Regan's POV

It was the beginning of a new day and there was nothing unusual about the morning. It was just the normal bustling activities of a new day.

I had not set my eyes on Maya since I was informed about her pregnancy. She hid away from me to conceal her condition.

Meanwhile, she had been having bouts of morning sickness. I heard her vomit even from my chambers.

Thinking about it made me mad, but Adrian warned me to keep my cool for now. He claimed that he needed to sort out some things, most especially, the Dowager's secret visit to my chambers.

I had just had my breakfast and I was preparing to settle in my study when a guard arrived, asking for me.

He bowed and from his appearance, I knew he was from Queen Dowager's chambers.
