The gentle knock at the bedroom door extracted her from the reverie. In the doorway was "Wendy." Her warm heart immediately saw written on Sabrina's face all the storm and turmoil that had raged behind those bright eyes. She crossed the room without a word and held her granddaughter close.

"It's all right to feel sad, Sabrina," Wendy whispered softly, her voice calm and soothing. "You have been through so much, and only natural that you would want things to be different."

Sabrina leaned into her grandmother's embrace, letting the tears she had been holding back stream freely. "I just. I thought he might change. That he'd realize how much he meant to me, to us."

They finally reached the car, and as they drove away from the airport, the familiar sights of Los Angeles welcomed them back. Saben glanced at Clarisse as she looked out the window, a reflective expression on her face, almost wistful. She turned toward him, a soft but real smile on her lips. "It feels like we've been gone for months, not just a week."He chuckled. "Time does feel different when you're with me."Clarisse's heart fluttered as she leaned to softly kiss him. "I missed you," she whispered, her hand gingerly rested against his thigh. "I missed us, just the two of us."His eyes softened as he looked at her. "I missed you too. But now we're home. For real."They entered the gates of the Thompson estate, the sprawling property sitting in front of them like a beacon of everything they'd built, everything they'd fought for.As the car finally came to a stop in front of the house, a feeling of contentment washed over Clarisse. She wasn't nervous. She wasn't anxious about stepping

They had wandered through Oia, hand in hand, past whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches. People passed by, yet it seemed that nobody existed except the two of them.Clarisse stopped at a cliffside overlooking the caldera.“I don’t want this to end,” she admitted softly. He stepped closer, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear.“It’s not ending, sweetheart. It’s just changing.”She looked up at him. “What if… we lose this when we go back?”He cupped her face gently.“We won’t. Because this isn’t Santorini magic.”He tapped her forehead lightly."It's here."Then her chest.“And here.”Her eyes softened. “I love you.”“I know,” he murmured, leaning in to kiss her forehead.“And I love you in ways that scare me.”She blushed, grasping his shirt.“Saben…”“Don’t worry,” he teased.“I’ll protect you from that too.”The Final SunsetThey spent their last evening out on the terrace again—their favorite place. The sky was ablaze with pink and orange clouds as the sun sank slowly into th

Clarisse burrowed deeper into the sheets, her hair spilling across the white pillows, while her cheeks remained flushed from the earlier heat of the night. But when Saben leaned over her again with his eyes gleaming with that familiar wicked promise, she pressed a palm to his chest.“Hep hep—my love,” she protested softly, breathless laughter mingling with a small groan. “I'm sore… last time you almost wore me out.”Saben froze for a beat. Then the slowest, most smug, dangerously satisfied smile spread over his lips.“Oh?” he murmured, lowering himself until his forehead brushed hers. “Is that a complaint…His hand slid to her waist, warm, gentle, teasing.“…or a compliment?“Saben!” she swatted his shoulder weakly, though the laughter in her voice betrayed her. “I’m serious. I might not survive round four.”He chuckled low, warm, and sinful, before kissing her forehead with exaggerated softness.“You’ll survive,” he whispered.“But I hear you.”He lay beside her, pulling her into his

Saben pressed his forehead to hers, their breaths mingling, his thumb brushing the curve of her cheek like it was the most natural thing in the world. Her emerald eyes shimmered with the same fire he felt burning in his chest. He was about to kiss her again-slow, deep, claiming-when her phone suddenly buzzed on the nightstand. Both of them froze. He closed his eyes, defeated. “No…” he groaned. She laughed softly. “I have to get that.”"No, you don't," he argued, pulling her closer, sliding his hand down her waist like he could physically anchor her to him.But she slipped out of his hold, still smiling, still flushed from their kiss, and grabbed the phone.Eliana flashed across the screen."Oh God," she whispered."What?" Saben asked suspiciously. She pressed her lips together. “She’ll never let me hear the end of this.”Before she could utter hello, Eliana's voice burst through the speaker.“GIRL. ARE YOU ALIVE?”The lover nearly dropped the phone.Saben blinked. “Alive? What did you

There before him was the delicate, white, lacy bordered panty-clad bum of his new wife. A cherry-red blush swept over Saben's cheeks as he flinched back and covered his mouth from surprise. An exhilaration of sexual anticipation rushed through his form and excited the loins of his lower member."What-What the." He tried to regain a decent sense of the world surrounding him while his eyes remained transfixed on the tan bottom exposed from the tundra of seemingly inescapable fabric.Clarisse's head appeared from under the skirt and she looked back at Saben, worry written all over her face. "Saben, is there something wrong? I thought this was the position you showed me."Saben took a deep breath and let it out roughly. It sounded as if he was going to say something but the words stuck in his throat. He coughed once and regained a tiny bit of composure. "No, really, this is good. You did it very perfectly." Saben situated into his part of the position and tenderly put his hands on her cur

The boat drifted across the Aegean as the world entered that golden hour before evening. The sky was affame with shades of rose and amber, and at the bow stood Clarisse, her hair whipping in the breeze.Saben slipped behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.“You cold?” he muttered.“No. Not when you're holding me.”He kissed the back of her shoulder and lingered, his lips warm and gentle. She relaxed against him, feeling the beat of his heart beneath her palms.“This view…” she whispered.“It’s stunning,” he said-but his eyes were on her, not the horizon.Clarisse’s breath caught."Saben," she whispered, her voice barely audible. He turned her gently toward him.His fingers lifted her chin. The wind paused. The sea was stilled. And he kissed her-slow, deep, unhurried. A kiss that tasted of promise, of home, of all she had ever dreamed of when she dared imagine forever. Her hands slid up his chest, her fingers clenching into his shirt. His arm tightened around her waist, pulling
