidated her or what was bothering her. I just can't place a finger onto it. Then came the day of the house warming party! She was acting weird and I noticed she hugged Ethan and clung onto him for almost a minute until my fiancee detached himself from her. However, I'm now glad that Stephen is keeping her busy and she even seems happy with her life. BRENDAEthan arrives a few minutes after welcoming my guests. I'm glad he's already home on time for lunch and after hugging and kissing me, he shakes the guests hands and I can tell how uncomfortable he feels when Brianna stands up to hug him.I ignore everything as I set the table for lunch and I invite them over to eat, my eyes discreetly checking Brianna out. She's fidgety around Ethan and she's trying her level best to impress him, trying to start a conversation and all. Since I don't want to dwell on it, I focus on setting the table and immediately everyone takes their place, I sit down next to my fiancée and we all serve our food and then eat in silence.Nothing much transpires all that while and I'm surprised at how quickly I move my mind from Brianna's flirting nature and focus on other things. After lunch, I help the house manager to clear the table and after we're done, I join the rest in the living room. To my relief, Ethan is not in sight and I heave a sigh of relief kno
BRENDAAs we head upstairs, my mind shifts to the very first time Ethan and I made love. He was the first man to ever taste my honey pot. He's the one who broke my virginity and I still remember the shock on his face when he tried to penetrate to no avail, until I informed him that my hymen was yet to be broken by anyone! We had to use a lube for lubrication since I was tensed and I couldn't get wet by myself. Right now, I'm just smiling inwardly knowing that the man I'm in love with is the same man I gave my purity to.Ethan understands my body so well and after a moment of romance, we make love for a long time till we both slump on bed exhausted to the core. ****It's already on Monday and I've just arrived in the office. Ethan drove me there before he headed to his office. He doesn't allow me to drive myself citing that I might get on the wrong side of the law or get a card since I'm still an amateur driver.I'm surprised to find Brianna already in the office, busy at the recepti
BRENDAI wake up in a strange environment. My hands and my legs are tied together and my lips are sealed with a masking tape.I survey my surroundings and I almost gag when I perceive the foul smell coming from within. The bed I'm lying on is squeaky while the blanket and covers are smelling like rotten eggs.Since I can't sit up, I just move uncomfortably on the bed wondering how I ended up here. However, I can't seem to remember anything and as my thoughts continue wandering, the old door creaks open and a ragged looking man enters. He's grinning like a maniac as he walks towards the bed and I wait for him, anticipating what he's about to do. All I pray for right now is that he doesn't hurt me!“How is our little miss billionaire?” he asks and the odour coming from his mouth hits my nostrils hard, making me to look away. I can't speak because I have a tape on my lips and I just wish he takes it off. I'm looking for answers!“Oh sorry, I almost forgot that you can't speak with a tape
BRIANNA“It's long since we went for lunch together.” I say to Brenda one afternoon while still in the office. It's only twenty minutes to lunch break and I just want to distract her so that I can strike. I've just visited her in her office, just as the norm since she has been done with her morning hours clients. “Today is your lucky day darling since I'm done with my clients.” she states as she scrolls through her desktop. After clicking send on a mail she was previously sending, she looks up from it and I smile inwardly. She so innocent yet so ignorant. She's too blind to read between the lines and today....today might be her last day on earth!I am evil...okay, I am but what should I do? Do I have a choice? Do I have an option? I want Brenda's life, I want her house, I want her husband, I want her everything....I want everything that she owns....everything that she holds dear! Soon, maybe tonight, Ethan will be mine...her house will be mine and she will be nowhere to be found....
BRIANNAI've been working in Brenda's establishment for over a month now and I must say it has been fun and smooth. I get to do the light jobs and all and I was surprised to receive a hefty sum of money as my first month's salary. Brenda and I hadn't discussed about my payment therefore the huge amount came as a surprise to me. At first, I'm confused, wondering if I should go on with my plans but with time, I get determined to pursue them since I aspire to be at the top not the bottom. My relationship with Steve and his kids is perfect and I had to move in with them two weeks ago. The kids nanny Naomi isn't bad at all though she warned me never to hurt the kids or the father and I promised her that I wasn't going to hurt them in anyway. So far, I've learnt a whole lot about Brenda's lifestyle, her dress code, her favourite make up, lipstick, cologne and all. Whenever I go back to my house in pretense that I'm checking out if it's in good condition, I make sure I buy some dresses whic
