NAYA’S P.O.V

I held the small phone in my hand, admiring it with a smile on my face. I stare at the small note Talon left beside the phone – simple and straight forward but it still managed to bring a smile to my face. Well, that s step worked well, didn’t it? Still smiling, I turned around, slipped on my flip-flops and walked out of the room. I walked down the long hallway leading to the stairs, and slowly descended the stairs.

Before I could get down the stairs, I heard the voices of everyone in the living room. A sudden fear and agitation washed through me at that for a while. Would I really have to face Talon’s family this morning? I let out a sigh. Looked like I didn’t have a choice.

I walked down the stairs, one step at a time, hoping my anxiousness wasn’t so vivid on my face. As I descended, they all came into view – Eric, Karen and Nelson. However, none of them really noticed me as they were all engrossed in their conversation with each other. Karen was engrossed with her mo

NAYA’S P.O.VI walked out of the kitchen holding a tray that contained a number of dishes for dinner. Eric, Karen, Nelson and Mandy were all seated at the table waiting. Karen and Mandy chatted animatedly with smiles on their faces, and for a minute I was saddened by the fact that I might never have that kind of relationship with anyone in this house. I wondered if they would ever like me enough to sit and chat and laugh with me like this. Probably not. I shook off those depressing thoughts, heading to the table as fast as I could. I slid the plates gently on to the table.“Heyyy,” I greeted in a bright tone and a wide smile. “What do you think you are doing?” Karen’s voice rang sharply in my ears.My brows creased but I refused to look at her and continued to arrange the plates on the table. “Hmm…. serving the food?” I responded. “And who gave you the right to do that” she snapped.I said nothing at first. Once I was done serving, I straightened up and turned to look at her. “Well

TALON’S P.O.VI could not remember the last time I got surprised. When I said ‘surprise’ I meant the kind that caught you off guard, that stopped your heartbeat for a millisecond and then got it racing again. I had trained myself to not entertain any form of emotions including surprise. I spent years of my life learning to not show my emotions – fear, sadness, surprise, shock. Even when I once received news about a cousin of mine dying, I had not shown my shock or sadness or fear. When my parents organized surprise family trips to expensive countries and places, I still never showed any emotion – surprise, happiness or excitement – never. Growing up, no matter the amount of surprise party my parents threw for my birthday, I never showed real surprise. My facial expression was always the same – jaw tightened, lips pursed, face stoic. Each passing year and I never changed and my parents were beginning to feel frustrated with me; I could sense it. They spent years trying to change that

NAYA'S POV The door opened up immediately I reached it and without sparing a last glance behind me, I shut it. My breath comes in fast as I try to steady my breathing. For more than a minute, I stood there in front of Talon, a thin towel shielding my nakedness from him, while he stared at me. I could have sworn he was looking at me the same way I looked at him, but that's the thing with Talon. His eyes are like some shield, hiding his emotions from the world. He was really good at hiding.I walked over to the mirror and let the towel fall when a thought creeped in.What if Talon walks in?I threw the towel around me, holding it in place, before returning to the door. After securing the lock, I let out a sigh for two reasons. Talon wasn't staring at me through the door, nor had he walked in which assures me he's not a pervert. Second is because he wasn't staring. I was hoping, which was of course stupid, but I was hoping that Talon found me slightly attractive and was at the door, pe

Chapter 18Talon's P.O.VI understood that I could be so serious sometimes. But, I felt that it is the best way to handle things, especially things that involved humans. Humans needed to be pushed, so I thought. I spent my whole time focusing on my iPad during the flight. After all, I wanted nothing serious with Naya. So, why should I even try to start up something in the first place? Anything at all."Talon," she called out. For a few seconds my gaze fell upon her. It was the first time I had given her a long stare since the flight began."What," I said, curtly. Even if I knew I sounded too cold, I kinda felt she deserved it. What the heck was she trying to say? "I want us to talk.”"About what?" I inquired as my attention shifted back to my device."It's about your own part of the bargain.""What about it, Naya?""You said you were going to make me a super model. Remember?" TalonAfter years of ups and downs, heartbreaks and makeups, we finally made it. Our love story has come full circle and I couldn't be happier to have Naya by my side. She was everything to me. Life was a lot better with her around. I could’ve never imagined that things would be subtle between us. Judging by the way we met, I had never thought that we would ever be together, forever. I was happy that we finally got to end up together after everything that had happened in the past. The villains in our lives were all eliminated, and we did it all because we stood by each other. It was difficult in the beginning as all I could think about was my hatred towards Naya. I could remember how I couldn't even stare at her in the face. The fact that thing took a turn made me realize that we were meant for each other. We've been through so much together, from the moment we first laid eyes on each other in the weirdest position to our emotionless wedding day. Our first wedding was a disaster,

Talon's POVLife was a lot better without Nelson around. For the first time, Naya and I felt secured. It felt like there were no villains in our lives anymore. Five months after the whole drama with Nelson, I realized that we had moved on. The house was bubbling with excitement. My dad was no longer in so much shock. He had been heartbroken when Nelson was sentenced to jail, but things changed. His mood became a lot lighter and he wasted no time in showing how happy he was. On the other hand, I was going from left to right to make sure everything goes right with Naya. I didn’t want her to encounter any form of stress. She needed to be fine. After all, she was soon going to be a mother and, me a father. Soon enough, we were going to be holding our bundle of joy in our hands. The long preparations I made for our second wedding was going to be actualized the next day. The next day was our second wedding. I had invested so much in it because I wanted it to be special. I knew that it wa

Talon’s POVThe next day, I woke up early to make sure I was ready for the court hearing. I knew it was going to be a difficult day, but I was determined to see it through. Naya was feeling better after a good night's sleep, but she was still nervous about what was to come.As we drove to the courthouse, I could feel the tension in the air. Naya was clutching my hand tightly, her eyes darting around nervously. I tried to reassure her as best I could, telling her that everything was going to be okay. When we arrived at the courthouse, we were ushered into a small room where we waited for the hearing to begin. The minutes ticked by slowly, and I could feel Naya getting more and more anxious. Finally, the judge entered the room, and the hearing began. Nelson was brought in, looking sullen and defeated. He had already been found guilty of attempted murder on a pregnant woman, and we were there to hear his sentence. The judge wasted no time in handing down his decision. "Nelson, based on t

  • BILLIONAIRE'S HIRED BRIDE   CHAPTER 114: SO MUCH HATE

Naya’s POVI couldn't believe what had just happened. One moment, we were all sitting at the diner, laughing and chatting away, and the next, Nelson tried to convince my personal maid to poison me. What did I ever do to him? Why did he have to hate me so much? Sometimes, people just die without knowing that they are falling for a trap. The trap in my case was the one that Nelson set for me. But, I was lucky that the maid didn’t let it happen. Soon enough, Talon called Eric and he was in the house in no time. Eric slapped Nelson across the face when Talon narrated everything to him. The sound of the slap echoed through the room, and everyone fell silent. I was in shock, my eyes wide as I stared at Eric. Eric didn't say anything, just stood there with his jaw clenched. Nelson, on the other hand, looked stunned. He put a hand to his cheek, which was now red and stinging.Talon immediately went into action, trying to calm me down. "Hey, it's okay," he said, putting a hand on my shoulder.

Talon's POVThe maid who was supposed to bring extra food for Naya was delaying and I wasn’t finding it funny. Why was she taking so much time? Worse still, Nelson was in the kitchen with her. I didn’t want to think that Nelson was up to something bad. I didn’t think that way because I believed that he wouldn’t want to harm me in my own house. But, as time went on, Naya grew more and more impatient, and I could no longer try to calm her down. She just needed to be given food. She couldn't control the anger she was feeling inside. "Where is the maid? I'm starving. It's been an hour since she said she would bring me food,” Naya said in frustration.I got up from the couch and walked towards the dining room, curious to see what was going on. As I tried to enterthe kitchen, I saw the maid standing nervously by the door. She had a tray of food in her hands, but she seemed reluctant to bring it to Naya."Naya, the maid is here with your food," I said, trying to ease the tension in the ro

Talon's POVNaya apologized for leaving like that and told me everything. My heart swelled with relief and happiness as she poured out her heart to me. I was worried sick about her. But now, she was finally back in my arms and telling me everything that had happened. As I listened to her story, I couldn't help but worry if she was really fine. She seemed so vulnerable and fragile, and the thought of anything happening to her tore at my heartstrings. Even if she assured me that she was doing just fine, I couldn't completely believe her. The next day, I decided to do something special for Naya. I was going to get her an engagement ring, and marry her again without her knowledge. I knew it was a little unconventional, but I wanted to show her how much I loved her and how committed I was to our relationship. Naya’s POVWe watched a movie together. After the movie, when we were getting ready for bed, Talon finally spoke up. "I'm sorry I got so angry earlier," he said, looking at me. "I

Naya's POVAfter Talon calmed down, I explained everything to him about my dinner with Nelson. I told him that we had talked about the property dispute and that Nelson had agreed to end the fight between them. But Talon didn't trust Nelson at all and assumed that he was up to something.I tried to reassure Talon that he had nothing to worry about and that everything would be fine. I even joked that he should make me something to eat, which made him laugh. But despite his laughter, I could tell that he was still feeling uneasy about the situation. As Talon went into the kitchen to make me something to eat, I settled down to watch a movie. But my relaxation was short-lived when I received a call from work. I was needed at the office immediately to meet with a very famous celebrity who was interested in signing a contract with my modeling design company.I rushed out of the house without telling Talon, hoping to make it to the office on time. But the meeting took longer than expected, an

Naya's POVI met Nelson in a restaurant for dinner, hoping to catch up on lost time and rebuild our friendship. But the conversation took a strange turn, and before I knew it, we were discussing Talon and his ongoing property dispute with his brother. When Nelson arrived, I could see the guilt in his eyes. He knew that he had let his down, and he didn't know how to make things right. That was my own version of the look I saw on his face. I asked him why he hadn't been there for me when I needed him the most, and he told me that he was afraid of making things worse. I was taken aback by his response. I had never thought that Nelson was the kind of person who would be afraid of confronting his problems head-on. But I could see that he was genuinely sorry for his behavior, and I decided to forgive him.I couldn't help but feel frustrated and confused about why Talon was still fighting with his brother, even though he had already won the property. It seemed like a petty and unnecessary c

Talon's POVI rushed Naya to the hospital. She had passed out due to stress, and I was extremely worried about her. I couldn't get the picture of her smiling towards me before she passed out, out of my head. I wanted her to be okay and free from any form of stress. I loved her and she was carrying my child. I had every reason to protect her. The hospital staff did their best to reassure me that she would be fine, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of helplessness that I felt at that moment. Deep down, I wanted to shake the feeling off my head. I wanted to be normal and hope for the best. But, my fears piled up. I didn’t want anything bad to happen to the woman I loved or my baby. They both had a special place in my heart, and I was not ready to replace them. I knew at some point that I had to be strong for Naya. When Naya finally woke up, I knew that it was time for us to have a heart-to-heart conversation. I gently encouraged her to open up to me and tell me what was on her mind.
